For Virginie setlist, it's a fun story cause she asked the roadie a guitar pick and he said 'oh yeah sure' and came back with Peter's setlist :laugh3: Sometimes it's good to have a french accent... :D we all are I think... Poor Gary, he seemed so tired (like the pony XD) and when I mentionned the pizza while he was signing, he was kinda 'wtf?'...I think he thought I was mental  but when I said I saw him the day before, he looked up at me and immediatly recognized me and apologized... No need Gary, speaking to you that day in this random circonstance was a gift. You were on of the asian girl...!! It's weird cause I thought one of you had a familiar face (I think I saw a pic of you and Jonas on Mew thread  but I wasn't sure it was you and I didn't know you name.... ) Didn't you have a blue umbrella? Yep, you can see on my banter vid, Peter when to talk to Gary and then, they all move forward to the edge of the stage. So cool  great pics!! thx! I dug up Gary's initial tracklist and Silver atoms+ your bible were already on it (at first I thought 'silver atoms' became 'the silver necklace' but after the gig, I was :stunned: ) So there is still 2 songs we haven't heard + the other 3 (the chain of fools, cold blooded old times, I'll carry you) + Silver atoms and Your bible, so we are a total of 7 new songs...Boys, we almost have an album here...

It didn't sucked! I was just not that into the '80's tracks' but overall, I enjoyed it :) Be confident in your music tastes, you should never be ashamed of them, even if people doesn't always share them. Music is about whats make YOU feel happy, so it doesn't count if the rest of the world find it crappy as long as YOU like it!! ;)

Review time! I know I'm late, sorry... :sweatdrop: but I've been busy... First: THANKS!! It's always a pleasure to discover new stuff, and I appreciated this mix :). My mix partner renamed the tracks, which was a good idea in itself but forgot to delete the 'details' infos, so I still had the real artist/name track showing up in my player...I tried to not look into them but... 1-Nice opening track. Starts with small laughters and then continue on a popy-electroish-dancy vibe. It's more or less an instrumental with femal back-up vocals but the song reminds me of tracks made for a cartoon, it's 'childish' (not in a pejorativ way, but in it's refreshing sense). It's nice but kinda repetiv after a moment. 2-Another pop track with synthetiser and 80's sounds even if I'm guessing it's not from the 80's. Could have been a clubbing song. The singer voice is nice. This song reminds me of old A-Ha. It's a nice song but didn't let a lasting impression on me. 3-Beginning with a beat to let then the singer's voice flowing in. Nice xylophone touches.Remind me of a hippie song from the 70's. A good campfire song. It's soft and dreamy. 4-Another song that could have been made in the 80's...Synthetiser, clapping hands, nice song but again, doesn't let a lasting impression on me. 5-Recognized this one at the first second, it's 'Introducing Palace players' by Mew :awesome: It's actually one of my favorite tracks from the last album. I love how this song is built: the intro with its ectic rythm and then, change of rythm, Silas sick drums kicking in and Bo's guitars riffs....gosh, I love this song! Jonas' unique voice slowly taking possession of the song afterwards is just perfect. We know so much...so much we do...Mew FTW! 6-Love the intro of this one, then with the rythm guitar and that riff behind it. The singer's voice is so lovely! I love 'raw' voice and this guy puts a lot of feelings in his singing. Then violins kickin in near the end to give more expression to the song...like it!! It's a good rock song. Saw the band name in the player. I actually know a few track of them but not this one so thx! 7- Again a band that I know & like a few tracks but didn't know this one. It's a very nice pop-rock song, it's very melodic and I could easily listen to this driving. It's soothing and lovely to me. 8-Again, back in the '80's sounds even if I know it's definitvely not a 80's song. Lot of synthetizers. It's a very catchy song and upbeat! Nice song, I like it but none the less, I think I could be bored of it after a while... 9- Vampire WE! They have such a distinctiv sound! Beachy song, wanna dance  , love it! 10-A live track?. Like the singer's voice and the rythm in this song. Dunno why but it kinda remind me of Temper trap. Good choice to end the mix, maybe my favorite track of the mix! So overall, a very enjoyable mix, very 'popish', and '80's marked. It's nice to listen to but maybe because I was born during the 80's, this kind of sound is just not 'fresh' to me, so I won't be listen to this in repeat, even if I enjoyed it ^^ Thanks again to the person who took the time to made this

You're welcome everyone! I'll edit to put the name of the performer above each photo. @V: yeah, team V/A FTW  Yeah, Gary just wrote 'Gary' as he did also on my booklet where Peter signed too above him. On the Postcard, the rest are Scott in red (the man with the beard from REM team) and the other one, I dunno... It doesn't look like Tom Smith so the only one left is Richard Colburn... On the other side, it's a view of Pikes Peak (colorado) and his entrance marker on highway US 85 and 87. They haven't written anything on it but on some postcard they did (right virginie XDD) I ate the loolipop while the roadies where preparing the stage :P But I think I'll keep the 'eat the Pony' candy bar... :D

Hello ma poulette:!! I've just PM you XD For all music lovers out there...: What true musicians do when the sound fucked up? Well, they turned down the PA and go unplugged to redo the song in front of the audience! /run in the thread... I'm here!! sorry for the delay but I was in London for a few days (to see of the one band you didn't like in my mix actually XD) and back at work right away today so it's been kinda hectic these days... @my mixtape maker, I'm gonna review your mix on sunday :) thanks! I'm glad you loved it so much!! don't worry for your english and it's kinda ironic since we're both french XD Well if you are not afraid of the length then ... here we go : Glad you liked it :D I choose this one for 3 reason: -1rst, it's from one of my favorite band and I didn't want to but an 'obvious' track of them. -second, the alarm in the beginning, this catchy feeling was the perfect start for the mix I wanted to create. -Third: the only lyric line which is 'you won't be around forever girl..you gotta grab life with both hands' has never been more true! But, no more suspens, this song is Post punk progression by Snow Patrol (yeah, totally different from a 'chasing cars', right XD?!) Though you would know this one (french+radio play) but this band grew on me after seing them live on a festival. It's 'No way' by Gush. Glad you liked it so much! I discover this artist with my 1rst mix echange (so thx for the one who send it to me at that time!) It's from a US artist called Andrew Bird, great violonist and performer. The song is Fake Palindromes. Something I'm listening at the moment, a summer song nice and catchy! It's 'Clap your hands' by Sia (maybe you know her famous song 'breathe me'?) Another french one and he's from my hometown. He's starting to get known now and he sings in both french or english. This one is 'lose it' by Ben l'Oncle Soul. Glad you get the spirit of this song (and actually the band) 'wild and natural'. This from another fav band of mine, the wonderfull Followill familly, aka Kings of Leon (you probably know 'sex on fire'?)! This song is called 'Fans'. I'm in love with Caleb (the singer)'s voice and his baby brother Jared ass kicking bass lines :awesome: Yeah, correct it's my dear Florence and 'pure epicness' is her trademark. This song is not from the album and it's 'swimming'. Glad, glad, glaaad, you liked it and again, felt what I was trying to make you feel! This line you quote is just sthg that make me melt...T.T This song is called 'blue skies' by the band Noah & the Whale ^^ Again, good interpretation, I wanted sthg raw and dark. This band is quite fab! I loved the singer's voice...<3 This song is 'hang me up to dry' by Cold War Kids. Héhéhé it's from the awesome danish band Mew ^^ This song is called 'special' and I advised you to check out on youtube their performance of it on the live from Copenhagen. Totally bad ass intro! Really interresting that you thought it was from the 80's since it's inspired by it but it's 2010 song! It's 'Rocket' by Goldfrapp (band with which Davide Rossi -coldplay violin maker- works with...) I wanted to hit 2 birds with one stone: put a group that I like (Placebo) with a song that is not from them but by Kate Bush (an 'old' singer but check her out). The song is 'running up that hill'. Glad you like it! The 'sexy voice' belongs to Franz Ferdinand's frontman (Alex Kapranos), and this song is called 'Micheal'. I'm sure you know 'Take me out' from them no?! A really amazing band to see LIVE!! They're incredible! But I'm not objectiv with them, I love them too much XD You didn't recognize that voice?! It's Maroon 5!! It's their new single 'Misery' and just like you, it makes me want to dance like crazy XD! Perfect summer song! You were right for the 'country influences' since the album is based around this 'concept'. This is not the track I wanted to put, but their album just got released on monday, so when I did my mix, I had only the 1rst single....This song actually from a new band, or should I say 'supergroup' cause it's formed with people from different bands like Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol leader) (here my man on the vocals again but as you have heard, quite different way to sing than the 1rst track of this mix!)...Peter Buck (REM guitarist), Richard Colburn (Belle & Sebastian drummer) and many others! They made this 'country-like album' which for my part, I just adore :bomb: and after seing them live for their (for the moment) unique concert, I can't emphise enough on the greatness of this band ! Musically and lyrically amazing, give it a try, and we'll talk again ^^ So this song is 'dead american writers' by Tired Pony. (and the song I wanted to put was my fav track of the Tired Pony album and sang by Tom Smith from the band Editors. Here it is 'the good book' Yeah, that's the Corrs with 'Toss the feathers' :) Once again, this song is a two birds with one stone ^^ Love this song from AF but this version is so amazing T.T It's sang by one of my favorite singer, the amazing scottish Paolo Nutini. If you like his interpretation, you should check out his covers (the one of 'gimme shelter of the Rolling Stones' is T.T). He has the ability to totally transforms the songs he covers. BUT he's also a amazing singer/songwriter on his own, you could check him out, he has 2 albums out (my favorite is the 2nd one, which is truly what Paolo is all about: SOUL and raw feelings.) It's funny you said 'it's like coming from another world' cause that's exactly what I think of this man's music AND also that it could be use in movies...Cause this man's music is often used in movies! This track is actually from Jonsi (singer of the icelandic band Sigur Ros, again one of my fav band, but I didn't want to put a Sigur Ros song so I put one of Jonsi's new solo album). This one is called 'Boy Lilikoi' ^^ If you liked it, you should check out him and Sigur Ros (you probably know the song 'hoppipola', it's really famous), it's based on the same 'pattern'. Jonsi and Sigur Ros music are sthg on their own, an other wordl, kinda magical and dreamy...peaceful...epic! A mix of mine wouldn't be one if I hadn't put my musical god in it...This track is actually a cover of an Edith piaf song (hence the french) called 'J'en connais pas la fin' and it's sang by the late Jeff Buckley. Jeff had a totally unique voice and was a musical genius. I thought this really soft song would be a perfect ending, like a epilogue...glad you liked it! Again, check out Jeff's work of you're curious..he's a genre on his own. You're very welcome ^^ I'm glad you liked it and if you want more details or else about it, juste PM me ;) So for others, here the tracklist: 1- Post punk progression - Snow Patrol 2- No way - Gush 3- Fake Palindromes - Andrew Bird 4- Clap your hands - Sia 5- Lose it - Ben l'Oncle Soul 6- Fans - Kings of Leon 7- Swimming - Florence+The Machine 8- Blue Skies - Noah & the whale 9- Hang me up to dry - Cold war kids 10- Special - Mew 11- Rocket - Goldfrapp 12- Running up that hill - Placebo (Kate Bush cover) 13- Micheal - Franz Ferdinand 14- Misery - Maroon 5 15- Dead american writers - Tired Pony 16- Toss the feathers - The Corrs 17- Wake up - Paolo Nutini (Arcade fire cover) 18- Boy Lilikoi - Jonsi 19- J'en connais pas la fin - Jeff Buckley (Edith Piaf cover) Link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=I6WA868Z

