  1. The Suburbs has some subpar moments like Rococo, but there still are a lot of great songs. Overall, I like the album.
  2. Angels and Airwaves are hit and miss. Tom can't help it, but sometimes his whinny sound bugs me.
  3. Palladia is awesome. Watching In The Basement in HD rules!
  4. I'm still in the early phases of listening to the album, but I'm not overly excited so far. It's just not catching me. We'll see what more listens will do.
  5. I'd say Radiohead
  6. This thread comes up every 6 months or so. Here it is again.
  7. Is vinyl released by new artists the same as vinyl released by old artists? With everything being digitally recorded these days, I was wondering if new vinyl albums have lost some of the "warmth" that people love about old vinyl. I don't know the answer.
  8. I used to buy vinyl because I liked the oversized artwork. It sounds crazy, but as recently as 5 years ago, I could buy the biggest titles for $4 or $5 in the used bin. The problem is I didn't care about the record, which I often would leave in a spot where it would get exposed to sunlight and it got ruined. Now that I care, I have to buy the same record for the 2nd time
  9. Honestly, don't you think it's funny how big vinyl has gotten in the past few years? I think it's amazing in light of how everything is so technologically advanced these days. I like it!
  10. Exactly!!!

Get in the Ring - GNR
  12. Blink 182 - Self Titled
  13. Pink Floyd vs. David Bowie
  14. I love U2, but if I were to generalize, I would have to say that I can't stand U2 fans. They are a bunch of zombies. Unfortunately, I've spent more time around them than I would care to admit.
  15. Yeah, this one probably will slide under the radar without the average person realizing the significance of the loss. I put Leiber/Stoller right up there with Lennon/McCartney in terms of most influential songwriters of all time. They were writing some of the biggest songs when Rock N' Roll was just beginning to take shape.
  16. Pearl Jam - No Code
  17. I'm looking forward to Radiohead on SNL!
  18. Yeah, there is something so authentic about a songwriter singing his song, even if he's not the singer on the album. I once saw Pete Townshend perform The Kids are Alright solo acoustic. It was amazing!
  19. Their mother must be so proud. There is nothing better than internal family litigation.
  20. One of my favorite Oasis moments was the Unplugged episode where Liam walked off...errrr....had throat problems. I thought Noel was brilliant that night. Yes, maybe not Liam's equal vocally or as a frontman, but the difference was not drastic. Plus, I enjoyed the authenticity of the song writer signing his own songs. To me, Oasis is all about Noel. Everyone else is interchangeable, and that includes Liam.
  21. I think Pop and Zooropa have similar feels, as does HTDAAB and ATYCLB. Early U2 sounds similar too. I don't see much difference between Boy and October except that I like October less.
  22. That Phil signed vinyl is so cool. It looks so clean. I love that stuff.
  23. I don't understand Liam's gripe. Noel was 90% of the talent in that band. Liam should be grateful he was brought along for the ride.
