The Degradation Of Coldplay
The first time I heard that song (brilliant song, btw), you know when he says "the band were fucking wank, And I'm not having a nice time." I thought he was saying "If I'm not fucking wanking, I'm not having a nice time." Which I thought was good, but didn't make much sense in the context of the song.

Coldplayer's Top 100 Songs of All Time - NOMINATION PROCESS
This is tough and pretty rough. I'm probably forgetting a lot, it's in no order. 1. "Holes" - Mercury Rev Beautiful song, that builds up and erupts softly but amazingly. About struggles of life in a band, with people trying to take advantage of you. Or at least that's how I see it. 2. "Running Up That Hill" - Placebo Amazing. I'm finding it hard to describe these songs cause I just feel like writing "amazing" or "beautiful." But it's about wanting to take the place of a loved one who's dying. 3. "The Drugs Don't Work" - The Verve A classic, just a beautiful song with beautiful lyrics. 4. "In A Little While" - U2 I had a hard time picking a favorite U2 song, but this one stands out. When I first heard this song, it was a I think The Killers with Bono joining the on stage. Then I got the U2 version, and was blown away "Slow down my beating heart" 5. "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" - The Smiths I couldn't decide between this or "How Soon Is Now," but I chose this cause the end with the "there is a light, it never goes out" repeating is very nice. 6. "Nightswimming" - REM Easily my favorite REM song, simple, earnest, and beautiful. 7. "Talk Show Host" - Radiohead It was either this or Fake Plastic Trees. I adore the simple guitar on this song. It's just an awesome song. 8. "Wonderwall" - Oasis A classic, and to me their best song. So simple yet so fantastic. I dunno, it's always been one of my favorites since the first time I heard it. 9. "Cold Desert" - Kings Of Leon Just a nice depressing song. Love the way it goes quit and the slowly starts again even more miserable than before. Apparently the lead singer was feeling down and drunk when he sang it, and they only played it once or something. 10. "Smile Like You Mean It" - The Killers One of my favorite bands, and my favorite song of their's. I think it's the lyrics that do it for me, strike a chord. 11. "Hamburg Song" - Keane Maybe one of my favorite songs ever, I'm not even a huge Keane fan, but this song is wow. Beautiful ballad. It was written by one band member for another. 12. "Hurt" - Johnny Cash Classic song. Amazing lyrics. You can just hear the pain in his voice. Chilling. 13. "F-Stop Blues" - Jack Johnson This is the ultimate song to relax to, so chilled out. I believe it's about father and son. 14. "November Rain" - Guns N Roses Long, but not at all drawn out. Just beautiful. "Sometimes I need some time on my own" 15. "Michael" - Franz Ferdinand A fun, upbeat song from one of my favorite bands. Makes people question Alex Kaprano's sexuality I think. But who cares, he is amazing. 16. "Crash Into Me" - Dave Matthews Band A nice mellow song. It's always been one of my favorite songs and easily my favorite DMB song. Never gets old. 17. "Wish You Were Here" - Pink Floyd Classic song, the lyrics are absolutely lovely. "We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year, running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears, wish you were here." 18. "Mardy Bum" - Arctic Monkeys Definately one of my favorite bands and probably my favorite song from them. A fun, upbeat track with clever lyrics, love it. 19. "Yesterday" - The Beatles Probably my favorite Beatles song. So simple and so short, yet so beautiful. 20. "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" - Coldplay Most likely my favorite Coldplay song. Loved it from the instance I heard it. The beginning is amazing. Then it erupts and it's even better. It's just brilliant. Maybe my favorite song ever.

The Degradation Of Coldplay
Pop is considered a genre in a sense. It doesn't just mean popular. Rap is popular here, but they put it in the Rap section, not the the Pop section. Hmm.. just like VLV was nominated at the Grammys in the Pop genre. I don't care if they're popular. It makes them more accessible. Pop =/= popular, no matter what your dictionary definition says.

I think the one per rule is fine. Or we're gonna have like a million Radiohead/Coldplay songs.

I'm 17 years old. I'm not a grandma, I just have good taste. ;)

The 4th Mixtape Exchange
I want my review! I'm kind of nervous, cause I have a feeling my partner might be into more chilled Coldplay-like music and I kind of sent them an upbeat tape.

The Degradation Of Coldplay
You came up with that yourself. I just said stuff might be easier for you to understand with some emoticons. And thanks Josh. :P You're one of the few who've posted here and havn't been off their rocker.

The Degradation Of Coldplay
But this is all your opinion. You can't tell me I'm wrong for having a different one. VLV is more pop than ever. I'm saying the self-deprication seems insincere, not his performance. Lost+ was not amazing. Lol. You took that one too seriously. The 42 lyric made me cringe the first time I heard it. The costumes make them look like a boy band and are a bit pretentious. But it's not equal. The slide solos were one of the best parts of watching the old shows. Again, too serious. Although he has said Beyonce is his idol, pretty much. Yeah, you're right about the high notes. I think he's particulary fantastic on TV appearances.

I was being sarcastic. Maybe I should've added a smiley. Seems as though you'd understand those more than, you know, actual words.
-
The Degradation Of Coldplay
Lol yeah. Cause they were a tiny little band before VLV. :dozey:

I was being honest. Maybe I don't watch Entourage. Maybe I don't know Johnny Drama is.

Coldplayer's Top 100 Songs of All Time - NOMINATION PROCESS
Not a bad list. I just looked at the songs and skimmed through. Lol at John Mayer having a good personality though. The guy is a douche.

Well thank god you did cause I was beginning to believe all golfers were short-tempered psychos.

Hah, I was gonna put "We Are The People" on mine too, but it got a bit long so I cut it.

Coldplay to catch swine flu? Odds of 7/4 says they will
Someone guy died at the hospital my sister works at from it.

The Degradation Of Coldplay
You clearly meant it as an insult. Why would I care about what someone with over 7000 post says? You don't just randomly state how many posts someone had unless you have a point.

Interpretation of lyrics
I believe Chris said in a broad sense that CoL was about wondering where you go after you die. But obviously that's jsut general and Chris wouldn't, you know, get in deep conversation about the specifics cause he gets that way about his lyrics.

Music You've Just "Discovered"
AMAZING! I've been listening nonstop on repeat since like Thursday. I love how they have acoustic versions of all their songs too.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
I hope it's Fix You. When you're lost somewhere in the dark. And you're trying to find your way home. And Fix You comes on. Cause "lights will guide you home" and you're searching and searching and just as the song explodes... you catch sight of your house. And you run home all they way through the outro and just as the final "lights will guide you home" begins, you reach your front door.

How does having a certain number of posts discredit someone's opinion? And congratulations on your golf career, no one cares.
