may i step in? your post depicts the exact problem that i have with religion. are you being serious, that you can only decide to be a good human, if someone as god, or any religious institution asks you to? i know many so called christians, who are profound pathetic asshats. pretty much all atheists i know are thoughtful ( most of them had to overcome their religious upbringing, so they underwent a CONSCIOUS process) and have quite good, if not terrific moralic standards, which they worked out themselves. it's difficult for me to discuss things in english.
