Where can I get the Safety and Blue Room EPs and others?
Sometimes you can luck out and find them at record shops. I was visiting friends in Austin a few weeks ago, and found the complete Talk Dutch EP (3CDs) for only $8.95 at Waterloo Records (where in fact Coldplay have visited before!). I was so stoked! It was used, but in great condition, especially the CDs. Anyway, you never know what you might find if you go browsing! :shocked2:

10-Jun-2009: AT& T Center, San Antonio, TX, USA
I really want to do a two-shower this year, since I've never done it before, but it HAS to be on a Wednesday again, ugh!! Dallas was too difficult to pull off. The fact it's a month and a half earlier than the Houston date is a big plus, ha. I too really like the fact it's not outide. Oh well, I will try. Of course, I'm going to be back in England when the tix go on sale, so I hope I remember...

I was thinking of doing that this year, since they are playing at the Woodlands Pavilion here instead of the arena which is more locked down. I've been able to meet other stars before or after the show there before... I'm hoping it'll work this time. I think it'd be awesome to meet any of them really, but I look up to Will the most, so would rather meet him, ha :drummer: So, do they exit separately in their own cars?? I would have thought they would all exit together!

new north american dates
Yay! But hell, they are going to be sooooo exhausted!!! They will have been touring almost two years straight, and basically done the VLV Tour twice here, ha. Now I just have to see if I can go to the new San Antonio show... It sucks it's on a Wednesday like the Houston show. I would definately be going if it was on the weekend! I like the fact it is a month and a half before the Houston show, so they are nicely spaced apart AND that it's in an arena there, so indoors and then outdoors (Houston) shows...

Can Chris and Will play violin, Jonny contrabass, Guy cello?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I heard in one of the VLV interviews that Will plays violin. He's so freakin' talented it's almost sickening, ha :shocked2:

Coldplay tracks with alternate versions...
Mmm, I wonder if I have the demo or 'real' version then, ha. Yeah, I guess I left out 'Lost?', 'Lovers in Japan (acoustic)'... I consider 'Lovers in Japan (Osaka Sun Mix)' as a remix but is technically a different studio version, ha... The first two are studio acoustic though right?
-
Coldplay tracks with alternate versions...
Yeah, sorry I guess I should have been clearer, ha. I just meant studio versions... I edited my initial post...

Coldplay tracks with alternate versions...
Ok, so I was wondering if there are any other tracks than the ones below that have an alternate studio version (edit: not including acoustic and live versions!), whether it's different lyrics or different musical arrangement? Brothers and Sisters (3 versions: demo, 'Brothers and Sisters' single, 'Trouble' single) Don't Panic (2 versions: 'Parachutes', 'Blue Room EP') Talk (2 versions: 'X&Y', alternate version with different lyrics + arrangement) How You See The World (2 versions: Japanese 'X&Y', No.2)

LOL! No problem... figured they might get lost in all the amourous posts, ha :laugh3: For the record, I posted 3 "Will-Audios" in case anyone missed the others too... they are on the last few pages of the thread, pretty close together :) 1) Til Kingdom Come (Live in Holland) - From Talk Dutch EP 2) Death Will Never Conquer (Live in Munich - I think this is the best version i've heard so far!) + link to a bunch of Will interviews on BBC6 in 2005 3) Clocks (Live in Holland) - From Talk Dutch EP Oh, and a bit off topic, but if anyone wants any of the other tracks from the Talk Dutch EP to relive the 'Twisted Logic' tour, I can probably upload them: Square One (Live in Holland) Clocks (Live in Holland) - Already Posted God Put A Smile Upon Your Face (Live in Holland) Til Kingdom Come (Live in Holland) - Already Posted Swallowed By The Sea (Live in Holland) Talk (Live in Holland) Fix You (Live in Holland) A little trivia - this show was recorded on 7/7/05 when the London bombings happened, and Chris refers to it during 'Talk', in case anyone ends up wanting that one and wonders what he is going on about when he says 'Thanks for giving us a great evening on a difficult day" Ok, I'll shut up now... :)

You're very welcome! I know, ever since the 'Twisted Logic' tour I have wanted some audio from it since I loved some of the versions of the songs. Then I found the Talk Dutch EP in that music store, and almost fainted, lol

22-Jul-09: Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Houston, TX - Tickets, Previews, Meetups, Reviews, Setli
I think she means the seats vacated by those who were upgraded were given to the Oxfam volunteers... since then there would be 92 empty seats. I was wondering if maybe they would only give upgrades to those on the lawn at the woodlands since there are no 'seats' per se. But it looks like that might not be the case :D

News from the EMI / Warner Music / Parlophone / Atlantic Records shakeup...
Well I believe they only have one record left in their contract and a greatest hits. The fact that they are already saying they want to release the last album before the end of 2009 seems like maybe they are wanting to either shop around or go independent. I mean it will only be a year and a half since VLVODAAHF was released... I think that will be shortest time between two albums for them: Parachutes to AROBTTH: about 2 yrs, AROBTTH to X&Y: about 3 yrs, X&Y to VLVODAAHF: about 3 yrs...

