The Goldrush Society!
I would also like to be a member in this group. I love this song ever since it was released. Everytime I listen to it it cheers me up. Actually Chris has studied History and I love it that there are historic references in some of their songs but The Goldrush is a whole song about a history topic. It sounds like it was recorded in a bar in the USA 200 years ago in the times of Goldrush. It could be a soundtrack for a movie dealing this topic or CP could also make a great video with all costumes and setting. Furthermore with their beards they all look like potential gold-diggers with or without costumes. :D

You're right - did not think of that :D

BBC6 Music: EMI says Coldplay 2010 album release is UNTRUE
I would like to believe Chris but anyhow the final word has the record company. Considering all the promotion that has to be done before the release it is also very expensive to bring out a new album from a such a big act like Coldplay. I'm also worried about the quality of the next album - if the record company is in trouble they will probably demand from CP that they will not change their style that much and I am not so fond of Viva la vida part 2.... :dozey:

Okay Chris we get it. Your feet don't touch the ground.

Favourite Coldplay line/quote
These ones for sure. But there are so many, such as like: "When I'm counting up my demons, saw there was one for every day with the good ones on my shoulder, I drove the other ones away" " He said I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war, if you can tell me something worth fighting for" "Look at earth from outer space, everyone must find a place, Give me time and give me space, give me real don't give me fake" "Spies came out of the water, and you're feeling so good cause you know, that those spies hide out in every corner and they can't touch you, no, Cause they're just spies" "They are turning my head out, to see what I'm all about, keeping my head down, to see what it feels like now, but I have no doubt, one day the sun will come out" "Created than drilled and invaded, if somebody made it, someone will mess it up"

Coldplay : rock , pop or alternative rock
With the words of Chris: Soft rock :) Well I would say: Parachutes -> Indie/Alternative Rock A rush of blood to the head -> Alternative Rock X&Y -> Rock/Pop Viva la vida -> Rock/Pop Though we do not like to hear it but a lot of songs Coldplay are making now are just Pop.

Are you happy that you like coldplay?
In my case it's really strange because I nearly used to hate CP when I was younger. OK the expression hate is maybe a bit too strong but I really did not like them when I was in my teen years. I've been always very interested in music, listening to a lot of genres mostly Pop, Rock and RnB but with Coldplay I could not do anything for years. Paradoxically I've still noticed them from time to time. I've known them since they brought out Trouble but it was just boring music to me. Later even Clocks could not appeal to me and from X&Y I only knew Fix you and Speed of sound - I did not like anything of them. Indeed there were moments in those years when I slightly began to admire them. I liked the piano parts from the songs I've known of them and Chris' appearance on stage. I remember reading an article about Chris' being awarded for his piano play ( off topic: does anyone when that was and which Award it was????) and I said to myself - well maybe he really deserves it. Though I did not like Chris as a person too, I did not like his jokes and his behaviour (so stupid of me I know :D) - it was just a kind of an appreciation for his talent that I obviously regconized back then. The other band members I've never noticed anyway. So years went by and even when they brought Viva la vida in 2008 I did not care much - though I've noticed that they have uploaded Violet hill as a free download on their website. I was like "oh what a nice touch of them" but that was it. Then in July 2008 finally the moment came: I started liking Coldplay, just because I've listened to Trouble in a movie and I have fallen so deeply in love with this song because it fitted into my current situation at the moment. Then I've bought Parachutes and I slowly noticed what a gorgeous band they are - so I call myself a fan since August 2008 and I never had any regrets with it since then. Coldplay just changed my life and also my taste of music, I began to like some songs of Snow Patrol or Indie Bands. Now I'm listening to a lot of other stuff then a few years ago. And CP also is responsible for the fact that I've found my second favourite band - the Howling Bells. I would have never know about them if I was not at the Coldplay concert last year. So I'm very happy that I love Coldplay - I'm also lucky to have found this forum with all that nice Coldplayers in here. I've never made any bad experiences being a fan of them though most of the people in my environment do not like them. I always use to say: They still did not managed to get any access to the lovely Coldplay music - just like me some time ago. I only regret that I did not begin to like them earlier - I had chances enough.

Post pictures of the gorgeous Chris
Hi :D I like it because the thought of Chris being arrested like Charlie Sheen or Hugh Grant just makes me laugh. I wonder what would be the reason for the arrest? Stealing cake from Jonny???

Coldplayers meet-up in London, Summer 2010 - UPDATED 4/7/2010!!
Poor hotel management and guests - a whole horde of diehard Coldplay fans - this will be some tough weeks for them. :laugh3: I'm looking forward to it too - the chances are getting better that I can be put onto the Sure list.

Gwyneth...
Madonna surely has some nice songs and albums. I loved to listen to Ray of light and to a lot of her 80s' stuff when I was younger. But as a person I think she is horrible.

Why Do YOU Listen To Coldplay?
One question - so many answers to it... At first because I adore almost all of their songs. Very important point for me: Because they create moods and reinforce atmospheres with their music. Because their music and the band is unique. Because their music always brings light into my life. Because I love listening to Chris Martin's voice, Johnny Buckland's guitar playing, Guy Berryman's bass playing and Will Champion's drumming - all the four of them are so talented musicians. Because they know how to write amazing music and how to apply their instruments. Because their lyrics are profound but not that much to get lost in them. Because I can relate to their lyrics. Because their music is so multifaceted even so they do not lose their characteristic style. Because their music can make me thoughtful of so many things in life. Because their music can change my view on life (like Stargirl said before but she's so right with it) Because they are an amazing live-band. Or just because their music touches my heart.

Gwyneth...
Except of the fact that she has a close friendship to Madonna I'm ok with her. Don't get me wrong: I'm ok but not enlighted with her ;) She's ok as long as she makes Chris happy.
