Post pictures of the gorgeous Chris
Hey everyone! I'll appreciate if you went to read the stuff I posted on a new thread. I just wanted to get feedback on something awful that happened to me, and to see if I did the right thing.

"I'm not flirting with you, nor want to be your friend, I am just nice"
I am in the process of de-friending people on Facebook, as well as setting my privacy setting to the minimum and keeping personal info (i.e. address, email, phone, work info, relationship status) completely OUT. So far, you cannot find my profile by searching my name on Facebook nor on Google (mind you, there's another girl with my name, but that is not me). I am classifying people on my friend list so that I can sent privacy setting differently for those who are under "close friends" from "family members" or "classmates." It happened after a guy who worked at the dentist's office found me on Facebook days after I talked to him while waiting for the anesthesia to work. I was trying to kill time since I had nothing to read and had forgotten my iPod at home. When he send the friend request, I accepted because I didn't think at the moment that it was a big deal; I thought he would add me, and then never write to me since most of my Facebook friend don't write to me unless I write to them. He send me messages about wanting to "hang out" or "text me" with the most hideous grammar you could expect, as in "h r u?" or any other slang I don't understand, and much less use. Since bad grammar is a big turn-off for me, there was no way I wanted to be friends in real life with this person. I barely keep up with my real friends. I am very inconsistent friend, who likes those to befriend people who don't mind if you don't call them everyday or send them an email, or go out with every week. Also, I am trying to simplify my life because I need to work on my undergraduate thesis and apply to grad schools, which means I don't want to make new friends. Apparently, he is new to Facebook, no wonder he doesn't understand that being friends in Facebook is not the same as being friends in real life. Yet how can he not understand this when he obviously uses MySpace (he asked me if I had a MySpace account on the first message). the first two times, I said that I didn't have MySpace, and that I was not even on Facebook often. The third time, when he asked if I "text," I freaked out so much I ended up talking to a psychologist about what to do and to the receptionist at the dental office. The receptionist talked to him (I called right before lunch time) about how he had to stop immediately, and that what he did was completely unprofessional. He could get fired for this because he was using information that is confidential. I solved this in one day, but I waited two days before de-friending him on Facebook. I have been feeling anxious about him being mad at me or something like that, but now I realize I did what I had to do. He was not taking the hints about me being busy, or not having text messaging or MySpace (ewww, I hate this site, have never joined). On the reply to his third message, I wrote: "Thanks, but I am not interested in any relationship. Bye" He has not bothered me since, and I won't be going back to that dentist's office. I called them yesterday to have my dental history record to be mailed under my mom's name because I don't want that guy knowing my address. Yeah, I know, I sound like a total paranoid, yet I believe I have the right of picking my friends, and to tell someone that I don't want to be his friend or to "hang out" with him. Seriously, what's up with guys thinking you like them just because you chat with him once? Gosh, I was talking about football and my sister being a pre-med student, I wasn't asking him personal questions, nor was I telling him my personal stuff. I have been mortified since I sent him the last reply, I even thought he was gonna come to my house and harm me in some way. BUT now that I write this, I realize that I should NOT care if he was hurt by my rejection. If he's a grown up, he should just move on.

15-May-2009: Cruzan Amphitheatre, West Palm Beach, FL, USA
I know, pre-sales are horrible, I got my seat for Tampa on the general sale. Section 7 is actually right after the orchestra section, which is quite small, so I'm on the 17th Row left side of stage. Lucky those whose venues have a PIT or a floor section (San Antonio, New Orleans), they were able to get General Admin standing

Well, let's wait til the concert is listed on the Oxfam page to make any plans. I'm kinda worried they won't take if I am not involved with Oxfam or related things at my college :\ I mean, I know about Oxfam, and I have participated in voluteer activities, I even led a spring break trip to volunteer helping migrant workers, but I don't know if that's enough :(

Yeah, that's true! *thinks positive thoughts* Oh, and there is this girl in Orlando who wants to go to West Palm. I hope we can agree on going together :D (note: presale for West Palm sucked, so I hope for Oxfam volunteering)

The application is on the following link: http://www.oxfamamerica.org/whatyoucando/act_now/music/concerts_2009/ They haven't listed Coldplay concerts, but I'm sure they will soon. I sent a Private Message to a girl who has volunteer before, and she says that Oxfam looks for volunteers weeks before the concert. Keep checking the page to see if they have added it. I'm sure here at Coldplaying there will be a thread.

Usually, volunteers get the tickets of those who have been upgraded. They are not spectacular, but at least they are free!

^I'm not even gonna try, buying tickets for Tampa left me traumatized. So, I'll go with volunteering with Oxfam.

