Fan bases are different I think.
  4. Last of the men in hats hops off the coil And a final scene unfolds inside Deep in the rain of sparks behind his brow Is a part replayed from a perfect day Nice review Jen :)
  5. The girl front roll 2nd from left (with glasses) reminds me of my brothers ex-long-term-girlfriend.

IIRC, Best Band, Best Live Act & Best Single are voted for by the public, the rest are voted for by the so-called experts, who prob thought they would be a rebel and fight against the machine and not vote for coldplay.
  7. If Warchild decide to release a DVD/CD of the performance would you buy it?

For the awards not voted for by the public, 1000 musical experts are selected from all over the musical world who cast their vote. The awards voted for by the public are voted for by the public. I agree they forgot about the UK last year, apart from 3 weeks at the end of the year where they forgot about the South outside London & Wales, and for the start of the promotional machine. I think the reason why the stadium gigs haven't sold out is because of the price of the tickets, £50+ a ticket is too much in this current era.
  9. Or maybe they got taken in by Duffy's attempts at making a 60's soul sounding album. At least chasing payments didn't win anything
  10. Twice you say? I know they were nominated for the award back in 2001 for Asleep in the back but lost out to PJ Harvey and won it in 2008 for Seldom Seen, but as far as my memory goes for leaders and cast they won't nominated.
  11. Correction, as phone votes were 35p from a BT landline (more from other networks and mobiles), people didn't have the money to mass-vote for Coldplay, as they have done in the earlier rounds. I bet there will be some 12 year old girls' mum opening up her next phonebill and saying to little Lily "Lily, why is there 100 items+ on this phone bill for 35p each voting in the Brit awards?", and little Lily will reply "well it was for Girls aloud they are so wicked mum, I wanted to win, yeah". If they allowed web-voting in the last round it might have been different. As for best live act, the metal fanbase got it's wheels into motion and voted on-mass.
  12. In the mid-weeks, U2's comeback single wasn't even in the top 10 of the 'singles' chart ;) It's only 18th in the current iTunes track chart, so it's not just you which thinks it's dreadful Mark, it looks like the U2 fans think it is dreadful and not buying it.
  13. I bet you wouldn't have said that if the dice rolled the other way last night. It's the same with all awards, they are slightly the best awards ever if the band you like does well, but are pointless and joke if the band you like doesn't do well. Like the League Cup, last year to Man Utd fans it was a mickey mouse cup, but suddenly they are in the final and it's no longer a mickey mouse cup, but will return to being a mickey mouse cup if spurs win
  14. LOL Iron Maiden won because they had the entire Metal fan-base doing a Belle & Sebastian and voting for Iron Maiden to win, they had metal magazines supporting the cause. Elbow won best band because people have finally opened their eyes and ears to the band after toiling the past 15 or so years, and they deserved it, and hopefully it will lead them onto greater things, although topping The seldom seen kid will be hard to do. Might I suggest watching this video: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijDsMdRFlIw]YouTube - Guillemots - Get Over It[/ame] And get over it
  15. The UK isn't as good as people make it out to be, a country in recession whose economy won't recovered before 2011, businesses going bust everyday due to the weakness of the pound etc.
  16. 2 of the headliners are british, 2 of the headliners are American. Blur, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen are strongly rumoured to be 3 of the 4, that just leaves a Coldplay/Radiohead sized hole as the 4th headliners, co-heading Saturday night with Neil Young. What I love about Glastonbury is that it has sold out, without many band confirmed to play (compared to T-in-the-Mud, which is shouting out "we have this band and that band" in an attempt to get people to buy tickets). But back on topic, only time will tell, will it be Coldplay, will it be Radiohead, or will it be someone else?
  17. This is when the main coldplayers party will be split up over the 4 (or so) entry gates for pitch standing and unreserved seating :(
  18. It sounded like a late night. Hopefully nobody got caught up with closed tubes etc.

  20. Mr Eavis is talking about having 4 headliners this year, with the saturday night have co-headliners. Coldplay co-heading with Neil Young anyone?
