  1. Angie, did you buy yet another ticket for Dallas now the PIT opened up? I'd be surprised if you didn't :D
  2. Well, it was supposed to be the single instead of 'Life in Technicolour ii' but they changed it at the last minute (hence we would have had a puppet video with 'Glass of Water' as the music, he) So I guess it makes sense it might be the next single until a new album comes out...
  3. Yeah, it's funny though, it seems the biggest hits off the last 3 albums were like that. Clocks was the last to be added to AROBTTH, Talk almost didn't get added to X&Y, and Viva almost didn't get added to VLVODAAHF. And the weirdest thing, ALL THREE of those songs got Grammy nominations or wins! In regards to mainstream, the last two albums are definately more mainstream than the first two, but VLVODAAHF isn't really as much as X&Y was. VLV the song is very mainstream in it's music (lyrics not as much) and I remember the first time I heard it was surprised how 'poppy' it was. It actually overtook 'The Hardest Part' as the most poppy Coldplay song, but then they released 'Rainy Day' and I feel that's more pop than VLV. Also, I do prefer the acoustic versions of 'Lost' and 'Lovers in Japan' to the album versions.
  4. Yeah, my original copy is like that too. It makes it more rare I guess :)
  5. Right on Will... "So, we accept that it's part of the territory and know it is only for some reason, God only knows why, the successful songs that seem to be the ones that are accused of being stolen." So true  I'll tell you why, MOOLAH!
  6. Makes sense if you are travelling to see them... I just don't think I could personally afford it!
  7. You are highly likely to be right in front of the b-stage or not too far from it! :D I'm in section 10... have a pretty good seat on the side closer to Section 8 so I should be at least along the catwalk, but Houston (102, row H) and Dallas (PIT) blow it away :)
  8. As of the time of this post, they are still available on ticketmaster, so I would grab one there while they last if I were you! *EDIT - PIT TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE AS OF 6 MAY 2009... IRONICALLY, THEY ARE THE ONLY TICKETS AVAILABLE OTHER THAN LAWN*
  9. Yeah, you should be right next to the catwalk.. It's about 13-ish rows long, so you might be right in front of it if you are closer the edge! *fingers crossed for you*
  10. LOL, aww don't be jealous. Here is the video I shot... It cuts off RIGHT as it gets unplugged :beadyeyes2: stupid mobile for only letting me do 30 second clips at a time  I hope this works... it should open with Quicktime. It's not that HQ either since it was shot on my mobile, and I had to shoot the globe thing since they were all the way at the back of the arena... http://www.sendspace.com/file/vvhi6z
  11. Well, there was the statement Chris made a few months back but it was never really certain it would become a reality due to red tape at the record company, etc. until now :)
  12. On Coldplay.com I think it's the ALBUM that will be available since they don't make any additional distinction that it's a single. Even in the Coldplay Messenger email it said that the physical copy is only available at the concerts but the digital copy will be available on Coldplay.com for those not able to go to a concert... "Starting with the band's first North American tour date, at West Palm Beach in Florida on May 15th, every fan attending a show will be given a free copy of the nine-track CD, which won't be available elsewhere. Also on May 15th, LeftRightLeftRightLeft will be made available as a free download right here at Coldplay.com, for all fans (and for the same time period)." I think if we get the single at all, it will be a bonus track on the physical CD... I guess we won't know for sure until May 15th, but that's my hunch based on the wording.
  13. Ditto... plus there are only 9 tracks which struck me as sort of odd...
  14. I agree... plus 'The Hardest Part' is on there. However, the Talk Holland 3-disc set was pretty close to a Twisted Logic tour CD. It has seven live tracks, of which one is 'Fix You' and I think it's my most prized Coldplay possession!:escaping: It's nice in a way to not have 'Yellow' on there, ha... There are SO many live versions of that. Other than 'Clocks' and 'Fix You', it's a good collection of songs that we don't officially have live. Also, maybe those two are 'special' versions in some way?