Your Ticket Issues: Pricing; Availability; Seats etc (previously titled presales are bull)
Hi Cobalt! Unlike in Australia, the concert-goers in the US vary in what kind of fans they are. Seriously, coldplayers who have gone to US concerts tend to complain about how they are the only ones who sang along to most or all the songs in their row or section. OR how the crowd wasn't enthusiastic, OR how they hear people asking what is the name of the front man or stupid questions like that (!!!????) It would be such an issue if the seating system was not rigged. Most of the US venues don't have a General admission pit, which allows hard-core fans to be close to the stage if they purchase a ticket. The best seats end up in hands of scalpers or people who are willing to resell them to those who have tons of money to buy them. Most often than not, these people who buy these tickets at ridiculuosly high prices just buy them to go to the concert and appear cool, not because they actually Coldplay followers  It looks like I am blaming Coldplay for want to make profit. Actually, it's those involved in organizing the concert and ticketing who are to blame for the inflated prices.

Well, I actually signed up to receive low-fare alerts from JetBlue and Southwest. SO, I could have a crazy-attack like Pris, and fly there  EDIT: just checked the JetBLue website, $86 to fly in the morning of May 23 to JFK  There are also flights to White Plains (where is this?) I'm gonna apply to volunteer at Coldplay concerts with Oxfam. Me too! I couldn't care less, that was the best ticket I could get. My sister got kinda pissed when I told her we would be seating on the same seat but 2 rows apart :P

[RESCHEDULED DATE] 27-July-2009: SPAC, Saratoga Springs, NY, USA
Yep, to get better seats I had to search for a single ticket for me, and then a single ticket for my sister. Yet I managed to get them on the same seats but only two rows apart (H and K)

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Pris, you'll get to see them this year! That's so nice you're all carpooling to Harford. If only someone in Orlando or Tampa wanted to carpool with me to West Palm :disappointed: Hey, hey, my seat is on the left side, remember I ask you about them? I actually have Seat #5, which is to the extreme corner. BUT I revised the Live Nation map of the venue, and I figure out that I'm closer than I thought since the orchestra section in front of mine has only 10 rows, which means I'm on the 17th row! [on Guy's side :wink3:]

I just wrote some short explanation on the "Presales are BULL!" thread, except I forgot to add the part in bold. :dozey: Congrats! yeah, they're likely to be good ones :) May the Coldplay karma be with you! :D

Your Ticket Issues: Pricing; Availability; Seats etc (previously titled presales are bull)
a) they are hackers b) they are roadies c) they are employees of the venue, local radio station, or corporate sponsor d) they are lying, it's a scam EDIT: forgot about the people sleeping with the high-up people who sell $$$ for the close seats. YET think about it, who is worse? The scalper or the idiot who pays those $1000!? I feel so sorry for the Latin American fans. The dirty little secret, in my opinion, is that Coldplay keeps coming to the US because there are enough dumb people eager to pay $$$$ for the closest seats and VIP packages. SERIOUSLY!!??? We're in a recession! Oh, I hate those rich b*tches who probably don't know the Viva La Vida lyrics that well! :veryangry: The only exception I make for buying at over-the-top prices is that if it is for charities like Oxfam.

Your Ticket Issues: Pricing; Availability; Seats etc (previously titled presales are bull)
I was prepared for dissapointment by reading a thread made around January called "2009 North American presales???" where this member called TigerMilk made some realistic assessments on how the presales work and ticketing in general. He says he worked for Tickermaster as an auditor, so no wonder he knows a lot. He might sound blunt, but I think he was being realistic. Nevertheless, if Live Nation, Ticketmaster, or whoever had at least the decency to put an asterik * saying "pre-sale tickets are only certain alloted sections. If you want a close seat, shell out some major $$$$$$" :dozey:

Your Ticket Issues: Pricing; Availability; Seats etc (previously titled presales are bull)
It depends, I got a better ticket on the general sale. As you can see on my signature, I got two separate seats on Section 7 on the Tampa venue. Section 7 is not as bad as it sounds, I'll be seating on the 17th row from the left side of the stage. I got that seat because: a) I search for a single ticket for me, then for a single ticket for my sister b) I did the general sale, where all sections are supposed to be available, rather the alloted sections for the pre-sale c) I searched around 2339483720 times! Overall, pre-sales are traumatic, stressing and BS!

^Go to Ticket Rush, sign up, then get the password for March. Remember that password on the day of the pre-sale on Live Nation. On the Live Nation page for the Nashville concert, you will insert that code/password on a box BEFORE it allows you to search for tickets. Proceed as usual to buy ticket. Hope this helps. EDIT: goes to see how much is airplane ticket from FLorida to Nashville :escaping:
