So what did you guys do with your day off? I played around with Flash and made something for you... An absolutely infuriating game I call... The Great Coldplay Song, Album, and Video Identification Game! Last time I gave the winners a couple of CD singles but I'm afraid I have no extras at the moment, so this time the prize is a set of magnets like the ones I showed here. I haven't made the magnets yet but I will this week and the winner's set will include a miniature Left Right Left Right Left. :) I managed to put this together without breaking my hiatus, because I put iTunes on mute to get the video grabs. Run through the official Discography before you start if you're not familiar with album covers. There are also video stills and a few lyrics to identify. I've run through it twice so I'm pretty sure there are no bugs, but it's infuriatingly difficult. 50 questions, and TIMED. You're not allowed to miss one or you go back to the start. My first game I got a lot of complaints about it being too hard so this time it's EVEN HARDER. I'd like to know too, because I lived in Toronto but couldn't see the states, even from the top of the CN Tower. :inquisitive:

I've familiarized myself with Snow Patrol's Final Straw and decided the 2nd album by Headlights isn't as good as their first album, but it's okay. Next week at work I'm hoping to get some 'reading' done, if I can find some good books-on-CD at the library. I might just make it the 14 days but probably not. Fun! I did that on Friday at work to prepare for my hiatus. Started with Blue Room, then Brothers and Sisters, Parachutes, AROBTTH, X&Y, VLV, and ended with PM just before it was time to go home. Took 4 and a half hours, IIRC. :) Thanks! I actually found the Final Straw CD used but it doesn't have either of those songs, so I will check them out. (Since they'll probably play their most known songs) :) All right, time to get some work done. I guess I'll listen to some Death Cab today. ::sigh::

Day One of my 14 day hiatus just ended (at 6:30--concert time, you see). So far so good. I made a safe playlist of everything BUT Coldplay, so I can listen to it on shuffle and not notice there's no Coldplay. But I do notice. :\ *sigh* I hope this doesn't backfire. I don't want to be so burned out by June 5th from depriving myself that I don't even care anymore. Has anyone else tried anything like this or am I just out of my mind crazy? ;) On Tuesday I'm going to find some Snow Patrol to listen to at work for the next week, since they'll be opening that show, and I'd like to know the music. So that'll be a nice distraction. :D

Just do what I do and NEVER TAKE THEM OFF. :D That way they don't break. Question though--did yours get harder after a few months? My old ones from November are rock-hard, and I am wondering if it's just the rubber aging or if it has to do with all those months of hot showers. Cynic. :rolleyes:

The website has said that since 2008--they mean July 14th of last year. :) Whether they're selling them during this round of shows; I'm not sure, but hopefully so. At the KC show last Nov I had to specifically ask for them, so if you're at the concessions and don't see them, just ask. They might be hidden. ;)

I was thinking today that Blue Room is the only release that doesn't have a title track. With the exception of LeftRightLeftRightLeft, which IS a song; we just don't get to hear it because Will doesn't like it. :p So that got me wondering--was there ever a song called The Blue Room? Where does that name come from?

Hey I for one am willing to wait a year or two for album five if it means getting to see the Viva tour live again. ;) Yes, it's true touring makes them way way more money than selling albums, but I sincerely don't think the guys are touring again just for the money. They wouldn't have bothered with this second round if they didn't have the energy and enthusiasm to perform live. Come on, it's obvious they love it. :)

^^^ Something else about the Brothers & Sisters releases--the CDs are different. I didn't realize this 'til my 1999 UK release arrived (far right -- 2003 US release is in the middle) I believe the 2003 UK release looks the same but I'm not sure.

I was going to post a link to it but the thread's been deleted. :\ I had an extra Talk Live in Holland CD3 from an eBay auction, so I created this sort of Coldplay-themed internet scavenger hunt. Natster won, and kmm1482 came in at such a close second (within 10 minutes) that I had to send him something too. I'll be doing another game as soon as I have something else to give away. ;) It's actually going to be a flash-based pick-the-song game where you'll see either album art or a still from a video and you have to click which song it is within 5 seconds--get it wrong and you're sent back to the beginning! It's gonna be uber hard.

Yes but those are his ONLY four posts! ;) Er, so I talked to my friend tonight and mentioned this thread, and it turns out he wants his copy after all. Nevermind that I bought the tickets, he is doing all the driving to get there, so... Sorry, guys, I realize the odds were already against you who needz spare, but I no longer haz spare. But don't worry-they'll be all over eBay over the next few months. :) And as the market gets flooded the price will only go down. :D (edit: Keep me down for 2 possible spares on July 24th though. I still might go to that concert. It really depends on how much my auto repair bill is tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed that nothing majorly is bad with my car. ;))
