Isn't it great, when you can dig out old threads like this?!? ;) Well, sometimes radio really is good for something. One of my local stations played 'Sometime Around Midnight' some weeks ago (yeah I know, old song) and I really loved it and ordered their CDs. Luckily All At Once arrived yesterday, as I'm going to see The Airborne Toxic Event live today in my hometown so I still had the chance to get familiar with their music :) I must say, I completely fell in love with 'Half Of Something Else'. Hopefully I'm allowed to come in here. I replied in the WOM MX ranking as well. I REALLY wanted to LOVE the new album, I honestly do but I just can't ... :embarrassed: And speaking of drugs, guess what?! I ate a Nutella roll and afterwards, Paradise sounded kinda acceptable to me :) Wondering how much Nutella/chocolate I need to eat before I either die of a heart attack or think that MX is a truly masterpiece ... :cool: :P

Nimm mir meine Frage nicht übel, aber wo hast Du denn diese 'Kritik' bzw. die einzelnen Passagen abgeschrieben?? :stunned: Ehrlich gesagt finde ich nicht unbedingt, dass da 'ne 'konsequente Weiterentwicklung' zu erkennen ist. Einige Tracks finde ich eher 'back to the roots' und im Ganzen passt der Mix der Songs überhaupt nicht zusammen und ich finde nicht, dass es ein 'Stadionalbum' ist, denn die Hälfte der Songs lassen sich ohne umfangreiche Back-Up-Vocals, Soundkonserven bzw. pre-recorded bits gar nicht live umsetzen. Und meiner Meinung nach sollte eine Band auch in der Lage sein, dass was sie auf CD produzieren, auch live wiedergeben zu können. Klar, dass es mal 'ne Ausnahme gibt, aber auf MX sind keine Songs, bei denen nicht stimmlich oder soundtechnisch extrem verzerrt und nachgeholfen wurde und die somit auch live nicht ohne Probleme performt werden können.

Traurig, oder??!?! Ich will/wollte das Album wirklich absolut lieben ... momentan ist da nur so'n dumpfes, leeres Gefühl ... :embarrassed: Und das fühlt sich echt scheiße an :angry: :cry: ... besonders nach dieser Wartezeit, dem Hype darum, dass CP mit dem Album 'die Musik neu erfinden' usw. :rolleyes: (p.s. Sorry für den Smilie, ich weiß, er reißt alte Wunden wieder auf ;) :laugh3: ).

Das einfachste ist immer zu Googeln!! Mach das mal! Den Rest wirst Du dann herausfinden und die Lösung ist wirklich nicht weit entfernt!

That's why I was going on a Coldplay/ing 'hiatus' for quite some time. I felt I was way too close with everything and thought I could only enjoy the music once I took a step back. That's what I did, I came back and was really looking forward to this album, esp. because the hype and built-up expectations by others were so high that I got involved again only to find out yesterday, that MX isn't MY album at all. Like I said somewhere else before, with music it is often like this for me: You hear a song/album and it immediately clicks/connects with you. You have this one song (or several songs) which will always be YOUR SONG, your personal hym. I'm honestly sad to say that on MX - for me - there's not really one song which stands out, which I immediately like, apart from CB or HLH maybe - minus the voice effects, of course! The whole album purls along and without noticing, you're at the end of the album and you keep asking yourself 'So this was it already??!'. :stunned: :( :embarrassed: Don't get me wrong, I don't say that MX sucks or such, it's just that I have to shrug my shoulders as I seem to have expected more/better ... and I feel really awful for that ... :embarrassed:

Half way through the album right now and I guess the one thing which stands out positive for me is that there is more bass/drums in it (at least that's what it feels like for me). Everything else I'm feeling right now is mixed emotions :( Can only agree with Imke on the topic of 'cluster of voice effects' :( Hmmm .... :\

In case you want to hear it all over again, today afternoon from 4.15 pm CET (3.15 pm GMT) they will repeat it/continue streaming songs from MX. That's what the NDR2 website is saying. Currently at work, so have to listen later ...

N-Joy Radio will start giving away tickets from Monday (17th) on until October 24th. You need to phone in during their morning show when hearing a special jingle. WOW! You're going from Hamburg as well? Will you go with a friend/friends? I'm going to, but haven't yet decided whether staying overnight or not. Depends on the weather. If there's no snow or such, I'll be driving back home afterwards ...

I just discovered by accident that northern Germany radiostation NDR 2 will be airing a recording of Coldplay's appearance at Oxygene Festival 2011 in Ireland on November 7th, 2011 at 9 pm (8 pm GMT) in their monday programme called 'Soundcheck Live' This won't be the full concert though, but just around 55 mins or so and it will probably also be interrupted by traffic news at around 9.30 pm (8.30 pm GMT). You can listen online via livestream or in case you will miss the show, the concert/whole show from that monday will usually be put up on their site for around a week. Then you may find it here. Chances are that even more Coldplay live songs will be played after that 'Soundcheck Live', 'cause they've done the same with other artists before ... :) In case this is the wrong forum, please move to the correct one, thanks :)

Just called NDR2 to ask about airing time of MX tomorrow. The guy couldn't find anything but will now investigate and call me back. As soon as I know, I will post the time & link here ...

Songs from Mylo Xyloto will also be played at NDR2 on monday, a radiostation which covers northern Germany. Just heard an announcement today morning. Don't know at which time they will start playing songs though. Their website doesn't provide any info on that as well. Maybe I should phone in?! ;)

I'm going to see The Domino State four times at the end of September/beginning of October. Really can't wait to see them live again :)
