  1. I purchased Loveless on vinyl the other day. Rare, 1000 copies, Clear blood red vinyl. It's beautiful :)
  2. Control - Mute Math. Amazing relatively unheard of American Band. Would definatley appeal to Coldplay fans, simmilar in some ways. Imagine if Radiohead continued their OK Computer phase, had more subtle electronica influences, extremely energetic live shows and a singer that sounded like a grittier version of Sting. That's what you get with Mute Math :)
  3. Elbow - Seldom Seen Kid No Man - Schoolyard Ghosts Raconteurs - Consolers of The Lonely
  4. :p Sadly the face isn't as captivating as the Straightners.
  5. If I'd ever had it, I'd comment, but I haven't, so I won't. *is like Chris Martin, unsucsessful, but ONE DAY*
  6. WOAH. bit big. I'll stop now. Sorry
  7. Thanks for your critique and reply. Really appreciate it. :) I'd agree with Lights being too long, we need to trim it down and make it more varied. Ahh yeah, there's a few mistakes in EP, mainly cos the whole thing was recorded live, so some of the endings to the songs we're written on the fly. =] Would anybody else care to listen to us?
  8. Hello there, =] I'm not sure if this is allowed here, and I'll delete the thread if it isn't, but I'm in a band called Some Electric Life and I was wondering if the members of Coldplaying would be interested in listening to us. Our main influences are Radiohead, Tool, Coldplay, Beatles, Raconteurs, Bloc Party and alot more. We're mainly an alternative rock band, but we aim to have alot of hooks in our songs, so despite the "heaviness" of the music, it's still listenable and enjoyable. I am the lead guitarist/song writer (and also potentially backing vocalist in future) for the band, so I'd love to know what you think about our music. We're a very young band, our EP was recorded about a month after we became the lineup we're currently in (it's changed a few times over the months). Our EP: Dancing About Archiecture, is free to listen to on Myspace. http://www.myspace.com/someelectriclife Thanks :)
  9. Oh most definatley. But it's worth it!
  10. Hello =] I'm one of the newbies. :D I've been a Coldplay fan since a Rush Of Blood but it's only with the excitement generated by all these new songs that I felt I had to discuss and find out more about Coldplay. Very glad I joined, lovely forum. :)
  11. Ahh yes I do indeed. I'm also in a band. :) Lead guitar/Lyrics/Back vocals. XD :D
  12. Hahaha. TheFoxThatBecameGod. Violet Hill? "And a fox became God?" :p
  13. I'd like it if they tried something like that again. Something like an uber chilled version of Chinese Sleep Chant or something. But then I might as well listen to Agaetis Byjyurn by Sigur Rós XD
  14. Ahoy, =] I am GlodFox. :P lol Pleased to meet you.
  15. Hahaha thank you. *blush*
  16. Alot of the albums these days, are well, in my opinion crap. I almost purchased the new Sigur Rós album, but after a few listens I didn't like it much (just my opinion, I am a fan, but more pre-Takk work), so I saved myself some cash. Conversly, I downloaded Weezer's Red Album, didn't like it at first, came back to it, now I seriously love it. I've brought the Green album and Blue since, and I plan on getting the Red Deluxe album soon.
  17. I think this could potentially be one of the most beautiful songs Coldplay have ever written. Very atmospheric with the almost airport esque chatter, catchy piano and Chris at his very best with falsetto. Who's with me?
  18. How low is he actually going in Yes? In terms of octaves/notes etc?
  19. Remind me slight of Mama's and Papa's? Anybody heard of them? Classic 60's. But yes, Fleet Foxes. Damn good. :)
  20. 9.7 out of 10 is extremely high for an album that you yourself says has a few problems. I'd agree with your review in terms of flow. The album feels very much like a collage instead of a singular painting. I like Chinese Sleep Chant alot myself. Anyway, thanks for sharing your opinion :)
  21. Overrated : 42 (The hype around this song, it's a bloody good song, but not as amazing as it was made out to be) Underrated: A Whisper, Amsterdam
