I've been up all night writing a paper*, but I'm so anxious about this! *I've barely done anything. And at least 30% of my time has been devoted to refreshing coldplay.com just in case they accidentally update. You never know? :/

I'm torn between Parachutes and VLVODAAHF. Sometimes I listen to their first album and feel a little down about the fact that they'll probably never make a whole album like that again (kind of young, kind of indie, etc.) At the same time, I listen to their most recent work and I'm really happy about how they've branched out. In my opinion, it's the most cohesive album; it feels like all of the tracks take place on the same map/timeline/story rather than sharing a particular sound. I think it's really interesting, and it's one of the few albums I never play on shuffle. I'm confident that they can keep getting better, so I think I could live without hearing a Shiver or Spies 2.0 (maybe). Even X&Y, my 'least' favorite album, has unique qualities to it that I love that none of the other albums have. Like a lot of people have said, I think each album represents a different incarnation of them over time; I like how each one has a different sound. Some days I'm feeling a little Parachutesy, other times I'm feeling A Rush of Blood to the Head. Coldplay's the only band I've been able to listen to consistently for the past couple of years; I've had to take breaks from other bands because their albums, which sounded great, also sounded really similar to one another, and I'm the kind of person whose obsession can quickly turn into boredom when it's repetitive. But with Coldplay, I just switch over to another album. The Beatles, Radiohead and Snow Patrol are a few others for whom I can say the same. Why is this post so long :blank: I should get a blog. TL;DR - I'm a fickle person who can't pick a favorite Coldplay album because they all sound different. But I don't mind.

I think it might've been Shiver; we'd finally gotten cable that summer and MTV still played a decent amount of music videos. I bugged my sister by singing the chorus (and nothing but) all the time.

To me it says 'lol hey what's going on over here guys.' And I burst out laughing.
