If Coldplay did a live session for just you...
As I'm a sucker for songs being played acoustically, I think I'd definitely go for an acoustic session, if that'd be possible. :cheesy: The order of the songs wouldn't really matter. :) Moses Lovers in Japan Till Kingdom Come Life in Technicolor ii Yellow Amsterdam Warning Sign Gravity Strawberry Swing The Hardest Part Don't Panic Crests of Waves Cemeteries of London Violet Hill Talk

Aww, that was very kindly said! @fietssleutel: I love that song as well! :) But I don't think they played it during the reworked tour... :\ But they did play Batten down the hatch, Making Enemies, Starfighter Pilot (:cheesy:), Fifteen Minutes old and perhaps some others as well. :) @mc_squared: I really hope that, too. But to be honest, I rather doubt it since they did quite a lot of gigs here last year... I think they did those 5 gigs in May/June, the other three gigs in July and also the shows with U2... :\

Bianca, seriously... This sounds like I'm violent or something. :P  You know, I was only able to "show" those girls their "limits" because you helped me... I'm not much of a "fighter", really... :\ However, we will make it to the front row somehow, simply because the amazing CP & SP-Karma is with us. :D Jo, yeah, he was really chatty that night! But he talked a whole lot the other night as well when I saw them. Actually, he's been really talkative on the whole reworked tour, I think. (-> Another striking argument for a reworked show :D)

You're right, I don't really mind what they're going to play, either. I mean, of course I can think of songs I'd kill for if I could hear them live (like... Warmer Climate & The Lightning Strike), but actually I'm alright with almost anything. :wacky: And I totally agree! Gary's interaction with the crowd is something I really love about them! It's hard to describe, but I think there's hardly anyone who's as good in captivating the audience as Gary. He's just SO into it! :cheesy: By the way, Jo, have you seen the infamous "The Proposal"-video from one of the shows in London? Absolutely priceless. :laugh3:

Well, there's still the possibility of shouting out to Gary as he sometimes really grants the wishes and listens to what you have to say. I know one time a couple wished for Olive Grove and another time someone asked for Gleaming Auction and they played it even though they hadn't played it for 5 years (that's at least what Gary said ). But even if he listened to you, it'd still depend on whether he's able to remember how to play the song on the guitar and (even more important in his case ) remember the lyrics properly. :laugh3:

I don't think that it'll be one of those reworked gigs as I rather doubt that they'll (be able to) gather all the other musicians together again for only those two shows... Not that I would mind if they DID a reworked show because the reworked gig in London was the best I've ever attended! Their "normal" gigs are already beyond words as well, but hearing the reworked versions of their songs is just a wee bit more special. ;) Plus the set'd probably be much longer (therefore you'd get to hear even more songs and enjoy the guys' talent even longer!) which is a nice side effect, isn't it? ;)

A friend of mine already got our tickets on Wednesday, so yay, I'm definitely going on the 31st! I think that I'll need some time to realise that I'm really going to see the lads THAT soon again! :cheesy: :wacky: It's a shame we didn't know about the second show at that time and that it's already sold out... Well, I'd have had to talk about that with my parents a little bit more in detail anyway... But two shows in a row would definitely rock, so... Nothing's impossible anyway considering my insanity that probably can't be beaten...:laugh3:

Würd' ihn auch gern wiedersehen, fand ihn damals als Support von Jason Mraz echt klasse! Der Kerl hat wirklich 'n hübsches Stimmchen! ;) Falls du Lust und Zeit hast, kannst ja auch 'nen kleinen Konzertbericht posten, würd' mich freuen. :)

Roos, are you talking about me? Noooo way.:laugh3: (I know, we're way too easy to see through. At least I am. ) Dear fellow Patrollers, you can't imagine how excited I am! Actually, I guess I won't be able to sleep properly until next Friday. Roos, you should join us, too! That'd be plainly ace! :)

The 5th Mixtape Exchange (Tapes In First Post)
YAY for Sufjan Stevens and Travis. A double YAY for "Set the fire to the third bar", it's such a beautiful song! I'm also very tempted to have a listen to the rest of your mixtape as well. :D By the way: Dear mixtape creator, wherever you may be, if you read my review, stop by and reveal yourself. ;)

The 5th Mixtape Exchange (Tapes In First Post)
Alright, here's my review: 01. The beginning sounds pretty odd with all the talking and the rather unfamiliar instrumental arrangement, but it only took me about half a minute to actually get used to it and then I started to really like it. Also because of the singer's fairly nice voice. The female voice pretty much ambushed me as I'm not really a fan of female voices, but I have to say that I really like the parts where they sing together. I also like the strings at the end. All in all, I think it’s a nice song to start with, it kind of fits to a start. :) 02. The electric guitar is kind of penetrant, I must say. The strings sound nice, though. Still, I think neither the singer's voice nor the lyrics are that special. The chorus is quite neat, but apart from that the song's rather boring. 03. The guitar at the beginning sounds good, that's just what I like in songs. In fact I think the instrumental arrangement is nice! The piano actually sounds a little bit “baroque”, I don’t know. 04. The start also sounds like it's a song I might like, with the guitar and all that. The raspy voice has something special on it as well. The lyrics seem to be rather simple and the “I’m sorry, so sorry, I’m sorry…” kind of gets on your nerves after a while... 05. I don’t really like the “Oh baby, baby, baby…”, but the song’s kind of happy and up-lifting. Sometime in the middle I hear a violin! Pretty. I do also like the voice as well as the "groove". :) 06. This song's beginning is just VERY weird. All in all, it's way too electronical for my taste. I'm just not too much into that style of music, but the chorus’s nice. The song also sounded like something I listened to a few weeks ago… Maybe Delphic? I just wish it was more acoustic… But: After having listened to it for the third time, I have to admit it’s quite catchy. ;) I just caught myself tapping with my feet during the chorus. 07. The first 20 seconds sound so 80ies, but obviously it isn't a song from the 80ies and I'm afraid it isn't my cup of tea AT ALL. :\ I'm a sucker for great lyrics and those lyrics don’t really seem to have much content or make some kind of sense. And to be honest, the third time I listened to it, I actually felt the urge to skip the song, sorry. :\ 08. This song didn’t really stand out. After about 2.30 you’d actually think the song’s over, but then it starts again…It neither hooked me nor was it that bad. Just not special. And the instruments seem somehow pushy, I don't know. 09. Aaah, I recognized that one almost immediately! EDITORS, I really like them! And of course, I guess Tom Smith's amazing voice totally stands out anyway. :cheesy: If only the chorus wasn't AS obtrusive... 10. Now, this song's really SO 80ies all the way through! The singer's somehow got a kind of strange way of singing voice, but then it sounds kind of interesting, too. The lyrics aren’t too special and it isn'treally the kind of song I’d listen to. ;) 11. The song's beat seems rather "unusual", but the actual melody's quite cute. I do also like the piano in the background a lot, too. Yeah, I know, I'm such a sucker for nice piano arrangements. And added strings are just the cream of the crop. Again, it sounds a little bit "baroque", but I like it. 12. That one sounded very familiar indeed. "Boxing Champ" by the Kaiser Chiefs. I must say that this really isn't my favourite track by them simply because I don't like the vocals too much, but it's a kind of "fun"-song. Oh dear, I think I haven't listened to them for quite a while... Should definitely do it again sometime soon. 13. The last song already. The guitar and the voice sound good. It's just the type of song I like: A nice voice, clear lyrics and a discreet guitar. Still, I have to say that it already starts to get boring after the third listen… But it's a nice little song nonetheless and also a fitting end of the mixtape. ;) All in all, it was a quite short mixtape with only about 45 minutes, but pretty much to the point. Actually, it only really started to grow on me the third time I listened to it, but I've definitely found some band/artists I'll keep an eye on from now on. Can't wait to see the tracklist. :) Also, some of the album artwork was still there, but I just tried to ignore it. And it didn’t really spoil me, either, so don’t worry. ;) I did notice that the “song titles” you chose were the lyrics of one of the songs (actually from the one I really didn't like ). Kind of funny idea, though, I liked that. :D So, I'm really looking forward to finding out who made my mixtape. Thank you, dear mixtape creator, you did a nice job! :nice: And especially thanks for not putting any female singers on it (apart from the second singer in the first song) as I usually have a hard time growing fond of female voices and there are only very few I really like. So, choosing only male singers was definitely the safe side. :D Last but not least, The Escapist, thanks a lot for the amazing job you did and the great effort you put into this project. :)

