Okay im just SLIGHTLY confused... are the versions of this (posted here or coldplaybootlegs) the full show? or the truncated? and having said that, are the mp3 versions out there the full show or truncated? i was there on the 23rd, both my first coldplay show and my first concert EVER and would love to be able to relive it...

I dont know. The music industry is really changing, and if bands want to stay afloat they have to be willing to try new things. Maybe not giving away for free, but certainly willing to give up a few tracks... and the remix projects are a GREAT way to get fans involved and interested. The fact is its gotta be a band that's got the cash, and the time, and the desire - and I think the boys fall into all three of those categories. Hell, what was the last mainstream band you know that put out an EP in the last couple years. I cant think of many.

I have to say, giving away violet hill was brilliant. I downloaded it and became more excited than I ever was. Then I rushed out and pre-ordered on iTunes so I could get Viva single. And now I've bought the album 3 times... put that in your pipe and smoke it EMI.

If you live in toronto be sure to check out Sunrise (where you can get it cheap with a coupon) and the HMV on Yonge Street (the super store) which have plenty of copies. not sure why people are having such trouble finding it...

Okay, this isn't spam or anything I just thought I should let people know. If you live in Canada and you know of a little record store called "Sunrise Records" than this message is for you. They are selling the Deluxe edition of Viva (featuring Prospekt) for very cheap... even cheaper with their special coupon. Where can you get said coupon? Well right here! SUNRISE COUPONS Theres a few other goodies there, but I just thought I should let everyone know. I've bought my copy (literally five minutes ago) and am ripping it now for my walk home from class. I cannot wait... ...so that will be the THIRD time I've bought the album...

Just wondering, do you think Coldplay could pull off a Radiohead/NIN and release their next album free/pay-what-you-want? They certainly are a big enough name, and rich enough... even if it was the next EP of say Demos/More deleted tracks from previous sessions. I would ESPECIALLY love to see them release some songs for remixing. I've gotten plenty of fun from the Radiohead/NIN remix tracks... and I can only imagine the more fun I'd have with Coldplay (since I actually really enjoy their music). Thoughts?

Same in the Canadian store... though you can get Viva/Prospekt for CHEAPER than prospekt+video. I'll probably just buy the video and rip my CD.

It would be interesting to find out. I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat if so. In fact, had I of known that the Vinyl of Viva had the CD in there I would have bought that first... I haven't gotten around to purchasing it again since I've already bought the album 3 times haha

I think my favourite at the mo. has to be Death and All his Friends. When that big banging piano and guitar come in followed by the wonderful drum rhythm I get chills! That to me, is perfection.

Firstly, let me just say: do not shop at Future Shop. Scum of the earth. lol Secondly, just want to clarify: is the deluxe edition just VLV AND PM, rather than simply PM? Or is there another difference? Obviously im getting the deluxe version since it costs only 13 bucks, but I just want to clarify what exactly it is.

This week at sunrise they have a deal for 13.99 you can get the Delux Version of VIVA featuring PM. So naturally that's what I'll be doing... despite my better judgement of saving my money for Christmas haha

Been a fan of Coldplay probably since I first heard "Yellow" on the radio all those years ago... now I know what your thinking: what took you so long to get to a coldplay forum? Good question. I've been a fan for so long, and been on other musician's message boards (mostly Michael Jackson ones haha) for so long its a wonder I never made it to a coldplay forum. But here I am! And I'm very excited. To get a few things out of the way: Location: Toronto, Canada Favourite Album: Currently, Viva la Vida Favourite Track: Currently, Death and all his Friends (though previously it was probably Everything's Not Lost) Seen Live: Yes, many moons ago back during the X&Y tour. Coldplay Collectible: Well I have a tour book, and I actually have a copy of "Brothers and Sisters EP" though it was from a re-release I beleive. I almost had a copy of "The Blue Room" (my favourite of their early stuff) but someone sniped me on ebay and grabbed it from me. Jerk. Also, I can play lots of their songs on the Piano -- and I taught myself Lost by ear, so thats pretty exciting (of course I'm no Chris...) Anyways looking forward to settling in here and sharing my love of the boys for others.