Yep! Or there will be some ass kicking :whip: But they seemed really motivated the other night and very excited on stage about their work so I *hope* they'll continue... And when you see how a song wrote the day before sound like that, they'll have no problems to make another record... They already have 4 new songs+ the ones that they didn't used in the 1rst one!! :bomb:

Robbie Williams...
So Robbie don't want to tour alone for his new album but he wants to with Take that... :inquisitive: I don't care about Take That, I want ROBBIE!!! :bigcry: But I guess the news has provoked an earthquake in UK XD!!

Yep, Mr Buck, THANK YOU!! This moment was beyond surreal... A true manifestation of what music is all about: a big sharing moment, totally sponteanous, played with feeling. Hope the quality of the footage will allow them to make a DVD (and hope they won't cut Gary's banters...!!) --edit------- A great ITV from Gary: http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/theticket/2010/0716/1224274781605.html I totally agree with Gary when he said 'We most certainly were busking it.'. Buskers, that what they were the other night? They could have played in a street it would have had the same feeling. A great review of the show I totally agree on: http://fetch-the-nets.blogspot.com/2010/07/tired-pony-hmv-forum-review.html

@Kimmi: I must have seen you cause I was also waiting for Gary with arwen88 (Virginie ^^) We were the two french brunettes (I was the small one with braids in my hair). I will post a detail review later when my vids will be upload (I film ALL the banters :D) I was in row E, so I had a very good view and I have some good pics. The gig was just magical and probably one of the most unique I will ever witness. To see so many talented musicians taking so much fun playing together as if it was a small 'impro' in their home living room, is just was music should always be about: sharing, fun and joy. We met Gary after the show and I asked him about an eventual DVD (cause they were cameras). He told me me that was the plan but if for some reason it wouldn't be possible, they would put the footage online on the website ^^ As for me, I had the most surreal experience the day before cause I met him in a small pizza place in Camden (the Pizza Express accross the Dublin Castle!! *coldplay karma*). I won't enter into details but I was dining there with a friend and he came by to order pizzas to go (a lot, so I supposed it was for the band). I didn't ask him for an autograph or a photo cause I didn't want to drew attention on him (nobody noticed him!) but when he was on his way out, I went to talk discretly to him and he was adorable with me. He seemed really happy and amused by the irony of the situation (started by telling him I was going to saw TP). He came back afterwards to pick up his delievery ^^ On our way home (my friend lives in Kentish town) we passed before the HMV and saw Tom (from Snow Patrol) who said hello to me when he saw me looking at him with a stupid grin on my face XD and Richard ^^ Overall, these two 'Tired Pony' days have been surreal and amazing!

+10000000000 He's a brilliant lyricist. Pity his talent is not very recognized though... My sister and bro in law went to dine with me today and I was listening to TP, they loved it :D
