    Beautiful song. So thoughtful.
  2. I love the abrupt ending.
  3. Read today a beautiful article on Guardian: http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/dec/04/coldplay-fan-confession-superbowl-new-album
  4. Do we have numbers? I think sell strategy for Christmas Eve is different to standard May/June release. Sales could be low but wouldn't drop through a month. I hope :)
  5. And who told lyrics is bad? I'm not a native English speaker, but think it's not meaningless at all.
  6. Leak was 128 kbps. Listening FLAC - jeez chrisss, sound is amazing! One thing you should know about Coldplay - they have amazing sound, on good stereo system it's additional pleasure. Jeez, even Hymn sounds fantastic with many details and nuances!!! I don't know, maybe it would wear really quick, but so far it's more coherent than MX - songs more smooth and melodic.
  7. We are talking about whole album, and for me it's not about how many favourite tracks it has, good album should be solid and complete. Not the case with X&Y. But it have it's moments. Though I liked most "How You See The World".
  8. It would be a superhit ... with proper live performance.
  9. Can't resist downloaded first two tracks. Well, it's great so far. My girlfriend who told me Paradise would be a huge hit tell me the same about Bird. Brilliant two open tracks. Melodies immediately stuck in your head. Can't wait for proper release to hear it on my Dali Zensor 5 speakers.
  10. I would rate (album as a whole): Parachutes/A Rush of Blood to The Head >> VLV/MX/GS > X&Y A Head Full of Dreams needs more listening and live gig :P
  11. No offense but you missed the point. You stuck with old material and compare new with old again and again while the truth is you shouldn't. Just enjoy any new song, stop compare it with the past. You are resisting to accept new reality, your favorite band would never make ARBTTH 2.0. Life goes on. Guys evolves. They sound different. Have cheesy lyrics (although I never pay much attention to it because voice for me just another instrument to complete melody). I was the same like you denying MX (at first). And I don't adore VLV album also. Tastes different. Live with it. Only sells will tell if new album a mess or success.
  12. A head full of ... different style songs. Album title is tongue in cheek. And correct me this album originally should have been released before GS? Or both were recorded at the same time. Can't remember.
  13. Do you think they write bad melodies nowadays? Bad melodies doesn't sell well. [video=youtube;GcDi7O42Jco]
  14. It's not about age (if you think it matters watch Iggy Pop gigs). Music from musician is telling something about him, his feelings, how he see the world. And what you could expect from multimillionaire lads who has a dream life? Of course it would be less dramatic, negative, dark then stuff from no_name students band.
  15. Michael Bay actually is a pro director and has couple of good entertaining hits like "Bad Boys" or "Rock". And even "alternative" by his own standards coenesque "Pain & Gain". ;)
  16. The point there are almost zero "good old music" nowadays. You guys are stuck with this or that album. Eventually people remember only good things, that's why they are thinking that something in the past better than today. Today Coldplay is apples. Or oranges. Whatever. It can't be directly judged with previous material.
  17. Would love to listen couple of albums like Parachutes/AROBTTH. Could you provide some names? ;)
  18. The funny thing, it's how with each new album we are hearing "they are done, past prime, Clocks was the peak of career", etc. I was the one in the past. The point is for many fans different records has it's own value. For me after ten years most listened tracks are from bootleg The Rush of B-sides to Your Head, with favourite like Animals, Crests of Waves, Old Painters or Prospect's March.
  19. Could someone compare Everglow from radio to leaked version? I deleted bootleg after two listening, can wait another couple of days for proper quality.
  20. Great thread. My internet friend from other city (and country) send me "Don't Panic" and "Scientist", I thought it was ok, a little bit dark, but still. Then it grows a bit. After that I visited this friend (and others) and he talked a lot about Coldplay and show me the Live 2003. The whole trip was quite emotional, it was New Year 2005. When my vacation was over I downloaded Live 2003, Parachutes, AROBTTH, then Talk leaked (I still prefere leaked version), and by the time I bought X&Y became a lifetime fan. Then was VLV and concert in Berlin I attended with this friend. MX was frustrating with release mess (first gigs then studio versions of tracks, and I still dislike Every Tear), but eventually it grows. When Ghost Stories was released I realised the band could do whatever they want. They can't mimic Parachutes/AROBTTH like many other bands which has only one great album and everything else are attempts to simulate earlier success. They evolve. And I'm ok with it now. Perhaps I've grown a bit. The good news we are going with my old pal who hooked me to the band to the gig next year :smug:
  21. Last album was too experimental. Also grown on me after couple of month. :o
  22. Well, live is always better with those "stadium bands". BTW found this on wiki, don't know if this true, tracks Stargate worked: 03. "Hymn for the Weekend" 04. "Everyglow" 05. "Adventure of a Lifetime" 09. "Amazing Day" 12. "Miracles" (Japanese bonus track)
  23. The funny thing even fresh haters would listen this bootleg couple of hours on replay :) And what about Up&Up? Whos Stargate and what so bad to be them?
  24. Like a hater of Every Tear is a Waterfall, I think we can't judge the album until live performance. One thing for sure it's different album. And you know what? Now I'm completely okey with it. And I adore All Your Friends and Midnight snatched from Jon Hopkins. Also I may add Hurts Like Heaven from previous LP. There are so many different songs that will definitely find their listeners. That's probably the best part about the band, lots of good tracks, not just one hit and nine crappy overproduced songs to fill the space.
