That's the thing, he abuses the hell out of the phaser that you can't really hear what's going on. You can sort of hear what he is doing in the Unstaged Concert in Madrid. Worst comes to worst, just improvise and make your own solo up.

i think the effect he gets is from that strange tuning. I always think of it as an Arabic sounding effect especially when you hear it live

not bad. very electro. But the Mr Brightside Jacques Lu Cont Mix is way better. It kept its original chord progression

Im with you mate. I got so excited when I saw they were finally playing it live. It's going to be the highlight of the show when i see them in October.

I've tried hard as well. My tips would be: Get some slight distortion, something along the lines of crunch, nothing too heavy. As you're playing full 6string chords you want to be able to hear the changing notes that is played on the G string. If you've got a a lot distortion all you're going to hear is too much fuzz. Delay is just as important as the distortion I think. Hey everyone! I'm not exactly new because I made an account in 2008 I think but lost my password, only now remembered it. Huge Coldplay fan and was lucky enough to see them here in Sydney 2years ago (my first concert too haha). I'm a bit of a guitar freak when it comes to Jonny's guitar work.
