Well, I don't know about the bonding issue but I guess it's because fathers play and teach their sons, while mothers don't. As for playing with pain....that is in every sport. Yeah, it's stupide to celebrate stupidity but that's what our society likes to celebrate.

The number of games in the NFL.... Mini-camp in the spring: they play other members of their team but they normally play 2 to 3 games. Training camp: Starts in July. They play other members of their team but they normally play 2 to 3 gaes. Pre-season: 4 games. That number includes the HOF game and any overseas games. (These games are to get the players ready and to weed out any player who the coach thinks is not right for the team). Regular season: 16 games per season. Post-season: up to 5 games (there are 3 playoff games possible, the SB, and the Pro Bowl for any athlete who gets voted to go to the Pro Bowl). Is this a game of endurance? Yes. In reality, all sports are a matter of endurance. It is so easy to sit in a chair and think that playing any sport is easy and that it does not require much effort. Unless you have trained your body to perform at the level that many of these athlete perform at, then you really don't know what it's like to perform at high levels and perform through pain. This is not to say that there are no athlete who take performance enhancement drugs because some do, but there are many who do not take drugs to perform at those high levels.

First of all, people get worked up on any little thing. Not just sports teams, but musicial acts, TV shows, movies, you name it. It's just how some things are. Sports reflect that struggle in life where one wins and one loses. Some make it while others don't. People see that struggle in sports. Yes, some sport fans get worked up on their team winning and losing, but the same can be said about fans getting worked up when their favorite artist wins or loses that big award. Granted, some folks get too worked up but those are the ones who probably need to get a life. LOL!! The thing is...if you like a team then you should always stay with them. You should not switch your loyality. You should always stick with the team through thick and thin. When one switches loyalities then they are not really a fan. If one can not accept the victories or defeats then they are not really fans. Heck, my team has been through so many defeats before they won their first SB but I never wavered from my team. It's just a part of life. I don't hate the sport but I am not a big fan of it either. It's just a game that reflects the eternal struggle in life. Actually, all games reflect that struggle.
  5. I just wanted to post this cute pic.
  6. Long story short...there used to be two football leagues (the AFL and the NFL) whose champions would play one another at the end of the season. It was called the AFL/NFL World Championship game. This is before they merged into the NFL we know today. Anyway, since the college football teams play in bowl games at the end of their season, the word bowl would be incorporated into the title game because of its association with the post season. Lamar Hunt (president of the KC Chiefs) thought of the name "The Super Bowl" and that is how the final game got its name.
  7. This is a real old skit from MADTV but it's so funny. It's Jerry O'Connell as John Edwards (once a Democrat Pres. hopeful) singing Viva La Cheata. [ame=http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Izp1m9lBs_M]http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Izp1m9lBs_M[/ame]
  8. Whose Westlife? I know I posted this song earlier but this copy is hilarious. [ame=http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1LZVmn3p3o]http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1LZVmn3p3o[/ame]

  10. Oh my!! That's Jeffrey Tambor from Arrested Development in that video along with Eric Clapton. I love that song. Nice to meet you, too.
  11. This is not the greatest video quality and it starts a little late but this song is sooooooo good. [ame=http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vY9NylCR8qQ]http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vY9NylCR8qQ[/ame]
  12. I love Take On Me. I like to listen to that song. Here's a good song but the video is controversial. This is Madonna at her best. [ame=http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oH70Y5B4dI]http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oH70Y5B4dI[/ame]
  13. NOOOOOO!!! Don't play Mariah Carey. She ruins any classic song. Against All Odds is a beautiful song and it should only be sung by Phil. Shame on you, Carla. :D Hi Indya! I like the spelling of your name. I'm Tracylynn, of course. :laugh3:
  14. I love this song and video. Thank goodness the Coldplay puppets don't look like these puppets. :laugh3: [ame=http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq7FKO5DlV0]http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq7FKO5DlV0[/ame]
  15. Nothing. It's just a thread to chat about whatever you feel like.
  16. The videos have been disabled. LOL!! I love Time After Time. That song is a classic.
  17. This is one of my all-time favorite songs. [ame=http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUEfIQjEvRU]http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUEfIQjEvRU[/ame]
  18. Is that song your favorite or is it something else?
  19. This is for you, Carla. :) :D [ame=http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVaoGLTKwLQ]http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVaoGLTKwLQ[/ame]
  20. Because they are one of the most famous and popular teams in the NFL along with the Cowboys. I couldn't care less who wins the game. I just thought it was nice that The Boss thinks Coldplay should perform at next year's SB.
  21. I posted this in another thread but they asked Bruce Springsteen who should play at next year's Super Bowl Halftime show and he said it should be Coldplay.
  22. The asked Bruce Springsteen who should play at next year's Super Bowl Halftime show and he said it should be Coldplay. So, The Boss is a fan of Coldplay and realizes that they can put on a very entertaining show. I hope the NFL would at least look at Coldplay because they meet their requirements and they know they are going to get a good show.
  23. Nah!! It's free because of the bad economy. Now, if the economy was better then I would charge. :D Oh, it's time for me to make a new sig. I have an image in my mind but I am still figuring out Photoshop.
  24. Carla, do u think I should have the Dr. Tracy show so I can help anyone who needs advice? I saw your sig and that is why I am asking. :laugh3:
  25. I won a lot of money on the SuperBowl a few years ago. Whoo!!! I had a lot of spending money that week and it was great!!
