  1. why do I see a code right next to the 'subject' i.e "Another monday morning.....#624696" Ian, did you putted that or it's a new thing the board has... cause I'd never seen it before (and that's a lot to say!)
  2. Look! It's faster! It is for me...... and I'm usually the ones who gets all the problems aka technical disad.....-not know the spelling-! I'm serious! :D
  3. I don't actiolly expect much comprehension and replies, but well, I've write essays (or tried to, because they they are a hibridous of many tipes of writing) and they've never got further than my closet, so it can't be that bad, can't it?
  4. thinking that the best thing I could do would be to take sleeping pills and do not wake up ever again (I don't use them, so it's also sparking my curiosity how they work). Obviously I wouldn't do it, because If, and only If I had to, I would enjoy the 'free-rides' in a cliff, with saulty water on the bottom please (and not too cold, If possible). now, why am I writing this? Well, it's because I'm fed up with it. I've lived probably half or 2/3 of what most people on this board have (has, had.. I have problems with the verbs!) , but that shouldn't be a reason not to be 'fed up'. I don't have like uncovered needs; I'm not dying from starvation or my parent's are away all the time (well, they are but I see them everyday still and they take care of us as much as they can) and my country is not at war, in fact we are suppose to be the 'most developed country in Latin America' (whatever that means, as I usually say) and well, what else would make a person 'unhappy'? ah, I've got friends, brothers, a sister, nice people around, fine teachers, parents a fine family, economic situation... I pretty much get what I want (and If not, I do some things 'here and there' and I always end up getting it anyway) so... what would make a person think such a 'dreadful thing'? (as my english teacher says when she hears my friends ideas, which are mainly blah blah, prolly as me, and not a single action - Thanks G'd I guess!-) well, the thing is (I always say that) it's that, I just have too much of everything and I just feel like unuseful and that I'm never 'as good as...' and well, I actiolly don't mind that, cause I got a pretty strong mind that starts games and things like that, to 'disconnect me from the world' but it's just like, and probably some people share the feeling with me, things are going to fast and I can't follow the rythm! Our society (I don't know the word in english) 'says' or 'alardea´that we've advandce more than our ancestors ever dreamt off and how big the difference with the actual world and the world in the 50's is, and it seems like it's all good and nice, but it's not! and I can't make people, young people who will be the 'adults of the future' (I hate that phrase, but I don't know any other, which represents what I am trying to say) understand that, and they all seem to go around, pardon me, fool around, discussing so many irrelevant things (discussing the colour of your dress or today's last fashion is not even worth being called an 'irrelevant thing'). I can't understand how or why we change our 'values' (note that I am not religious, so it's not like a conversion speech what I'm trying to do or something such like it) for the so called 'development' ..... in my country people is dying because of the polution - you know, more industries, the more jobs and money, as the goverment says, but in a more sutile way- and no one is doing anyhing! They say like "oh, that's bad" "oh, we can't breath!".. well, do something! Get on your feet and do something! I don't know, Social desobidience (very Ghandi) or write letters, do campaigns, I don't know! It might be something minimous, but at least it's something! but no, they just stay and wait for things to change, and they won't If things continious it's course. now, why am I making such a big fuss out of somehting so small? Because it's the principle. (ah, note that now social desobidience, well at least in my country, can't speak for others, means going out, smashings things, tearing apart everything you see and find.... and it's shouldn't!). Most people know this already, and that's the worst part of it; they all know it, but they do nothing against it! I'm not saying you have to go out and try to wash people's brain, but just make a more constructive society in which values and ideals are not change for some dollars, pounds, yens.. or whatever your coin is. You shouldn't have to change what built this world (all countries were built in the bases of people's values and ideals) for buildings and power. It's a bit like sustainable development, but much stronger, harder and serious than that (not that that isn't). And coming back to the start, what does that has to do with me ( or you, you might ask)? Well, I don't know about your opinion (the reader), but I don't think it's worth staying. It sounds like so 'shallow', my answer, like you could decide that just by one or two variants, but it really goes much deeper than that; I don't know where I'm standing, neither who I am, and I don't like that. (not because I don't like it, I should just 'quit it', I know, but that's not the point I am trying to make really) If I had to choose between that and going to sleep, I rather go to sleep. But suicide, or dying, is not the same than sleeping, not even 'sleeping forever', as some people called it, get close to what it is...... doesn't it?

It's like... I'm lost here I have no clue where I am standing and where you are (you, most of the time, means 'all of you' for me -just a little reminder-) but that has never been a problem for me (it has, but I often tend to ignore that) and thanks me for waisting your time, because, and following the tradition, this thread is subject-less (which is not the same as meaningless!) Look at the bright side though; my english has improved and Tom has become the King of the World! :D
  9. I wonder that myself

