  1. Hey, guys I'm also joining the listening party - only 10 minutes to go :D
  2. mmh - well it is a very predictable song let's say it like that....no big surprise....too much Prospekt March for my taste....but it is definitely a grower and maybe a lead single has to be like this
  3. thx .....it's fun waiting for the release of a complete new song and chatting with other fans about it....
  4. Right moment to wake up - we are still waiting....only 15 minutes left... On which station will they play it first???
  5. yep, just in 35 minutes a new Coldplay aera will start officially- I'm so excited :guitarist: ....the Coldplay fan in me faded the last two years a bit but now it's all there again :D
  6. Beautiful artwork, reminds me of Starry night by Van Gogh.
  7. I don't want to dampen your euphoria. Finally we have a new song, it's a day to celebrate for us Coldplayers :). Well, I'm listening to it for the fourth time now. No question about it: the song is sweet and catchy and it will be fun to spend the Christmas Time listening to it. However, I don't think that the song in itself is a big progress when it comes to vocals and lyrics. The instrumentalization is good but Chris' vocals and the whole melody is as cheesy as you would expect it from a Christmas song. For this song it's ok but you could also recognised this developement on the Prospekt march EP and to some extent on Viva la Vida or X&Y. Because of that ,as someone also said before, I have the fear that it will be that case on the new album too. I want songs that are rougher, songs you can only fall in love with it when you're listening to it over and over again because they are so complex in their sound patterns. This kind of songs have the power to stay in your heart for your whole life; eg. Politik, A rush of blood to head, Amsterdam, Clocks, A whisper, Spies, Trouble and so many others. We know that Coldplay are able to create songs like this but the question is do they really want this anymore? They are producing more and more music for the masses but they may lose some of their real fans on their way to become the biggest band of the planet. This is just a warning sign (also a gorgeous song :D) - I'm still full of hope for the new album.
  8. I hope he is jokin' - if not :shocked2:
  9. Seems like we have a similar taste I would also agree to A whisper, it has such a dynamic instrumentalization and the focus is not on Chris' voice for a change.
  10. Das ist ja so toll - und schon wieder sind sie in Deutschland *PARTY* :D No and a lot of the regulary visitors are not so happy about Coldplay and Kings of Leons as headliners. Too soft for their taste....well I don't like the metal taste in my mouth either. I always considered going to Rock am Ring with my friends but only with a band like Coldplay on the giglist ...now it's seems like it could be my first time :smug:. Well, I will wait a little while because maybe they will also make a real tour in Germany next year and I would rather give 80 Euro for a whole concert instead of being on a festival with 2 or 3 bands I like and full of drunken metallheads who annoy me. If you have the money there is no need to camp - as a spoilt girl I won't do that for sure. Just jokin' - Coldplay are playing just on one day so there is no need to stay until the next day.
  11. Finally something new from our boys - that makes me want to write into the forum again :D.
  12. Well I really don't know what opinion to have about Eno, and that's rare for me :laugh3:. On the one hand I loved Viva la vida but I recognized in the last months that I did not want to hear a piece of it. Maybe I overlistened it or it's not my kind of music anymore. The real timeless classic is still A Rush of blood to the head for me and definitely for a lot of other Coldplayers too. But hey - do we know how Coldplay would have developed without Eno, maybe it would have been even worse. I don't think that Chris is able to write songs like AROBTTH anymore because his life changed so much. He's a big star, has a lot of money, a lovely family with beautiful children. The new happier and maybe more superficial style of music fits to his life. It really sounds ridiculous but if an artist go through bad times he makes the best albums. That does not mean I want him to go through that and make better music. That's just a principle if an artist puts so much emotion into his music.
  13. You're so right about that. In addition to this first post in months: Hello Coldplayers - was not here for a longer time and missed you guys .
  14. :laugh3: yeah you're right but I would not call them opportunists that's a huge euphemism! I would call them bored people who just want to tell their colleagues everything about it the next day!
  15. I think you're very wrong with your decision. It's not because I don't understand, I almost have the same view on it BUT you should give them some time before you won't be a fan anymore. At the moment I'm also in some kind of a Coldplay depression, not listening to them permanently for months, just one or two songs in weeks! Sometimes I also think that it's over but I keep on having in mind what will come next: We know that Coldplay will release some kind of acoustic album and they want to play in smaller venues...to me that's a real good sign that they want to go back to their rootes. It shows that they are aware of it and care about the whole thing, maybe also for themselves because such a gigant stadion tour is hard enough for everyone of them. I cannot think of Coldplay disappointing us...I don't know another band who care so much about their fan's wishes.
  16. Actually I could not listen to this song for a long time but today it's Viva la vida - sometimes I just love happy Coldplay music :)
  17. Great story! I hope you will get the group picture soon. You will never forget this amazing moment in your life and thanks for the video. Nice of Jon giving the marker to Guy after the photoshoot, he remembered your shirt was still incomplete....he is so regardful :)
