  1. 1 Coldplay - A Head Full of Dreams (25,646) Wednesday British chart update. Would it be legit for beating Beatles record? It seems it's about to be first on the debut week, but I'm not sure.
  2. Lads, there are no GA on US tour? Correct me if I wrong.
  3. Well, commercially it was a success, no doubt. Artistically? Definitely not. And perhaps it's a stretch but I'm hearing a lot Coldplay recently, not only in the country I live (hearing Sky Full of Stars in supermarket), but also on Spanish TV commercials (watching Barcelona's games in Copa Del Rey), etc.
  4. Just watched on youtube U2 and McCartney SB show - both spectacular 13 minutes gigs, both performed in authentic style they used too (imagine Paul and Bruno Mars together). No mashups, full songs. No one in a harry. Classic performances. Don't get why Chris and guys deliberately pretending to be something else, completely out of tune with those B&B chaps. These footage made Coldplay gig even worse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL6sUdma57I Mobile Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL6sUdma57I
  5. 30 second SB ad costs $5 million, show continued for 13 minutes, that's roughly $130 millions - probably the whole Coldplay tour profit. Fair enough, I guess.
  6. While coldplaying.com has been under ddos-attack (the same shit when album has been leaked), I think it somehow connects with quite subpar performance on SB. First of all what's the hell with Chris voice? It's completely out of tune, hard breath, jeez, why this chap Mars and Beyonce sounds clearly and loud? Perhaps phonogram? But they stole the show. Secondly why songs was cutted just like preview in itunes? Without transitions, just one accords from one part of the song then another part of the song, awful. It would be better just stick to three full songs - and all crowd would sing along the boys. Third, Coldplay doesn't belong to this kind of show. Bruno Mars and Beyonce - yes, they fit perfectly, but not Chris Martin. Coldplay doesn't need this couple sloppy minutes of ads, they are bigger then this. At least they could do it alone. I hope tour gigs would be miles better, especially in terms of sound. PS Remember Chris closed one of the Apple presentation when S. Jobs was still there - just three songs and it was completely amazing, with mistakes (I guess jet lag) but still, it was incredible.
  7. Don't get this obsession with chart position. If anything band cares about sales numbers. Which are higher than MX, GS and P despite second slot.
  8. Great figures. Tour and SB would boost sales to 4-5 millions.
  9. I adore such comments. You could start with yourself. Chris doesn't owe you anything. He could do whatever he wants. He is already a legend ;)
  10. OT Where I can find these demo versions? May add MX is a bit agressive, has rebellion notes because of the album concept. While AHFoD doesn't fight with something or struggle, it just flows :)
  11. LMAO. Great numbers considering Adele juggernaut (VLV numbers would give the same #2 spot). Dunno, but I have a gut feeling this album would beat MX total. It's smooth and soft, just like girls likes)))
  12. Relax, lads, #1 in UK won't happen. At least not in debut week.
  13. Perhaps they are number one because of this:
  14. Foals wearing really fast, personally i can listen it couple of times and then it's a downhill. Also want to see any modern band with straight 7 rock albums selling 80 millions copies :) Does anyone remember Killers, Franz Ferdinand, even Oasis - two-three rock rec are max today. Then you are going downhill. And I doubt it's a coincidence Radiohead also left rock. For a good reason.
  15. I hope not. They can perform stadium gigs, less concerts but the same revenue and audience. I'm perfectly OK with 60-80 gigs per tour. Can afford a trip to see them in Europe or US once in three year .
  16. Names? By the way I'm glad Chris overcame his private turbulence and now he seems relaxed and happy. But I'm wondering he is still a vegetarian like his ex?
  17. ^Yep, just like Radiohead. They are too smart for that. Like one of my friends says, rock musicians are one the most boring persons in the world. "Imagine you sing the same record 100 times per year for 30-40 years". Boring as hell. And usual story about "it could be our last album". No way. They are too assiduous and can't live without recording too long.
  18. Would love to hear it, but I think odds close to zero when band has now 7 albums and 70 songs.
  19. First week doesn't mean much, considering zero promotion since official announce. Even GS had better marketing. I guess it would be similar to MX, slow start, but solid finish, with Super Bowl, Glastonbury and big tour ahead, add to this X-mas sales.
  20. I'm wondering what if Coldplay would get #1 next week or even further, would it be legit for the record? Or only debut week counts? And in my humble opinion these records nowadays doesn't mean much, because it's completely different era.
  21. I read they sold like 80 millions albums copies (or with singles combined). And I also think Chris wouldn't stop until they reach 100 millions. Could happen with couple next albums.
  22. Bad marketing? Dunno, lads. If album would be a flop - who cares? Tour would be a hit, boys are already millionaires and could do whatever they want.
  23. That's like 70% drop? I think it's 50/50 to beat Adele in US. Guys needs sold >300K. But for the Beatles record boys needs 1st place where? In UK or US chart? Or WW?