LOL, you know it's just an ordinary cricket bat right! Ok, so here is my 3rd Will-Audio post - it's 'Clocks' from the Talk Dutch EP with some pretty impressive drumming by Will! http://www.sendspace.com/file/m4vfo4

Sorry, got distracted yesterday and forgot to post! Many of you probably have some version of this, but here's the BEST version of Will singing 'Death Will Never Conquer': :D http://www.sendspace.com/file/uzmpzq ...and, some old school Will phone-in interviews from 2005 - These are almost ten minutes each and are a great insight into the 'Twisted Logic Tour'. In one of these he mentions the record store I got the Dutch Talk EP from (Waterloo Records in Austin) where the 'Til Kingdom Come' version I posted earlier came from. It is now my most prized Coldplay possession :) http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/events/coldplay/ Speaking of that, I'll have to post 'Clocks' from it later, it has some MAD Will drums on it!

Maybe you should just hang out on the lawn until the show starts since you are so close, ha. I bet you only have to show your ticket to get into each reserved section, but the lawn you prob just show it at the gate and sit. I am betting it will be lawn seats that get upgraded though. Think about it, the PIT is general admission and the lawn is general admission... They aren't going to want all these empty seats in reserved from the people being upgraded. On the lawn, you can't tell they moved... mmm, in a way it makes me want to have a lawn seat just to have the opportunity of being upgraded!

Yep, that's what I meant! Here is a link to the audio of how Will reacted to the gift (plus the others reacting to their gifts!). There are pics too... http://www.nova969.com.au/site/shows/merrick_rosso_kate.aspx I also have some other Will audio links coming up later today!

LOL, you guys are hilarious... I can't believe the gift Will got, that was so funny I almost fell off my chair. I bet he was kind of embarrased by it, lol. BTW, how do you upload these links to things? I wanted to post the 'Til Kingdom Come' live version from the 2005 Talk Dutch EP that has Will singing part of it in case any of you hadn't heard it...

Your Ranking of Coldplay Albums & Why...
LOL! Thanks. Courtesy of the Houston Chronicle - it was quite a surprise to be "paparazzied" and end up in the paper with Mr. Martin :D

Your Ranking of Coldplay Albums & Why...
Technically, I've been a fan since 'Parachutes' since it was when Yellow came out that I got into the band. However, I never bought the album (until much later) and was pretty much a casual fan then. 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' was the first Coldplay album I actually bought, and that's when I became a bona-fide fan!

Your Ranking of Coldplay Albums & Why...
Ha, wow, wasn't expecting so many responses since it's a bit of work to come up with the list, lol. It's really interesting reading each others responses. I think the top 5 tracks part is VERY hard... that took me a while for some albums... Thanks all who are participating! :D

Your Ranking of Coldplay Albums & Why...
Ok, so not sure if this has been done before, but I was bored and figured I'd give it a shot. So, we have four albums, and I realised that I have a hard time figuring out what order I would put them in (if I had to choose :shocked2:) I mean, I love all of them, but thought it might be fun to see: 1) How I'd organise them if I had to 2) What the reasons were 3) What the top 5 tracks off each album would be Give it a shot, it's actually a lot harder than you may think! 1) X&Y - I chose this as #1 since there are more of my all-time favourite songs on this album. However, I don't think it's the strongest out of the bunch as a stand alone album. I feel it has a bit of, gasp, filler and I think it's a little too long and a tad over-produced, but I love all the synths, etc. and most of the songs are top notch! Top Five Songs: Speed of Sound, White Shadows, Talk, Square One, Fix You. 2) A Rush Of Blood To The Head - Ok, so picking #2 and #3 was really hard for me! I finally decided on AROBTTH since it has more of my favourite songs on it than VLV, although only by a smidge! But I also think this is the most cohesive and consistant album of theirs and the best 'Intro to Coldplay' album. Top Five Songs: Politik, God Put A Smile Upon Your Face, Clocks, Daylight, In My Place 3) Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends - Ok so AROBTTH just barely beat it to #2, so it sits at #3., lol! I think this is their second most cohesive album with no filler and just top notch songs and great experimentation. Ugh, told you this was hard to do! Top Five Songs: Viva La Vida, Life in Technicolor, Violet Hill, Lovers In Japan, Yes 4) Parachutes - Ok, so I guess that leaves Parachutes as #4. I don't think that it's my least favourite album at all, but this is where it ranks after thinking of everything. Mmm, I think it contains the least amount of my all time favourite songs, and that is why it's here. It is a great album though! Top Five Songs: Trouble, Yellow, Everythings Not Lost, Don't Panic, Shiver

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
Right now, it's 'Lovers in Japan (acoustic)'

22-Jul-09: Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Houston, TX - Tickets, Previews, Meetups, Reviews, Setli
Yeah, I agree... especially since it will be July in Houston!! However, since she's at the very back of reserved, there's still a chance!