Smallest 'Earth-like' planet seen By Pallab Ghosh BBC science correspondent in Stockholm, Sweden Scientists are on the lookout for Earth-like planets European scientists have discovered what they describe as the smallest Earth-like planet orbiting a star outside our Solar System. The planet is 14 times the size of Earth - not so large that it qualifies as a gas giant - and is close enough to the star that it is unlikely to be icy. Dr Nuno Santos of the University of Lisbon, the new planet can be thought of as "super-Earth-like". He was speaking at the EuroScience Open Forum in Stockholm, Sweden. According to the lead researcher Dr Nuno Santos of the University of Lisbon the new planet can be thought of as "super-Earth-like". Dr Santos claimed the discovery set a new record for the smallest planet discovered around a solar type star, "further extending European Leadership in the field", he said. The discovery was made using the highly sensitive Harps spectrograph on the European Southern Observatories 3.6m telescope in La Silla. The planet was found to be orbiting the star Mu Arae in the southern constellation of Altar. It is the second planet discovered round the star and completes a full revolution in 9.5 days. Mu Arae was already known to harbour a Jupiter-sized planet with a 650 day orbital period. Previous observations hinted that the giant planet may have a smaller companion much further away. According to Francois Bouchyof the Marseille Astrophysics Laboratory, "not only did the Harps measurements confirm what we previously believed to know about this star, but they also showed that an additional planet on short orbit was present." This makes Mu Arae a very exciting new planetary system. is it my idea or they are saying that the planet is small, then that is huge, nearly a star, and then that is very small....?
  12. Thanks! :D no collateral effects then? ah! does exigences exist?
  13. how do you called the damages that do not come out directly from something.... colateral damage/results? or something else?

I'm quite the middle of 4 and my friend the middle of 5 and 7 That's not that much, according to me
  16. I didn't say it because of that; you were just so cutting, If that's the right word. I thought you were a mormon because of the way I see you. Like, apart from the usual, they believe something that for my point of view, is unsustainable. It just doesn't have a support, but still they believe it -not because of me they shouldn't-, and they've found ways to explain it, and they are so convinced and proud of what they are doing. Me thinks you are the same, or quite like it, apart from the usual, as I said.
  17. aaaaawwwwwww, I still dont understand it, but anyway..... and don't get so unfriendly. I was just asking! (I'm reading the Book of Mormons and you and it are alike, according to me  ) and another question! If there weren't any rappers in the 190's, how was the term used? (rappers or rap?)
  18. Today's Poll: Why Are We So Much Better Than All the Other MC's? There. You tell me! ah, and suddenly another question crossed my head; are you a Mormon?
  19. Photographs!!! Milk or cow?
  20. Thanks :D and Thanks for that aswell :)
  21. bah, that works here too! I have another question though!! what are MC's?

I love people (I don't mind the gender) that have long hands and can play the Piano, but they must play Chopin. And I love guys, well I dare to say no gender again, who can take photographies, but in black and white. I also love shy guys, well I'll maintain the no gender thing, like myself, I guess :D
  23. for saying for example that the window broke itself? We were discussing with one of my British teachers, about Responsabilities, and he told us that in here, Latin America, people wouldn't take responsabilities for their acts. Then, he said, for instance when something breaks, you say it break itself (we have a phrase here that means, ie, that the chair broke by its own, not that someone did it), and he said that didn't happen in english, as far as he knew. Is there a word or a phrase for those situations, when there's no one to blame, or no one wants to take the responsability, so the thinsg just 'break by themselves'?
  24. You are not Charles. You see us, Eric, as something of 'lower quality', or as it happens in my country, of lower-class. We are not a developed country, but not because of that, we are any less or any better. In my country, sport is not something you can make profit from (as a player); it's a hobby, an not even that, because there is few people who actiolly practises a sport. Sport in my country is expensive. I play hockey, and I have to play for a private club, where I pay everything and the level is low; since sport goes towards a minority, the numbers of competitors is very few and they are no good, and If there is one good, suppose my hockey team, we don't have anyone to practise with.... there are like 3 decent clubs, and they are really far (about 2 hours, back and forth 4 hours, for one single game) and you have them only in big cities, let's say 10 to 12 places. And If you want to get a higher level, you must go to Argentina or Europe, we do a tour in Argentina, then the U.K and then South Africa to rise our level of competition, and that's payed by us mainly. So, If you think that that repeats in every single sport here, apart from Footbal, which is played everywhere, you must realise by now that sport is not something you can live of here, therefore, we don't have many profesional players, or the ones we do, are because their family was rich enough to maintain them and 'secure' them their future. So when this happens, there is a national pride and happiness; we know our goverment is not going to change, at least not in the near future, we know we won't 'catch you up', for instance, but we feel that what we did was much better that what your country did. We had two players, and they played in singles and doubles, 2 games daily each, yesterday Gonzalez played for 3 hours, finished the 3rd set 16-14 and like 3 hours later, played 3 hours again, against a German team that had it all; they should had won, because they weren't tired, they had practise and support, they are good players, but they didn't. That's why we get so happy about it; because you have it all, all except the heart. We had a swimmer, a girl, competing. We knew she was not going to win, but still she went and everyone was starring at her, and we knew she, and she did too, that there was no chance, but stand up and work really hard to represent the country; do you think Phelps was swimming for his country or for his own pride? I know they did it also for their pride, and self-confidence, Tennis is a tough game, but they also did it for 'us'. Nationalism in Latin America is very strong; regarless of who you are, when this happens, we all feel like one, we are one Nation, united, in this case, for the sport. And that's something you are never going to feel or know, independent of how many medals you have, and earn in the future. It just won't happen.
