November 24, 2009 - submitted by Sarah, United States of America Q. Hi, Oracle, I'm 17 and I have an issue I really need help sorting out. There is a chance I could be pregnant, but I really have no clue as to what I should tell my parents. I know they'd be angry if I told them. But they'd be just as angry if I didn't. My boyfriend is very loving and kind, and he promised to stay by my side through everything. So a part of me says that I don't need to tell my parents. But all the same, I don't want to lie to them. The Oracle replies: Sweetheart, if there's a "chance" you may be pregnant the first thing you need to do is find out for sure! Go to a family planning clinic or doctor and take a test then if you are; tell your parents. They may be angry, hurt and disappointed but at the end of the day they are your parents and you will need to tell them. The longer you leave it the harder it will be to both hide and then consequently tell them. If you are carrying their grandchild once they have got over their initial reaction to the news, they will hopefully be a great source of support and comfort.

November 23, 2009 - submitted by Allie, United States of America Q. Hello Oracle! I just read the 109th Roadie 42 blog, about The Beehive, and I was wondering if the studios used by the band for Parachutes, A Rush Of Blood To The Head, and X&Y had names too, like The Bakery for Viva La Vida. Thanks a bundle! The Oracle replies: The studios where the first three albums were recorded had names of course but were already well established as studios; Rockfield, Parr St and Sarm Studios were used.

November 23, 2009 - submitted by Robin, Germany Q. Um... there is this difficult decision I have to make... So we are 3 boys and 2 girls in sort of a band. The girls sing, but it seems like they don't want to sing anymore after a few weeks. Should we - the boys - kick them out? I mean, we all are good friends, we're in the same class, and we wouldn't want to ruin that! What should I do? Thank you! The Oracle replies: Don't make this a boys versus girls issue. It's a band issue plain and simple. Arrange a band meeting and ask each member whether they are committed to the band and anyone who isn't can leave. For it to have a chance of working everyone has to put the effort in. If this is just a hobby to them maybe you need to establish that. You can still be friends but don't let the meeting turn into a fight. You said you are in "sort of a band" so that begs the question, are any of you actually committed? Think seriously about why you are doing it and what you want to achieve because you all need to have a shared goal or it won't work.

November 23, 2009 - submitted by Claire, United States of America Q. I want to send mail to Coldplay but I am not sure if I should send it to them through email or snail mail? If I send it through snail mail, is the address below the right address? c/o PO Box 246 Cheadle SK8 9AF Thanks in Advance, Claire The Oracle replies: This is a perfectly timed question. That address will be defunct in a week's time so please do not use it for any correspondence as it will not make it! There may be an alternative address set up in the future but for now snail mail is no longer a viable option. If you want to email please only use the [email protected] address unless you are contacting me or Anchorman. So for anyone who was thinking about sending X-Mas cards/pressies ... seems like there's no delivery for Coldplay this year ... Have the guys been too naughty :wink3: :sneaky:

Yep, National Football League Of Europe. It was some sort of offshoot of the NFL who also put money into the NFLE. They sent rookie/players who didn't make the draft to Europe to get some practice. We've had 8 teams (I think it was 8) over here in Europe, 4 of them in Germany. There was the Sea Devils in Hamburg and I really loved going to the games. They stopped the league some 3 - 4 years ago as the NFL was tight with money and the attendance didn't meet the expectations of the officials :( The games were even broadcasted to the US on Saturdays at around noon ;) It was funny when the guy with the red glove came onto the field because there was a commercial break in the US so they interrupted the game :laugh3: Though at some point it got a little annoying ;)

Concerts, travelling, girls talk ... just total randomness ;) I see you're from near Green Bay :) Have been a huge Packers fan in former years. Thought Dorsey Levens was ace (okay, there are probably better Runningbacks around but still ...) :) Have you ever followed the NFLE? We've had a team in our city playing in that league. I miss them a lot

Has it ever occured to you that the shape of these chocolate Santas and Easter Bunnies are exactly the same?! I am somehow convinced that they only change the foil/wrapping around it and redeliver them to the shops :inquisitive: :sneaky: So actually the Santas in the shop are Bunnies in disguise or the other way round ;) Well .. I reckon' people must thing I ate some funny stuff today ;) :P :laugh3:

November 19, 2009 - submitted by Jonathan, United States of America Q. Is the Thin White Duke who remixed Viva La Vida in any way associated with David Bowie? The Oracle replies: Certainly David Bowie used that moniker before Stuart Price (also a.k.a Thin White Duke) began using it for his remixes. That's where their connection with the name ends. FYI David Bowie was the curator/director of the Meltdown Festival back in 2002. In this role he chose Coldplay as one of the performers.

November 19, 2009 - submitted by Gabriela, Columbia Q. Dear oracle: Q. All my life I've had great grades at school, and I've always loved to study, basically all my life I have tried to be the best in the academic world, but it seems that from a time on all of these is falling apart and I don't know why, specially because I don't have any big problems that can cause this, I was wondering if maybe you could give some advice so that I can get back on track and stop failing all these grades... :D Thank you! Gab. The Oracle replies: The further you get into studying the harder the subject becomes. It can mean that although you were top of the class at secondary/high school you may slide at college/university. If you say that you don't have any big problems that could be causing your grades to suffer, be cautious that your concern over them doesn't become a problem. All you need to do is relax, stay focused, create a comfortable space for study and give yourself plenty of time to tackle the work. Try not to panic and take some pressure of yourself by not trying to achieve the highest possible grades. If it does continue, maybe have a word with your teacher/tutor for some more guidance. Good luck!

November 19, 2009 - submitted by Julia, United States of America Q. Dear Oracle, Could you ask the Curator if it is difficult to pick a new piece of art to show each day? Also, could you ask how many pieces are sent in each day? Thank you The Oracle replies: I asked... in the 2 weeks since the room opened its virtual doors there have been 2868 submissions so that's a little over 200 per day. And apparently it's very difficult because the standard is very high. It can't be harder than selecting questions here but anyway... I'll take this opportunity to mention that the Curator does their thing and I do mine so I'm wondering why I am getting a lot of questions sent in about it. Folks there really is no point sending me notes telling me that your friend has submitted a great piece of work and you're upset it's not up. Or that you yourself have submitted and want to know if you should assume it's rubbish. I leave all those decisions to the Curator but as I just mentioned if it's getting 1434 entries per week and only 5 are displayed the odds of being chosen are greatly reduced. Similarly to the Oracle section this doesn't mean it won't appear in the future so I guess that's something we do have in common.

November 18, 2009 - submitted by Marta, Italy Q. DEAR ORACLE, I HAVE SEEN ON YOU TUBE THE VIDEO OF POLITIK AT THE GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL 2005, WHAT CHRIS SAID IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SONG? I DON'T UNDERSTAND...THANKS SO MUCH marta The Oracle replies: Are you shouting at me Marta or just trying to get my attention? Chris often changes lyrics of certain songs at shows to make the crowd feel more involved and so it's always relevant to where they are and what is going on. At [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RGFPA9KC-I]Glastonbury 2005[/ame] during Politik he changes the lyrics to: "Give me weather that does no harm Michael Eavis and Worthy Farm Give me mud up to my knee The best festival in history". Just to explain what those lyrics refer to... Glastonbury Festival has in recent years gained a reputation for its rain that ends with the site (Worthy Farm) becoming a mud bath and Michael Eavis is the founder of the festival which began in 1970.

November 18, 2009 - submitted by Dinehard, Taiwan Q. Almighty Oracle, Will there be a behind-the-scene video for Strawberry Swing video? I think that video is brilliant and I would like to find out how they made it. Thanks! The Oracle replies: That was a while ago now so it's unlikely. Anchorman interviewed the directors Shynola that tells how it was made so maybe you could check that out.

Messages from __***The Beehive***__ (FOUND! page 14...)
They just named it Beehive to finally start crediting Ian for all his hard work he's done over the past years with the site & the forum ;) They (that is Coldplay) should definitely invite him over for a tour around. And in case they don't want him to remember anything (where it is) they could pick him up somewhere in London, blindfold his eyes or put an old potatoe sack over his head and then drive to this place ;) Okay ... I've probably seen to many criminal films :D