The 5th Mixtape Exchange (Tapes In First Post)
Aww thanks, I'm really glad to hear that! :) It's also nice to hear you didn't know most the artists/bands and got interested in at least some of them because I guess that's just what a mixtape is there for. :nice: I do believe the one by Biffy Clyro was your favourite, wasn't it? :) If you go and check them out, have a listen to their latest record as there are quite some gems on it (I prefer it to its predecessor anyway). :)

The 5th Mixtape Exchange (Tapes In First Post)
To my mixtape creator: I'm just about to listen to the tape again. I've already written parts of the review, but I just want to go over it again by listening to the tape a third time. :) That's mine! ;) I'm sorry about the album artworks, I thought I'd deleted everything, but I suppose I was fooled. I hope you weren't spoilt too much. :\ I do also get your point about the lack of variety... I just thought these songs fitted kind of nicely together, but you're right, I guess I was way too much into piano-driven songs at the time when I created the mixtape. So, sorry about that. But I'm still glad you grew fond of at least some songs. :) Here's the tracklist: 01. Pete Yorn - Lose You 02. Morning Runner - Burning Benches 03. John Garrison - Abdicate 04. Snow Patrol - Warmer Climate 05. Martin & James - Broken Sword 06. Air Traffic - Shooting Star 07. Thirteen Senses - Into the Fire 08. Keane - Black Burning Heart 09. Embrace - Nature's Law 10. Jason Mraz - Plane 11. Biffy Clyro - Many of Horror 12. Elbow - One day like this 13. Nerina Pallot - Real Late Starter 14. David Gray - Stella the Artist 15. Lisa Hannigan - I don't know 16. The Reindeer Section - Cartwheels 17. Athlete - This is what I sound like

I did. That's why I said it were 3 words because I forgot about the "your". But if you count it in, then it would be 4 words. Come on, I know I'm extremely bad at Maths, but still...  Yay, exactly. Now you got my point. :D

Then I figure it'd be a really nice school if everyone listened to Coldplay, Snow Patrol and Editors. :) (And I guess even sports would be (at least more) bearable with nice music playing in the background.) Aww, that was very kindly said! And yeah, you're right... I forgot about the "your"... But I guess that word's okay, I mean, not as "objectionable" as the others... At least in your opinion. ;) Ah, that's not true! You know, our "team" isn't complete without you! :stunned:

You know you're addicted to Coldplay when...
...when you totally freak out when seeing the guy sitting in front of you in English class wearing the "Whatever it takes"-shirt. I was just about to congratulate him on having bought the T-Shirt, but that would have been a bit weird since we never really talk... I can tell you it was rather hard to concentrate during the lesson because I couldn't stop staring at the nice drawing on the back of the T-Shirt. :laugh3:

Sounds like a nice teacher! :) And even if the name doesn't say anything to him... After having read your essay, he'll be interested in their music. It just has to happen like that, I feel it! :D Oh, so you say you might be interested in it nonetheless? And what if I just mention three words that are "connected" with that song? You're SO going to beat me for that, I can foresee that. :P Yes, but it won't be a party like the ones we're used to because... Well, just because you're the party promoter. :D
-
The Snow Patrol Thread
Of course I will. I'm still keeping it shut (at least concerning the above topic), you see? (But it's fairly easy because I know you wouldn't want to know it anyway... :P).:smug: A whole essay about them? Really? Is there any chance I might be able to read it someday? :D Did you read it in front of the class? Oh dear, how I wish I still had music class... :\ Naah... I think I wouldn't be able to do it. It just wouldn't be the same, you kow...?

The Snow Patrol Thread
Huh?! :stunned: Eh... Let me think about that one... NO?!?! Seriously, what a very odd idea is that?! I would never throw a party without my dearest Bianca, the photo- and videoqueen. ;) Something more topic-related: I had my very own "Crack the shutters"-moment today during English lesson. Only a crazy "Crack the shutters"-addict like me would find any relations to the song in a film about the African colonies...  But I guess it's better not go into details because I'm almost sure Bianca would probably kill me for these thoughts. :anxious: So I better keep my mouth shut. :lipsrsealed2: :laugh3:
