Zane Lowe aired another song of the album (Dead American Writers) on BBC Radio 1 yesterday. He also chatted to Gary on the phone. All those (lucky ones ;)) living in the UK can listen to it here, for us poor souls living outside the UK a kind person's already uploaded the song on youtube: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_opHeic_S4]Dead American Writers[/ame] Loooooove it to bits. :cheesy: Seriously, I think this record's going to be grand. And so will be the gig.

Hi everyone, just thought that it's maybe time for some sort of Amsterdam-review... Don't know if anyone's still interested as it's already some days ago and you guys also got the liveupdates from Bianca, so I don't know whether it's still necessary to say much more... But I think I'll kind of write an overall-review about both gigs and my experiences... Something like that. :) So, I went to Amsterdam with the friend of mine who'd also come along with me to Berlin. First I had to travel about 6 hours to her place and then it took us approximately another 7 hours to Amsterdam by car. A journey of 13 hours all in all, not bad, I guess. But it was SO much worth it and I'd SO do it again. I think we arrived at the venue at about 11.30, waaay to early. Seeing we were the first ones, we went for a wander, went shopping for CDs and had something to eat. We also discovered an Irish pub very close to the venue but it was closed... :dozey: We started queuing sometime between 1 and 2 o'clock, but the amount of people didn't increase until 4.30 or something... We also met up with Sam from TTB and her friends and spent the time talking until the doors opened. The procedure inside the venue was a bit annoying because first it took them ages to scan your tickets and then you were almost checked like at the airport, but luckily I was one of the first ones to enter the floor and I managed to get my favourite spot between Gary and Nathan. I liked the Foals' set much better this time, firstly because it seemed like they'd extended their setlist (which now consisted of 6 songs) and the sound in the Heineken Music Hall was much better than in Berlin. I really enjoyed their music and I was a bit surprised that I was one of the only ones who was actually "moving" to the music or at least bobbing along to it... I was wondering anyway because I'd heard that the Durch crowd was one of the most energetic and lively ones, but I couldn't really feel that that night... The people didn't even really showed more life when SP went on stage. At one point Gary even said that we seemed a little subdued and had to teach us how to clap... But it wasn't just the crowd, because the band didn't seem as energetic as in Berlin, either... But it got much better during the set! :) One thing I have to mention is that the stage was veeery high... Which was kind of a problem for Gary because, as you know, he usually jumps off the stage and sings in front of the people at some point... So Gary told us about the one time he'd jumped off a stage in Dublin and broke his leg, so he wouldn't try that again, even though he'd love to come down... And you could really see how sad he was about that because during some songs he really seemed to look down with a pitiful face, kind of showing us that he'd really like to but can't... Pretty cute. ;) Apart from that, there were also the usual lyric-mistakes, but he avoided the worst parts by looking at his monitor... Seriously, it was so obvious how he'd always walk past it and look down on the floor...:lol: I really liked "You could be happy" in the dark with all the mobile phones in the air and "Set the fire to the third bar" sounded really lovely with the lady (Laura Jansen) who joined them on stage. :) The concert was over waaay too soon and we headed to the back entrance to try our luck... We weren't that lucky, though, because the tourbuses were parked inside the venue in a garage and I was pretty sure they'd leave in a taxi or something to go downtown or something... Well, what shall I say: I was right. They eventually left the venue in a minivan... There were only very few of us (<10) and we didn't want to be rude by standing right in front of the garage door, so they probably didn't even notice us... I was a bit disappointed, to be honest, but I told myself: Better luck next time... So, on the next day my friend had to leave early because of an exam and I went to the venue on my own. Even though I didn't want to be there as early as the day before, I didn't know what to do anyway, so at maybe 1 pm I joined a girl queuing who I'd met the evening before... The next couple of hours were reeeaally boring and I almost fell asleep. Then Stefan joined our part of the queue... As we didn't really know each other too well and, as the dumb-ass I am, I wasn't quite sure whether it was him and didn't want to make a fool out of myself in case it wasn't him... Well, all I can say is: Thanks to the magical CP-bracelets... So, queuing with Stefan and his friend was much more entertaining and the time passed by pretty quickly until the doors opened. For some reason then, I was one of the first ones inside the venue again and got hold of my favourite spot, so