19-Sep-2009: Wembley Stadium, London - Tickets, Previews, Meetups, Reviews/Photos
There are entranced labelled A though to P, each has about 10 turn-stalls operated by an automatic machine, where you insert the ticket bar-code in first, the green light flashes and you can enter the stadium onto the security teams. The only beer on sale is carlsbrough for £4 per bottle (poured into a cup), I couldn't see other alcohol for sale, soft-drinks are a rip-off also (£2 for a bottle of water, £3.00 for a cup of syrup & soda water), hot food meal-deals range in price from £7 to £9 (item, chips & soft-drink). any other questions?

It was :) Although saturday show main support comes from Glasvegas, whom i don't think will get the crowd worked up as Guy did, nor have any mass singalongs to A day like this. Right the energy rush has started to come off, so nightie night :D

There are toilets, cash point and food stands outside! Plus nearby is a place to buy a bed, plus a largish Asda within walking distance :)

How to sneak cameras inside
They didn't check the cameras last night :) (even though the tickets say No Camera/Video/Rec on the front of them, interestingly though your not allowed balls in the stadium) You go though the automatic ticket barriers into the search team, but with a lotta people to get though they ain't that picky

On the signs outside the door saying what you can't bring in, food isn't mentioned, so people were taking in their own food, soft-drinks have to be put in cups. U2 played for 1h45 ish, taking into account 2 encore breaks.

Although: Da Stage http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v675/MrDaveS1986/IMG_0920.jpg If you look at pictures of that very same stage in the other stadiums it has been in, it puts the size of wembley into some sort of picture, the roof of the spider only just comes up-to the bottom of level 5 seating! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v675/MrDaveS1986/IMG_0970.jpg Bono and the Edge on the outer circle Good picture of the edge http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v675/MrDaveS1986/IMG_0970.jpg The arch at night: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v675/MrDaveS1986/IMG_1014.jpg

Coach ride up to Wembley was fun, as the M25 was being the M25 and being the world's largest car-park, so the coach driver came off early on the M4 and headed to the North Circular, getting back onto the right road, but he didn't turn left when he was meant to turn left and ended up going around the houses to get to the coach park (where they weren't that many coaches (20 or so, lots more cars), which was good, in the time between gates opening and the time I arrived I went for a walk around the outside of the stadium. Gates opened 15 minutes late due to a late security alert, but instead of having someone scan your tickets for you, you put the tickets into the readers yourself and if the light flashes green you can push the barrier forward getting into searching area. You can take in whatever food you want to, and drinks have to be transferred to plastic cups, they didn't check cameras. Seats are easy enough to find, but I was high up. As for support bands I think the first were The Hours, whom were a typical nme indie landfill style band, as in they had nothing new. Elbow were rather excellent, all but one song was from seldom seen, some good singalones, and Guy forgot the words to the first song of their set :P Food is expensive, just under £8 for a cheese burger, chips and a drink (beers were £4 each!), U2 were pretty good, started off with some new songs from the album, before hitting into the classics, I'm sure a set-list will surface at some point :) Afterwards finding the bus was easy, where I went to sleep after 30 or so minutes, getting out was a nightmare with all the traffic, I slept for a good hour or so, and as soon as I got into the car I had one of my energy drinks giving me a boost for the drive home, so I'm a bit high at the moment. Pics and videos later :)

God I was high up (row 28 out-of 30, in level 5), good view of the stage though, although they looked like ants: Either the stage is tiny or Wembley is massive inside :P hopefully some of my videos will be half-decent, you might not see much but you might hear some stuff :)

Advantage of reserved seats, you can go out for the toilet/buy stuff without running the risk of attempting to get back to your spot

MICHAEL JACKSON OR COLDPLAY ?
True Jacko was the king of pop, however he didn't do anything of real musical talent since 1991's Dangerous record, HIStory & Invincible weren't upto his usual high standards. However he changed music more than Coldplay has changed music so in that sense he is better and if you don't count his personal troubles he is better, however his personal stuff can't be overlooked. So Musically it be Jacko, overall it be Coldplay

Realistically you can make your fake accounts from tonight Hopefully Ian will create the subforum some-point in the next 12 hours, so can you please keep all Alias postings within that sub-forum to stop the chaos of the lounge mixing alias threads up with the usual stuff :) Konny Kitey

Radiohead
I was suprised when I was reading a random rubbish email from HMV promoting it's latest stuff when I noticed the following 3 links: http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?sku=16312 http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?sku=16315 http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?sku=16311 Interesting to see the remaining 3 EMI albums are getting the collectors edition treatment, and the first I have heard of it (cos I've been living under a rock for the past 6 months :P)

U2
Finally, booked :) It was a choice of either £35 for the back of the stadium or £85 for the sides or £150 for stage-side tickets. As i'm cheap I went for the £35 tickets, which after ripoffmaster's various fees came to £45. And that's with unsecured post, the only way to pick up tickets. Never-the-less I'm sure ticketmaster will fuck something up between now and August like they always seem to do *goes to the sea-side for some sunbathing*