  15. Hehe, yeah I was there for that! It was awesome! I think he handled himself very well though. I actually was recording on my mobile and stopped just as the cable was pulled out... ugh...
  16. YAY! What great news! I'm thinking the hidden track idea might be true... why would they give it that title? (unless they are referring to Chris running around on stage!) :laugh3: Maybe it hasn't been mentioned because it IS a hidden track and therefore they want it to be a surprise... I thought 9 tracks was kind of odd too... although that is what they have on their rules in the bakery. LOL, maybe after the 60 minutes reveal of the list, they decided the next release had to fit in with the rules!
  17. They actually showed up earlier in the week. It was good news to the bad news I couldn't go to the Vancouver concert anymore (was going to be on a business trip and it got cancelled). It's pretty exciting though, I've never been in the pit before. The way I see it is the worst part of the pit is still the best part of the venue, so I don't care where I am or if I'm early or not :laugh3: I think it's just how the promoter releases tickets and how well a concert is selling too... The Woodlands show near Houston has been showed as sold out numerous time, it even has a big 'sold out' logo across it on the venue's site, but then a few new tickets pop up every now and then. I gave up looking for PIT there now that I have it for Dallas, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are released soon too... The closest seats also tend to be reserved by the band for various reasons, so maybe they gave permission for some to be released. It's definately made me think twice about buying tickets in a pre-sale in the future.
  18. LOL, oh well they are entitled their opinion, but I think this response shows it was more an attack than an opinion since it was so over the top. I don't think it's too offensive considering who it's coming from. I mean they obviously like to seek attention since they apparently need to dress up in halloween costumes to distract from that stuff they call 'music'...
  19. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/music/article2401509.ece COLDPLAY may have made their name with heart-stirring rock ballads. But that’s about to change thanks to drummer WILL CHAMPION’s tinkering in the studio. The tub-thumper wants to take the rockers on a rave odyssey after investing in some top-of-the-range beat-making equipment. Recent sessions have seen the sticks-man unveil a thundering, 168-beats-per- minute banger of a track. That’s proper hands in the air, big fish, little fish, cardboard box tempo. And at that speed it’s even faster than many techno tracks or anthems from rave’s heyday. I’m told: “The lads are still on a creative roll in the studio and Will is bringing lots of ideas to the table. Whistles “He’s got a new drum machine and has been having a lot of fun pushing it to its limits. His most recent offering is turbo-charged, to say the least, but the lads have been having a great time working with it.” Creative Will — who frontman CHRIS MARTIN believes is the most versatile musician in the band — isn’t just keen on following the white gloves and whistles direction. He’s also been taking Chris, JONNY BUCKLAND and GUY BERRYMAN down an experimental jazz avenue. Nice. The source added: “Will has got a track in seven-four time that he’s working on, 99 per cent of rock music is based around the standard four-four time signature. “It’s only the most adventurous of jazz people who compose anything with such an irregular beat. But he’s pressing forward with it.” Will must be sprinkling something special on his Sugar Puffs if jazz is the new Coldplay flavour. But I suspect he might have a kindred spirit at the band’s converted bakery HQ in north London. BRIAN ENO, who is once again producing the new material, is no stranger to the experimental side of pop music. He’s been involved in all manner of avant-garde projects. The lads, who released single Life In Technicolor earlier this year, have been recording the follow-up to last year’s Viva La Vida album during a break from their world tour. In the middle of May they will hit the road again, touring North America until the end of June before playing some summer festivals in Europe. They’ll bring their current campaign to a close with shows at Wembley Stadium on September 18 and 19. Just in time for Ibiza’s closing parties.
  20. YAY! Go Will!! I wonder if this is also a result of the use of the drum machine on the tour for GPASUYF/Talk? Also, VLV has kind of a more bouncy beat to it too... I remember when I first heard it, I thought it was a lot more POP than usual, and it took the crown from 'The Hardest Part'. I'd be fine with it. Will has a good sense for what is good or not so I don't think we have to worry that they'll go off in some crazy direction. I mean, the last four albums have turned out fine and Will has had an increasing impact on each of them...