all of us were at the front. While the Foals were playing, I thought I saw the boys dancing on the right side of the stage... I could only see some shadows, but I thought it were Gary and Pablo... The dance moves of the "tall one" actually looked rather funny, so that'd fit to Gary, I guess. I'm sure about Pablo because I saw him walking back to the backstage area after Foals' last song. I'm really glad the boys all loved the Foals so much and obviously enjoy their music. Well, Gary expressed his love for them like 42987 times on stage anyway. It was nice to see that tonight's crowd seemed to be a lot more lively, you could feel that from the first minute the boys took the stage. :) The boys seemed to be more enthusiastic and a lot happier as well! There was so much "flirting" going on between Gary and Nathan and everybody was smiling to each other and making jokes. It was a joy to watch! :cheesy::wacky: Gary probably didn't talk as much as the night before, but the interaction with the audience was hilarious anyway. At one point people wouldn't stop cheering, so Gary kind of made us go on and stop like a conductor does with an orchestra. Moreover, the audience continued singing "Shut your eyes and sing to me" without Gary even asking us to do so, so he had to stop us to be able to end the song the way he usually does... First singing it very quietly and then getting louder and louder. So, I really enjoyed SYE that time and I absolutely loved the sound of Gary's voice when he tried to sing very quietly... SO beautiful! :wacky: During "The Golden Floor" he totally messed up the lyrics and afterwards he said that we could find the actual lyrics online. "Make this go on forever" was a mess as well, but it sounded wonderful nontheless. I really got the impression that his voice sounded more beautiful than ever that night! Oh, I mustn't forget about my favourite moment of the night... It was obviously during "Crack the shutters". As Nathan hadn't joined Gary (who was lying on the piano) during "Hands Open" as he usually does, he must have probably wanted to kind of take revenge on him for that... So during CTS, about 30 seconds in, he went over to Nate and hugged him longer than before. Nate couldn't help but laughing, but he clearly showed Gary his ringfinger... Gary didn't seem too impressed, though. It was SO much fun to watch! :lol:During the song, Gary even said "I could do that every night, ladies!" and they were all laughing so heartily, so cute! :) Another highlight of the night was the fact that they'd replaced "You could be happy" with "The Finish Line"! I have to admit that for a wee second I thought they'd finally play "Warmer Climate" when Gary said that they'd now play a song they hadn't played for a long time, but anyway... They all exchanged instruments, Nathan being sat on the piano! :wacky: I knew that the silent part with Gary only had returned during "Run", so I told Stefan's friend to shout out to Gary during that. His response was "I love you too, man in the darkness!". The whole band just cracked up. Oh, by the way... Gary must have obviously told somebody to get some kind of stairs because they'd put up three boxes in front of the stage so Gary could finally get down to the crowd. :) And he did so during "Take back the city", giving everybody high-fives. It's a pity the (stupid) photographers were between Gary and me just then... :dozey: I really really enjoyed "The Lightning Strike" this time. As I said before, the sound of Gary's voice just sounded extra-ordinary that night. :wacky: Oh, one thing that really made me happy both nights was that Nathan kind of seemed to remember me as he smiled down at me a couple of times. :stunned: I probably turned red as a beetroot everytime...  I'd thought about all day long whether it was worth it to give it another try at the back entrance or just avoid another disappointment, but I just thought "Damn it!" and so the four of us made our way to the garage door... We probably were less than 10 people again and it only took less than half an hour and a white minivan left again... A security then told Stefan that the boys had headed to a gig in the Paradiso... I guess for a few seconds we really considered going there, but it'd have been too complicated (at least for me) and we also didn't know whether we'd actually be even allowed to go inside... So, I must admit that I was pretty gutted that I didn't get to thank them for those three amazing gigs and say a proper goodbye to them, but I just guess they sometimes don't feel like doing the fan-thing every night and they probably hadn't seen us standing there anyway... Well, life goes on, that's what I kept telling myself. ;) I feel really lucky I was able to see the lads so often on this tour and that I got to spent such an amazing time together with some really lovely people! Stefan, it was really nice to meet you and I'm glad we eventually managed to start a conversation. And remember the deal: If you join me on a gig here in Germany someday, I'll come back to Amsterdam! ;) I've uploaded all videos on youtube and I can also post some photos on here if you want to, so let me know if you're still interested. :)

@the livestream discussion: Won't the gigs be streamed on both the band's official and also on the Guinness facebook sites? I might be wrong here, but I thought I read that somewhere... Otherwise I guess I will be damned because I (unfortunately) don't have BBC here... :dozey: @a-chan: Awesome! Have a blast - but I'm SO sure you will! :) @Bianca: You DO know how to make me happy, don't you? ;) Aww, I love love loooooove that photo!:wacky::bomb::dead: @muzika: Those videos are brilliant. I'm glad the person added some more to the one he/she had already uploaded. I can't thank him/her enough, it's so nice to have that truly beautiful concert almost completely on tape. :)

@blue_girl: Aww, I hope you enjoyed the gig! We certainly did...behind the screens. It's a pity they only played about an hour, though... It seemed like they were kind of in a hurry... @Meredith: Aww, thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed reading my review! :nice: I'm sorry, but I guess you won't find the photos in this thread anymore because I deleted the links since you could apparently find them on google and I didn't want the whole internet community "steal" my photos... But if you want to I can show you some of them via PM or something like that... I might even post some in our GLLU-group, we'll see. :) And haha yeah, it's pretty easy to drop dead standing next to them. But Bianca and I managed not to swoon. :D:lol: Even though I kind of had a massive blackout considering all the things I actually wanted to say to them, but oh well, I was at least able to say something that wasn't just nonsense...  @Bianca: Watching the livestream with you was a hell lot of fun, just have to say it again! I'm really looking forward to watching the other two with you as well! Can't wait! And you're right, I guess we could listen to them for days, weeks, months and even years. @Jen: Aww, thanks! I'm sorry to hear you're sick... Get well soon then! Only 3 more days left, ladies and gents... Oh dear, let me just tell you that: I can't wait! It's like I'm even more on fire since yesterday!

@Anna: Oh, what a pity that you'll fly home one day prior to the gig. :\ It'd have been awesome to meet up in London again! :) I'll have to talk with my friend who'll come along and see when we'll arrive. We haven't booked flights or anything just yet as we're still rather busy with the Amsterdam-trip, but I guess we'll plan our stay in London afterwards, so I'll let you know in case we'll be in London earlier than the 14th. :) I just "accidently" found out that you can actually listen to one of the tracks ("Point me at lost islands") on the official Tired Pony site! :wideeyed: It's one of the songs of which you could hear a tiny snippet in the video... Now you can enjoy it in all its glory! :nice: Just had a listen to it and well, what can I say? I loved the snippet and I certainly love the whole song already! I especially love the guitars, I don't know why... And you can hear strings towards the end! I must admit that they took me by surprise and I guess that's the "country-feeling" to it then. I like the sound, though. :nice:

Dear Coldplaying, I need your musical insight.
I think your idea of creating a mixtape to show your friend how much you value your friendship is a very cute idea! I hope you'll find enough songs for that as I think it's not that easy... Well, here are the three songs that came to my mind: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Njg3JDOE610]Snow Patrol - Give me strength[/ame] That's the one that immediately came to my mind when I read your post... Of course it isn't suitable for every situation, but I think at least the chorus should fit :) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAODjL8g0oM]Keane - Fly to me[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsC7nq7wIvk]Jason Mraz - Song for a friend[/ame]

@Bianca: What about Mary-licious? :wink3: Haha, only joking. Well, and can't decide whether I prefer the "cute smirk" or the "dead sexy (indeed!) smirk"... :dead: @Kimmi: Haha, that interview's soooo random. Still love it. I especially like the part with the doors that won't open. I can totally relate to that. :laugh3: @muzika: Watched those videos this morning and they just made my day! The quality's ace and the music is outstanding. I guess I've said it a thousand times, but I'm such a sucker for acoustic sets. :cheesy: The gig seems so perfect all around for me, I guess I'd have done anything to be there. And Gary played "Give me strength"! :wideeyed::bomb: Seriously, this would have killed me! :dead: Oh, and about the banter before "Crack the shutters"... Oh dear, sometimes I'm just lost for words considering Gary's randomness... :rolleyes3:

You know, I have no clue at all about whom you're talking about...:lol::awesome: Thanks, Sarah, for posting the photos! As Bianca said, I really like that special green one. ;) @Roos: I know I've said it like a thousand of times already, but I just have to say it once again here as well: The photo's so damn cute! It's just so heartwarming, I don't know. :cheesy: I also love that smirk of Nathan. :dead: For some reason, he always seems to put it up for the photos.

Aww Roos, thanks a lot for taking the time to write such a nice review! I enjoyed reading it! :) People ignoring the fact that you were there waaaay before them sucks a lot, but I'm glad you still managed to get in first! And well, what can I say? Excellent choice with the spot between Gary and Nathan! Love the story about your & your sister's sign SO much! It sounds so cute, I can absolutely imagine the situation! :cheesy: And yay for Nate giving your sister a pick, he's such a sweetheart! 2,5 hours of waiting is quite some time! I remember when Anna and I waited in that chilly night in London in November for ages because all the boys left the aftershow party seperately and at different times... But hey, it's always SO worth it indeed! Just look at your cute photos. The one of Nate and your sister just warms your heart!

Thank you all of you guys, I'm really glad to hear that you like the photos so much! :nice: @Sarah: I can understand you... But you know, who could have known that they'd come out this time fairly early? As I said, in London it was 2 am or something when they came out... Anyways, you really need to meet them someday, too! And I'm sure it's going to happen! Cping-Karma ftw! :) @Bianca: Haha, I know. It's kind of suprising (or even frightening ) how many of Gary's phrases and typical words I've adopted. At least in the written form. And oh dear, please don't make me blush! But thanks for those kind words, it's really appreciated! And I'll definitely take that "Next time we'll conquer the front row..."-sentence for granted, you know that, don't you? ;) And haha, true story. I was actually surprised we didn't freak the hell out of the two people between us... Really, I actually somehow felt sorry for them, but I couldn't stop talking with you, either. Otherwise I'd have burst.

Aww, Anna! Glad to hear you enjoyed reading the review. :) Haha yeah, the whole car-signing-idea was so crazy! My friend actually got quite a weird look from Gary, but then he must have thought "Why not?". He also said that this was probably the weirdest thing he'd ever signed! Now, the car's like sacred. Looking forward to driving in it to Amsterdam. :D And yes, it'd be awesome to meet up again soon! Everytime I think about the great time we had in Düsseldorf and London it just makes me smile! :) @Roos: You know, I can hardly wait for your review! From what I've seen on your photos, I assume you probably must have had an equally great night! :) @muzika: Totally understand you! I feel very lucky to have been able to see them quite a few times and meeting them certainly is the cream of the crop! Crossing my fingers that you'll get the chance to see them someday soon, too! @Sarah: Thanks! And oops, totally forgot that you had your camera with you as well! So I guess you have some fairly decent Nathan-snapshots, too? Well, you know who'd love to see them... :wink3::D @Kimmi: Haha yeah, you should have seen it in real! When I was filming I really tried to be silent, but I just couldn't repress my laughter as it was so deadly funny! Gary also honked just for the fun of it. It's a shame it isn't on the video. :laugh3:

The Snow Patrol Thread
So, Bianca wants me to write a review... Now, that's her own fault because she knows how forgetful I am, so I guess she'll have to add/edit quite a few parts simply for the fact that I tend to mix up things quite easily... But anyway, here's what (I think) I remember and it's dedicated to Bianca, just for the sake of it: My friend and I arrived at the venue probably way too early as there were only a few people there, sitting on the "balcony" of the venue and just enjoying the nice weather. No one had started queuing yet and it didn't look like anyone would start during the next time, so we just sat on the meadow in front of the Tempodrom and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. :) Two or three hours later some people I (unfortunately) know from other gigs, set up their camp (it really looked like that!) right in front of one door, so we were actually forced to start queuing as well or otherwise it wouldn't have made much sense to be there that early, would it? Leaning with the back on the window, we could first hear Foals' soundcheck (at least I thought it was them) and later the boys' soundcheck as well. They actually took quite some time for that one this time around and I'm not used to that. I remember hearing bits of "Open your eyes", "Spitting Games" and "The Lightning Strike" which made me feel really excited because all four times I'd seen them so far I'd never got the chance to hear the entire "The Lightning Strike", so my hopes were high for this evening. :D Later, Sarah arrived as well and now we were only waiting for Bianca to arrive, but even 5 minutes before the doors opened she still wasn't there which actually almost caused a heart attack on my side! It took another 10 minutes until they opened the door and all I could think of was just praying for Bianca to arrive in time. When I was in the venue I managed to get a quite decent spot in the front row on the right side between Gary and Nathan. I tried to take as much space as possible (for Bianca) but the woman on the right just ignored that fact. :dozey: But oh well... Right in time, the supporting act (Foals) entered the stage and I already liked them after they'd played the first song. To be honest, I didn't understand a word of the vocals, but I enjoyed what I heard and you really felt like dancing. I just wish their set was a tad longer as they only played about 20-25 minutes... So I'm really looking forward to seeing them again. :) The boys entered the stage at about 21.10 with a totally new opener! As Bianca already mentioned, it sounded a bit techno-ish and the light and laser show actually reminded me quite a bit of "Politik", I don't know. ;) Then they burst into "Open your eyes" which is totally new as this was usually one of the last songs they played... ;) But the changes in the setlist and the new "stage design" (or whatever you want to call it) weren't the only things you noticed immediately: Both Pablo and Gary had been at the hairdresser's (thank God for that in Gary's case :lol:) and Nathan's got what seems to be a totally new eye-catching tattoo on his left forearm - a big rose! :stunned: Right after the first few minutes you could really feel and see that they were bursting with energy. They seemed entirely happy to be back on stage and very content with themselves. Everybody was smiling most of the time and especially Gary couldn't stop grinning for a minute! It was really nice to see him so happy and balanced - I really think the little break has done him more than good. :) After the third of fourth song he took off his jacket and instead of keeping it on stage, he threw it right into the audience and the people standing there obviously went nuts. Afterwards you could see some people holding a black cloth in their hands - they must have ripped the whole thing into pieces! :stunned: Poor nice jacket, it looked so stunning on Gary... :\ Anyways... Unfortunately, they were having some tricky technical problems as at some points Gary's "in ears" or his guitar wouldn't work (that's when he suggested continuing the whole gig acapella ) and the whole sound seemed to be rather overdriven... Gary explained that it wouldn't be a proper SP-gig if everything worked properly anyway and said that there must be some "(fucking) gremlins fucking up their (fucking) gear" (his words, not mine! xD). :laugh3: I can't remember when it exactly was but at some point Gary noticed a sign reading "Make this go on forever...". He asked the girl to give the sign to him, so he read it aloud on stage again and really seemed to like the hearts on it, it was just too cute to watch. :) Then he explained that it wasn't on the setlist but that they would play it and before playing he said "Love is forever. Or sometimes it's just for one night. Not that I am suggesting anything.":lol: During "Hands open" (which was one of the first songs) he jumped off the stage, stood right in front of some people and continued singing there. It looked quite nice. :) Our dear Gary also quite obviously forgot a few lyrical parts here and there, just like always (for example in "Crack the shutters" and "Chocolate"), but I guess it wouldn't be a proper SP-gig if Gary remembered all words - it's impossible anyway. :laugh3: One of the highlights of the evening was "You could be happy". Gary sat down at the front of the stage right next to one of the security guys and touched/stroke his shoulders at some point. That guy, however, didn't move the slightest and didn't care for Gary at all! Gary must have found it really funny and singing the part "Somehow everything I own smells of you" he couldn't stop laughing. Afterwards he said that he probably touched that guy's heart and soul, or something like that. Speaking of "You could be happy"... I must say that I loved the fact that they kept at least a bit of the "reworked"-feeling to some songs, like in this song or also in "Chasing Cars". By the way, Bianca and I had the idea of requesting "Warmer Climate", so Bianca held up the sign and Gary noticed it. But he said it was such an old song (liar!) and that he couldn't remember it, but that he was impressed that someone even knew that song and thanked her for that. But bless him, that's not how he can get out of that! I promise we won't give up on that one that easily. :sneaky::D Oh by the way, some of my much loved Gary & Nathan "action" was going on, too, unfortunately not during "Crack the shutters" (shame on them), but during "Hands Open" and some various parts of the show. I'm such a sucker for that and obviously took some really cute photos... :D I have also to admit that I couldn't make up my mind whether to watch Gary or Nathan... But since I was so close to Nate and since I totally love his "moves" on stage, I took loads of photos of him, he's just such a "cool cat". Even got a smile for that at some point. So, about the encore... They really played all three parts of "The Lightning Strike"! No screen had been used until then, but the black curtain at the back was let down and the famous animation could be seen. :) Can't explain how excited and happy I was that I finally got to hear the other two parts in all their glory! "You're all I have" kept its position as the last song of the night and I'm glad about that as I think it's simply the best song to end an amazing show like that! After the gig, the three of us kind of compulsory made our way to the "back" entrance, but since it was so obvious to find, I guess more than 50 people were waiting there already! :stunned: Considering this fact, I wouldn't have blamed the boys for not coming out and taking their time, but shortly before 12 o'clock, Gary was the first to come out and he took an awful lot of time taking as many photos as were requested, talking to the people and making sure that everything was signed that was given to him! Bless his heart, what balls to come out that early even though so many people were waiting! He really deserves my greatest respect as he was his usual generous self, just a true sweetheart! We'd actually waited until all the others had got what they wanted and then went to Gary. He then signed the first Tired Pony autographs ever () and we also tried to convince him to play "Warmer Climate" at least once. I also told him that I'd been at their show at the Royal Albert Hall, how much I'd loved it and that he'd given so many people hugs and therefore I asked whether I could give him a hug instead. Moreover, since my friend loves driving and also obviously loves SP, she had the crazy idea of asking Gary whether he'd sign her car. So, she really asked him and Gary gave his okay. Oh dear, let me just tell, seeing Gary sitting in that tiny car trying to sign the car's sun shade was just one of the funniest things I've ever seen! After that Nathan came out and we asked him whether he remembered Bianca's sign and he even signed it and wrote that they'd try next time (ha, so now we've got it in written form and are able to blackmail Gary! :sneaky::lol:). He also hinted that he'd really seen me at the front (credits go to Bianca for hearing that, I somehow must've overheard it). We also told Pablo that playing "Warmer Climate" at least once live would be really great, but he didn't really seem to like the idea, saying that it was rather boring to play (he didn't say it like that, but that's what he meant). So, we didn't bother Jonny with the idea anymore, but he told us about his last experience in Berlin instead. For some unknown reason, Tom was nowhere to be seen and since their tourbus finally left, we assume that he must've probably got on the tourbus ages before the others even came out. But oh well, better luck next time (in Amsterdam). :) So, all in all, I had an amazing time and it was definitely one of the best gigs I've attended so far! It was also great to meet Sarah () and experiencing a SP-gig together with Bianca for the first time, even though we didn't manage to stand next to each other which was a pity since we always have an awful lot of stuff to discuss and laugh about. (Okay, this was probably the longest post I've ever written. Sorry about that. Hopefully I didn't bore the hell out of you folks. :uhoh: And Bianca: Here you are. Hopefully this review meets your expectations. But probably not. :P Well, I think you really know me well enough by now, so please don't hit me for having a "blank" on what were probably the best and most interesting things on that evening. ;))

The picture of Dorian Gray 8/10 I loved the book, so I was really looking forward to seeing the film. All in all, there weren't too many "wow"-moments, but it was pretty decently adapted and the actors did a great job (in particular Ben Barnes, quite obviously). :)

Oh no, having read that, I was so hoping they might open in Munich as well... But of course not. :( I guess that would have been too much to ask for. :dozey: DAMN! It'd have just been way too awesome! Plus that fact that they'd be the support act would have convinced me to keep my ticket for the standing area and even queue up early... Well, come on, One Republic?! I mean, seriously... :dozey: I'd have preferred either Kasabian or Interpol... But oh well, who am I to rant... I'm going to see the boys headlining twice anyway, I guess that'll make up for it. Still, it'd have been great to see them as a support act for once. I guess that would have felt more like "home" to me whatsoever. And I suppose they're doing the shows in the "East" because (if I remember correctly) they haven't played there on their tour yet whereas they've already been to Zürich and Munich (no idea about Vienna)...

Alice in Wonderland - 8.5/10 I didn't get to watch it in 3D, although I'd have loved to. Nevertheless, it was still eye candy and I really liked it, particularly because it reminded me so much of my childhood... Oh, the good ol' days. :wacky: I'd always loved the cat and the Mad Hatter and obviously Johnny Depp's acting was brilliant as usual. :) I wish there would have been more tea parties, they were my favourite part of the story when I was a little girl and I also loved the tea party in the movie, it was so hilarious.

