I prefer the Winter Olympics over the Summer Olympics by a mile. I like figure skating and it's disappointing to know that Jeffrey Buttle of Canada is not participating. He was a good skater and very enjoyable to watch. So for the men's figure skating, it could go back to Pluskenko of Russia, who I feel lacks any artistry and does just jumps and the judges give it to him (they did at the last Olympics). As for the ladies' event, I say Yu Na Kim of South Korea has that, she's on fire and she's quite good. For the pair's event, I say it will come down to the German team (whose name I can not spell) and Shen and Zhao of China. I don't care for the dance competition.

I didn't receive my Secret Santa card either. Oh well, at least I got a card from Carla.

I haven't received a card but the person that I was assigned to (Nancy) got my card and that's the most important thing for me.

Coldplay nominated for 1 Grammy deleted

I liked it. I thought it was funny. What a name for a game show...Nutcracker! :laugh3: And, their impersonation of David Caruso was dead on. I didn't feel sad until the end when they were talking to Gabriel.

Honestly, I would say it is a tie between the two because of the different audiences each band attracts. Coldplay seems to have more of a girl following with a good number of adults (older but not too old) liking the music. Radiohead, on the other hand, seems to draw more of the college audience (males in particular) and the crowd that some would say rebel against some of the norms. It's hard to explain but, overall, I say it's a tie.

Oh, I don't plan on mailing out my card until the last week in November. I just wanted to get it done early because of all the work I have to do.

Got my match and my card is done. Now I just have to mail it out.

Polar bears are not evil creatures. The only evil creature is mankind because mankind knows the difference between right and wrong. Scratch that....mankind is "supposed" to know the difference between right and wrong but obvioulsy doesn't.

I with The Escapist on this...with some bands, you just like their music and that is about it. But, that is not the case with Coldplay. Coldplay has that special something that makes you love them no matter what. Not all bands have that quality and the bands that do are something special.

I'm going to this concert too, but I am a little scared because I will be going by myself and I will be in the GA area. No one I know wants to take a trip to Mexico to see Coldplay so I will be all by myself. Yikes!! So, to anyone else going....hi!

Update....Amazon.com.uk has a few other Coldplay calendars listed on their site. There are no images available to see what the calendar as a whole looks like except for the cover. So, unlike last year where there were no calendars available, there seems to be a few different calendars to chose from. If anyone needs help in getting a calendar, I would be happy to help you out. Just send me a message.

Well, it depends on your major and what you like to do. From the list, I would recommend Colorado (it's beautiful there), Massachusetts (historical) or Maine (beautiful). But of course, you have to like snow living in those states.

Kincades only sells musical instruments and sheet music. There was once a music store at the mall but it changed ownership and eventually went out of business. It just couldn't compete with Walmart in terms of their prices. Maybe we need to make a list of people who want the calendar but can not buy it for whatever reason and try to help them out?

Elementary Education

Amy, you have to get it!! :) Ooh, that's nice. My area no longer has any music stores. They all went out of business. If I want to buy a CD I have to buy it at Walmart, Meijer, Target, or I have to order it. Call your local music and book stores to see if they are selling any Coldplay calendars (Hopefully, you'll talk to someone who are familiar with Coldplay). You can even check Walmart or other retail stores. If you can not find a copy, I can get you a copy from Amazon and ship it to you. I have no problem doing that since I have an Amazon gift card.
