Everyday Life - press/reviews
Haha, I can't help it. Whenever I read an article or see something on the Internet, I like to read some of the comments, despite not intervening most of the time.

Everyday Life - press/reviews
Reading the comment section of that article is disgusting. I don't understand how people get to hate like that. I can understand that you don't like something and that's ok, but from that to hate... That's a long way.

Champion Of The World - Sunset
I get that this song is directly connected to Scott, both musically and lyrically, but when I was listening to the lyrics for the first time I felt immediately connected to the story of Mylo in the comics of MX (those who have read it will understand), more precisely here: "I tried my best to be just like the other boys in school" "I tried my best at taking flak but my rocket-ship reversed" "But I'll stand before conquistadors till I'm champion of the world" And especially this one : "And in my dreams onto my chest she'll bring the colours and say "I wandered the whole wide world but baby, you're the best"" For reference of which part I'm talking about: MX #2: Cover-Up PT 2 So, could this song have originally been made for the MX era? (At least some of the lyrics...)

Church - Sunrise
Thanks a lot! Your interpretation is very clear. Now I get how is this connected with the rest of the album. Certainly, in our Everyday Life we all have someone we rely on when we desperate need help. Also, it fit with the filosofy behind Bani Adam.

Church - Sunrise
So, I'm trying to connect this song with the rest of the album but I still struggle to do that. Does anybody has an idea of who is he talking to in this song? A person that he loves, someone who is dead and he miss a lot, maybe god?

Everyday Life Structure: X&Y + Viva
You should try the comics, I can assure you that it will improve your experience with MX! On the other hand, yes, EL doesn't have that much of fluidity like MX, but it's still a concept album the same way Viva is. And I'm sure with time we will improve our understanding of how properly that album works.

Everyday Life Structure: X&Y + Viva
As I said, the majority of them are not connected only because of a story behind (like MX) but also lyrically, melodically and visually. In this case specifically, it's easy to see the visual connection (all the graffiti/color vs darkness/glow), the melodical connection (electric sound, heavy bass, louder guitar) and the lyrical connection (rebelion, oppression, love, struggle). Again, seems to me that you're not identifying the parameters of what a concept is.

Èkó - Sunset
This song has grown on me. I think it's a beautifully narrative of what it feels when someone has to left their family and the ones they love because of work, war or whatever circumstances they are.
-
Old Friends - Sunset
If so, he wouldn't be naming 'Tony' at the beginning of the song, so...

Everyday Life Structure: X&Y + Viva
Sorry, what? MX is totally a concept album, so I don't understand what are you talking about. All the songs came about the same theme, with the story of the comics behind, and are connected in a melodical, lyrical and a visual way. And so, most of Coldplay's albums do this in a very good way, except the rest of them don't have a comic behind.

Everyday Life Structure: X&Y + Viva
I don't think so. The story of Eko is very precise, while Cry Cry Cry is more open to interpretation. Edit: I think Eko is instead probably connected in some ways to Orphans.

Cry Cry Cry - Sunset
This song is so good! It's like a joyful version of 'Feeling Good' by Muse (like I said previously), and it give me also some Queen (?) vibe when they do the arpeggios with the voices.
-
Old Friends - Sunset
Old Friends is the lost brother of See You Soon, and I love it.

Champion Of The World - Sunset
This song is competing with Everyday Life and Arabesque for the throne of best song of the album, but is growing like wildfire on me! Does anyone has a vibe from 'Ghost Story' on this song?

Everyday Life Leak Discussion [SPOILERS INSIDE]
Now, about Everyday Life... It's for sure the more experimental thing they have done since 2008. To me it's like VLV and AHFOD have a children: taking the varied spectrum of sound from the first and the concept of kindness and gratitude to life from the second. It's raw and weird, but I like it. It's also one of Guy's most prominents albums (a good thing) , but the lack of Jonny is very very noticeable, and that makes it a little bit weak to me (Jonny Boy is my favorite member). Top: Everyday Life, Champion Of The World, Church, Arabesque, Cry Cry Cry. Good: Old Friends, Sunrise, Orphans, Trouble In Town. Normal: Guns, Eko, Daddy. Interludes: BrokEn, WOTW/POTP, When I Need A Friend, Bani Adam.

Everyday Life Leak Discussion [SPOILERS INSIDE]
I was happy reading all of your opinions on the album until I started to read the same repetitive posts full of hate against AHFOD, and I suddenly remember what was wrong with this forum most of the time of an album release. Please, go on and learn yourself a lesson from Everyday Life. Enough with the rudeness, and begin to be respectful with others opinions. It's not necessary to claim on every post that, according to you, 'X' album is a piece of garbage: not everybody has the same tastes as you.

Everyday Life Structure: X&Y + Viva
With the recent leak of the lengths of each 'Everyday Life' track, I would like to share my thoughts on how this album will work. First of all, I don't think this is really the first time they've done a double album; instead, I would give this label to 'X&Y'. It's a symmetrical album with 6 songs on each side, being the 'X' side the more pessimistic and the 'Y' side the more optimistic. Everyday Life use this same format structure with 'Sunrise' and 'Sunset', with the only difference that now each side has a total of 8 songs. Next we have 'Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends', which is an album that has 9 full songs and 4 short songs (3 of them as hidden tracks) , all of them under the same musical concept. Here Everyday Life takes the melodic structure as a reference, having a total of 8-9 full songs and a large number of 7-8 short songs, with the only difference that all of them are direct tracks instead of some being hidden. TL;DR: Everyday Life takes the format structure of X&Y and combine it with the melodic structure of VLVODAAHF under the concept of political and social problems. I just love these two albums in terms of concept and fluidity, and I'm sure I will like Everyday Life on the same way.

Everyday life - the track - Sunset
Yes, you're absolutely right. I just realized that TKC break the symmetry between the two parts, and also doesn't relate with the theme of the album like others hidden tracks ('Life is for Living' , 'The Escapist'). I think I'm moving it to my b-sides playlist starting today. So, let me rephrase what I said: Does anybody else feels that 'Everyday Life' could have been a better closer to X&Y than 'Twisted Logic'? Seems to me that it creates a more similar effect in comparison to what 'X&Y' delivers as a closer to the 'X' half of the album.

Everyday life - the track - Sunset
It's just me or does anyone else has the feeling that this could have been the perfect closer to X&Y instead of 'Til Kingdom Come?'
-
Everyday life - the track - Sunset
This is one of their best closers! I don't think it needs anything else longer. It's just the way it is. It's a philosophical reflection of everyday life at the end of the day, calling out for hope into the next one... as a kind of mental prayer.

Cry Cry Cry - Sunset
Nice work! Thanks for the info. I'm impatiently waiting for this song. I liked the snippet a lot. It reminds me of 'Feeling Good' by Muse.

Rank The Songs From A Head Full of Dreams!
Viva has very clean production, don't misunderstand me. Parachutes and AROBTTH not that much. But as I said, they have weak links to me: Yes, We Never Change,Warning Sign, to name a few. I have never liked LIJ too. In the end I really love those albums, but I just prefer the strongness and quality of the 3 in the top (4 with GS).

Rank The Songs From A Head Full of Dreams!
Yep, pretty sure. Those bottom albums are good, but they don't have a clean production and some of them have weak links between the whole album. Also, I look for how they manage the concept in each album: some are stronger.