Oh, how well Bianca knows me. :shy::lol::D Of course I wouldn't miss that chance! ;) In fact, I would've even considered to see them three times withing eleven days, but unfortunately those bloody shows were sold out waaay to fast... :dozey:

After having listened to it a couple of times already, I'm afraid I can't say that it has hooked me so far, either... I wouldn't say it's their worst song ever, though. It's just that it might sound very unfamiliar at the moment, but it was the same with "Spiralling"... Maybe it just needs time to grow on you... At least I hope so. Oh well, at least the lyrics do sound quite pretty in my ears. ;)

Steve Lamacq just played "Clear Skies", one of the songs of the forthcoming EP "Night Train", in his show... For anyone who's interested, someone's already uploaded it on Youtube: [ame= ] [/ame] Sounded pretty "weird" to my ears at first, but after having listened to it a few more times, I must say that I really like it, especially the chorus. And I love the xylophone, it's something different. :) Oh, and the guitar solo's epic as well! :stunned: It indeed is a catch tune. :nice: I also read that Steve said they'd play another song of the EP on Thursday. I wonder which song they'll choose... By the way, it's Tom's 31st birthday today, what a great day to premiere one of their new songs. :)

Anna, that's a pity. It'd have been so great to meet up with you again! :\ But oh well, you obviously have some other great things to look forward to. Especially going to London twice sounds extremely lovely indeed. :nice: Pff, Top-Stalker dürfen das ja wohl auch so. :P And Bianca my dear, you will HAVE to come, even if I have to drag you along with me. You simply have no other choice (and no excuses). This is our chance! :) Tell that to everyone who tries to stop you from going or otherwise I shall have a word with them. Clear? :D:lol: Phew, my classmates just confirmed that our prom won't be at that day. So, I guess I'm going. :) A friend of mine who's going as well will get my ticket for me tomorrow and then I'll see how I'll get there, probably by plane...

Aww, you know what? You just chose a video from my first SP gig. :) I loved that part, I thought it was SO hilarious! But I must admit that I didn't quite get the point when he talked about "kissing his abs" at that time, I only understood it afterwards. I also have a video of "Run", but I unfortunately didn't catch the stuff he talked before he played the song. But I DO have the part where the guy shouted out to Gary.:laugh3: His reaction was really cute. :nice: Just in case you're interested, here's the video: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwfrjuVi1iE]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwfrjuVi1iE[/ame] And yeah, I certainly agree with the both of you! Gary's outstanding communication talent is one thing why I love them so much. I think it's very unique and makes them special compared to many other bands. :)

Speaking of teir "Best Irish Band", here's the proof that they actually won: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lprGOi94oXw]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lprGOi94oXw[/ame] That just totally made my day. As sad as I am about the fact that they weren't there in person and didn't perform, I absolutely adore that video... :laugh3: Oh dear, poor Gary... I mean, if a non-talking Gary is not the weirdest thing ever, I don't know. :laugh3: Looks like they're having a fairly good time in L.A. ... Wouldn't mind if they came back soon, though. ;) Oh, and, I should say: Gotta loooove Nathan's acceptance speeches. Priceless.

I don't know if anyone here knew about it but our boys had been nominated for three Meteor Awards, the categories being "Best Irish Band", "Best Irish Album" and "Best Irish Live Performance". In the end, they won the award for "Best Irish Band" which makes me really happy for them, considering the fact that they beat U2 and Bell X1 after all. Plus I think they really deserve it. :nice: Although I must admit that it bugs me a bit that they didn't make it as "Best Irish Live Performance" as I think they'd have definitely deserved that one, too. ;) http://meteormusicawards.meteor.ie/ Oh, really? For some reason, I quite like that flute. I think it sounds kind of cute. :nice: And thanks, my dear! I can't stop staring at the photo, either.

Rate the latest movie you've seen
Sherlock Holmes - 9/10 Finally got to see it, I really wanted to see it so badly. :) I liked the story, although I must say that it was a wee bit complicated at times. Luckily I had my best friend with me who'd already seen it and could explain everything to me. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law were brilliant but I love the latter anyway. :D It was the first movie by Guy Ritchie I've watched and I think he did quite a decent job. :nice: Oh, and I also loved the whole atmosphere and of course the beautiful "picture" of the city of London. :cheesy:

Just feel like adding my two cents to the "song discussion". :nice: I must say that I can't really decide on which version of Olive Grove I like better... On the one hand, I prefer the "musical arrangement" (or whatever) of the first version but on the other hand I think Gary's voice sounds better on the 2009 version... I also adore the lyrics... Just let me be here, I won't tell anyone... I don't wanna wake up, I don't wanna wake up... And Cartwheels's actually my Reindeer Section favourite. Although I do get the point of it being a tad repetitive... However, I don't mind and it especially sounded absolutely amazing played live. :cheesy: I never really liked You are my joy, though. And I don't even know why.
