  1. He probably goes through cars like he goes through women. :shocked2:
  2. YW! I don't know about any other woman but I have never seen a good looking pizza delivery guy that would make me want him instead of the pizza. LOL!!!
  3. You're right. For many Americans it's hard to understand why someone who was not born or raised in this country not like this country. Someone who was not born or raised in this country can view the country with different glasses and see things that many Americans refuse to see. I was able to see that when I lived in Spain. Living in Spain opened my eyes about the US. But, the main thing to remember is that not everyone conforms to the stereotype that one sees.
  4. One Republic is pretty good. I have their CD though I haven't played to it in a while.
  5. You have a voice range like Adam Levine? Wow! He's not bad but he's voice can get irritating after awhile. I'm sure your voice isn't irritating but he's voice is. I'll admit they do have some good songs.
  6. I believe that number is attached to a computer system (system is slow) where they'll tell you to call another number. It's a scam where the call takes you to a telemarketing scam.
  7. Maroon 5 are ok but that guy's voice can get on my nerves after a while. Snow Patrol, well, I only know one song by them and it didn't sound bad. The Fray are pretty good but I am not feeling their new song. I might need to listen to it more in order to like it. I do like How To Save A Life. Radiohead....I'm not into though Creep was a good song. Oasis....I haven't heard their music in a long time but Champagne Supernova is a great song.
  8. More than likely the number is from a scam artist from overseas. Scam artists from overseas are using phone numbers with area codes that do not exist or with numbers that do not come up like in your case. Don't answer the calls!!! I don't know how to stop getting the calls but, please, don't answer the calls.
  9. No offense. The AFC West has sucked for a while there but that is how it goes with the NFL. Every division has their ups and downs. I do agree that the NFL's system is way more fair that then BCS. The BCS is just plain total bull****.
  10. :laugh3: Actually, if we bail out the porn industry then we might as well bailout the pizza delivery business because those delivery guys need money to be able to drive to those homes so they can, um, get it on. (This is a play on the notion that the woman doesn't want the pizza but the delivery man instead).

You should throw a theme birthday party. Due to time constraints, it doesn't have to be a all out theme party. It could be one where you dress a particular way or your favorite character or your favorite sports team. Invite all your friends but let them know that there will be others there and that they all should get along for you since it is your birthday. If they can't do that then they shouldn't come.
  12. Big Soccer. I'm normally in the Bayern Munich forum and I post as Tracylynn.
  13. Beauty and the Beast The Little Mermaid Toy Story I & II Finding Nemo The Hunchback of Notre Dame Bambi The Fox and the Hound Cinderella Pocahontas The Lion King The Rescuers The Rescuers Down Under I know a couple of the movies are incorrect but they are still enjoyable to watch. Plus, a lot of these movies have great soundtracks.
  14. As interesting as this topic has gotten I think it's time that we just drop it and let bygones be bygones. We all have different opinions but the least we can do is try to respect each other's opinions, whether we agree with them or not. Lets take some time to cool off and come back in a better mood and just let what was said go. To be honest, I feel bad that this topic has taken this type of a turn. I should've not have continued the conversation. Sorry.
  15. Yeah!!! A fellow Bronco fan. Granted it's been a few years since we made the playoffs but we'll get there again. Someday. LOL!!
  16. Ok, look, both sides of this debate are right. Yes, the US education system is in need of repair. I stated in my first post the problem with out education system and I do believe I have a right to say that since I work in the education field. And yes, teenagers (some) do waste their lives on silly things. I see it everyday and I believe that is the result of the family more so than the education system. Yes, it's wrong to generalize. But, when one does not like something it's hard not to generalize about that group or topic. I'm not saying it's right but it's something that we all tend to do whether intentally or unintentally. Heck, I've done it at times. She answered my question and I was satisfied with it. Now, I wished I had just ignore this thread. Can we all this topic go?
  17. No, I'm not saying that. I'm saying that every teenager has their own reason for getting a job and those are some of the reasons why teenagers get jobs. You can't say a majority of teenagers get jobs because of wanting to buy things because that would be wrong without any scientific facts to back it up. Believe it or not, but I am not attacking you. I am giving you the discussion that you want. I work in the education field, and yes, I have gone to school in a foreign country (I lived in Spain for a period) so I know about the differences. And actually, I agree with some of the things you said. I agree that a lot of teens waste their lives. I see it everyday. But, if you read my first post I said one of the problems in education that is often ignored is the family. Your parents are your first teachers and they really are supposed to teach you for the rest of your life but many are not. Teachers can not do everything and be both a teacher and a parent but, unfortunately, we have to and we can't do that. Family and the value of education is not the same as it was 20 or 30 years ago and that is the problem. Until families see the value of education then the US system will be below the standard we want. I don't know your name but the point I was getting at is that you really can not make statements that generalize the whole spectrum.
