New Coldplay eh?
that's exactly the way it is.... I'm also a person who always has been missing songs in the style of the first two albums and I don't like ETIAW but at some point we have just to live with their development. Maybe the next era will be more darker when they finally find out that working with Eno is not the ultimate source of creativity. Then as Keddie has said we haven't heard the whole album yet, this makes a huge difference. If there were just tracks like Viva on the last LP I would not like it either. We will see what the next months will bring, maybe they just want to test which new songs receive the best reactions at the festivals.

Petition for ETIAW NOT to be in LP5
Most labels today publish a Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition of the album - ETIAW is such a typical bonus track for a Deluxe edition - yeah, or for the special Christmas edition with Christmas lights on it and it comes in a golden X-Mas present box and a red ribbon around it :laugh3: No seriously, I think they will put it on LP5 but when it is the last track on the album it does not really disturb anyone....they just should not leave out another great track because of it.

The 'negative' ETIAW discussion
yes that's also right - the sample should not be the main topic of the song An example for good sampling work in my opinion is Jenny from the block - bad song in itself but pimped up with some great samples from the 70s - and all the other popular RnB music from this time, in Rock music I cannot think of song which has a sample

The 'negative' ETIAW discussion
And if you really want to take a sample you should take a rather unknown one, give credits of course but then listeners would not associate the song with crap like this: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CV87-38W5R0&playnext=1&list=PLB01455BFB8838B95]YouTube - MYSTIC - Ritmo de la Noche - Simon Cowell[/ame]

The 'negative' ETIAW discussion
I'm also no big fan of this song. So happy that the other new songs played at the festivals are way better than this one. I would also agree that it is the most flat song Coldplay ever made....I think Coldplay just did this track to jump onto the dance trend in popular music and as a seller for the new album. It does not even come close to Viva la vida, although I always considered this to be one of their worse songs. ETIAW starts in the beginning with this awful sample which I always associate with Verona Feldbusch (German fans will understand ;)). Afterwards the verses always repeat this "stolen" melody, the vocals are not interesting, it is overproduced etc.. Yeah, live it functions a bit better but that does not change the fact that it will be on the studio album and sound very cheesy. The only things I appreciate about this song are the drums at the end and that it will be the final track on the album so I don't have to skip :D.

yep, Hurts like heaven is also my favourite at the moment - it's a fast fun track and a very catchy-tune ...so cold so cold cold....

Hey Snooker Champion 2008 :) yes you're right I'm also so happy to have the possibility to listen to Coldplay's music - they literally bring in so much more colour into my life (especially with their concerts). The first thing I thought about when I woke up today was the gorgeous concert yesterday night and I was not even there :D :D Except of ETIAW which has too much dance-tunes I'm very happy with all the new songs which have a lot of guitars and energy. And to be honest: they cannot wait so long with the release of the album when they played so many new songs months ago at festivals. We want to have it before the summer ends....much better than a release in the dark winter, the music fits much better into the summer.

Back to Coldplay .....of course it was an amazing show....it almost feels like you were there but with a much better view than usual :-)....the new songs are great....and teardrops just fit into the massive rain!!! And sure - Chris got some nice arms!!! :-) :-) :-) I'm looking forward to the new album and of a course the tour and I will be there whenever they will play in Germany. Nürburgring is not very far away from my home but this festival ist just too long and too expensive....:-( !!! Maybe it was even better to stay home and watch the live stream.

right - next time we are going together to a concert and dance to Every teardrop.. problems to stream the Korn concert muhahahahaha.....I hate this music and especially all fans of them, they are so arrogant and think this would be high quality music when it's just noise and aggressive shoutouts.....embarassing for humankind.....and it just shows the mood of this people.....calm down please and bring some postivity into this world. LOL - today is my statements day

welcome to Germany....:D just as I said a few pages before....this is typical for Germans, being boring and annoyed and always knowing a bit better and looking jealous at other people and no humour except of making fun about other people :veryangry2: still proud to be not 100 percent german....sorry but the majority of us is like that But anyway, this has to be a lucky day - a whole Coldplay concert live for free...it is so amazing.....

best POLITIK (my favourite song) version since A rush of blood to the head era - Chris sang it much more intensive than on the Viva tour I refound my love for COLDPLAY..... poor Chris lost his voice in Viva la vida .....does not matter....the song is one of the weakest anyway
