  1. Neeeiiiiinnn!!!
  4. October 30, 2009 - submitted by Sarah, United States of America Q. Hello Oracle! I was wondering in that picture of the Coldplay puppets in Corfu, what book are they reading? They seemed to be really into it. Thanks The Oracle replies: It was actually Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson.
  5. October 30, 2009 - submitted by Lauren, United States of America Q. Hey Oracle, I just saw the new pictures from the Great Penny Howle and I knew that she took a bunch of pictures of the boys back in the X&Y days, but was surprised to see pictures of hers from Wembley. So I was wondering, is she or was she sort of like the bands official photographer? Is she good friends with the band. All her stuff is brilliant by the way. She's one of my favorites! The Oracle replies: Penny was the much loved and respected official tour photographer during the X&Y tour. They invited her back to take shots at Wembley as they do have a great rapport together. Penny has a knack to get intimate shots without being intrusive. Given the close proximity to the band while she works, it's amazing that you almost don't notice her being there. I agree it was great to see her work again.
  6. So Ian (or whoever was responsible for the change/setting) ... what about a pumpkin favicon as well instead of the 'odd squares'? :D ;)
  7. Oh come on peeps ... This will just be for this weekend and I think it's kinda fun. :) Don't you think you can take it for these few days? And I can't wait to see the guys as pumpkin heads tomorrow ;) :laugh3:
  8. And as we are just at the topic ... I'd like to remind everyone once again to listen to a 'radio concert' which will be broadcasted on one of my local radio stations next monday (Nov. 2nd, 2009). http://www.ndr2.de/musik/radiokonzert/index.html They will air a concert which was recorded back in September in Berlin. Airing time is Monday, November 2nd at 9 pm (Central European Time, which is 8 pm GMT). You can also listen via webstream http://www.ndr2.de/musik/musik_specials/webradio124.html
  10. Chris has got quite an overbite according to this teeth ;) He's a delight to any oral surgeon who will gladly give him braces ;)
  11. October 29, 2009 - submitted by Alison, Australia Q. Hi Oracle I was lucky enough to be at the U2 show in Las Vegas recently, and to my great delight,at the end of Beautiful Day, Bono broke into a bit of "Lights will gu-u-u-u-uide you home...." , which was the highlight of the show for me :-) It didn't occur to me on the night, but I was wondering if Chris was at that show? The Oracle replies: Actually Alison, Chris was at that show yes.
  12. October 29, 2009 - submitted by Ainsley, Norway Q. I laughed so hard when I read the question that Joe from the US submitted. and your answer is false, it's BLACK BEARS. Just ask Jim Halpert, he agrees. Fact: Bears eat beets, bears beats battelstar galactica. peace out Mr.Elcaro, -Ains. The Oracle replies: Yeah I'm a fan so got The Office reference but thought the "correct" answer would really baffle people who'd never seen it. Any opportunity to big up the panda must be seized!
  13. October 29, 2009 - submitted by Helmut, Austria Q. Dear Oracle, have you ever seen Chris playing on the drums? We only see him on piano or guitar. I really wonder if hes able to play one or two of his own tracks on drums... Thank you so much! The Oracle replies: I have seen Chris play Will's drum kit during a Twisted Logic tour soundcheck a few years ago; Will was playing guitar and they were just jamming. During the demo sessions for A Rush of Blood... Chris recorded him playing most parts of some new song ideas during a Christmas break but those recordings were never in the public domain. It's not likely that we would see/hear him play drums in Coldplay because as you know, that position is filled.
  14. I reckon' they didn't expect anything like that so they probably needed a while to figure out which song it was ;) :laugh3:
  15. A little shaky voice :laugh3: But funny nevertheless :) I esp. like the bell, sounds not exactly like Will (as he's doing a lot more power-belling :laugh3:) but still ... ;) But Kudo's to the audience, they are doing pretty well with the VIVA 'Wooohoooos' :D Thanks for finding, Min :)
  16. Okay I had to come to this thread to do just one thing: SQUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :bomb:  :sunny: Around some 20 mins ago the postman rang the doorbell to deliver me my CP mexican tickets, Pris bought and then couried to Angie and Angie sent them over to me :) Thanks sooooo much you two lovely girls! See ya in Mexico! :)
  17. Like annie said, at least that's how I would see it. I mean, I've been there as well ... Everytime I go to a class reunion you meet your ex-class mates and often you are sursprised how they ended up to become successful/popular/fortunate. Back in school they were the biggest nerds, hardly any friends, no girl-/boyfriends aso. and yet they are successful in their jobs, completely changed their looks and have a nice/goodlooking wife/hubby and children and you say 'No way!??' when you just think back some 20 years and have her/his appearance in front of your inner eye. This has nothing to do with jealousy IMO but it's just about that you wouldn't have expected that certain people would turn out to be so popular/successful. It's just hard to describe ...
  18. So you mean they are playing 'Coldplay Monopoly'?? ;) Instead of buying ground and building hotels, they are building studios. :laugh3: :P
  19. Very interesting article, not because of CP mention but in general. We've had this topic in english class reading an article about the 'Tall Poppy Syndrom' which is somehow similar to this. Honestly I don't see it that much as whinging but more like reflecting :\ It's how you want to see things, I guess ... ;)
  20. Awww :) You're welcome! My pleasure :) Glad that you got it in one piece ;)
  21. Oh dear ... :laugh3: *sweeping the red wine into the sink* :embarassed: I guess I've had too much wine already ;)
  22. It's all about abbreviations ;) WTF = What The F*** ;) Couldn't let you die clueless :p
  23. Exactly! No one would blame Guy when teaming up with Mags from a-ha, so why shouldn't Chris be entitled to do Charity Shows esp. when he's so much concerned about the cause? I am pretty sure that the other 3 are more than happy about not having to show up there as well but instead being able to enjoy their time off ;)
  24. Not sad at all as I still got so many fantastic memories and met so many wonderful people along the concerts that it keeps the spirit up. :) There's no need to feel 'down' if you cherish your wonderful memories ;)