  18. Larry Flynt of Hustler magazine and Joe Francis of Girls Gone Wild videos are going to ask Congress for a $5 billion bailout for the adult industry. I guess business is limp for the porn makers so they are going to ask for some money, though they've admit that they don't believe that they won't get it. I'm sorry but this is just too funny. Here's the article WASHINGTON (CNN) — Another major American industry is asking for assistance as the global financial crisis continues: Hustler publisher Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis said Wednesday they will request that Congress allocate $5 billion for a bailout of the adult entertainment industry. “The take here is that everyone and their mother want to be bailed out from the banks to the big three,” said Owen Moogan, spokesman for Larry Flynt. “The porn industry has been hurt by the downturn like everyone else and they are going to ask for the $5 billion. Is it the most serious thing in the world? Is it going to make the lives of Americans better if it happens? It is not for them to determine.” Francis said in a statement that “the US government should actively support the adult industry's survival and growth, just as it feels the need to support any other industry cherished by the American people." “We should be delivering [the request] by the end of today to our congressmen and [secretary of the Treasury Henry] Paulson asking for this $5 billion dollar bailout,” he told CNN Wednesday. Flynt and Francis concede the industry itself is in no financial danger — DVD sales have slipped over the past year, but Web traffic has continued to grow. But the industry leaders said the issue is a nation in need. "People are too depressed to be sexually active," Flynt said in the statement. "This is very unhealthy as a nation. Americans can do without cars and such but they cannot do without sex." "With all this economic misery and people losing all that money, sex is the farthest thing from their mind. It's time for congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America. The only way they can do this is by supporting the adult industry and doing it quickly." So far, there has been no congressional reaction to the request.
  19. The Titans lost!!! I thought they were the favorites in the AFC? Man, oh, man. That's a shocker. :shocked2: Well, I'm a Broncos fan. My team hasn't been the same since Elway left. LOL!!
  20. If you've read my post then you would know that I did not say "majority". I said "some". You are basing your reasoning on your experience with the group that you are familiar with, but that sample group can not be classified as "a majority" and you should know that. The group you are familiar with might have jobs because they want money to spend but that does not necessarily represent the whole working teenage population. Every teenager has a different reason for wanting a job. Some do want a job to have money so they can buy things because mom and dad are not going to buy them the expensive things they want, some want it so they can save money for college because college is expensive and the tuiton keeps going up but the financial aid is not, some want a job for experience, and some want it for other reasons. BTW...experience does not mean working at a fast food place. Believe it or not but there are teenagers who work in other facilities that cater to retail (perhaps they want to go into retail management), construction, business companies (secretaries, etc), animal shelters/offices (vets), and so forth. No offense but your posts seem to be filled with hate on this subject that is not totally called for.
  21. So, you believe that teenagers only get jobs because they are not learning anything about the real world in the classroom? Don't you think that some teenagers simply want to have a job? There are teenagers out there who simply want a job because they want to work in order to get more experience, and there are others who take a job because mom/dad are ill and can not work so they work in order to help out. There's nothing wrong with having a job. It's a person's decision whether or not they want to work, and if they want to work then so what? Ok, I'll stop and let this group get back to talking with each other.
  22. The young man asked you a question on education and what it has to do with teenage jobs and you haven't answer him. How is that crap? Is it because he's not agreeing with you and he's not putting it down? He brought up some good points and the article brought up some good points. Education is not the same everywhere in the US. Education varies from student to student, school to school, district to district, and state to state. So what one may encounter in one place they more than likely will not encounter it in another place. BTW... I'm in the education field so I think I know what I am talking about. But, don't pay attention to me because I know this thread is for a certain group of friends but I was just interested in the discussion that was starting to form.

I like them both but I prefer cats. Cats are more independent and that is what I like.
  24. Yeah, Australians are pretty damn hot. Muy caliente!
  25. I love how the article doesn't address one of the problems in education and that is the dynamics of the family. It's not the same as it was 20 or 30 years ago. The dynamics of the family play a very important part in a child's education because a child's first teacher is their parents. Yes, there are problems with the educational system but there's problems with every educational system in the world. Nothing is perfect. The problems with the American educational system are the results of family, discipline, funding (where most of the money is given to schools in rich districts and not the poorer districts), NCLB (No Child Left Behind - where they spend most of the time testing), the teachers (there are teachers who are not good, sports (people would rather have sports then concentrate on school), and the value of edcuation (it's no longer have real value to many anymore). As for a 16 year wanting a job....so freaking what? I say go for it. One reason teenagers get jobs is to not have money to spend it on crap but to save money and start taking control of their lives. For many, having a job teaches them about finances, how to balance their budget and so forth. There are parents out there who teach their children that if the want something then they have to work for it and not expect mom and dad to give them whatever they want. What this teaches them is that money does not grow on trees and that to buy those things that one wants then you have to work for it and save your money.
