  1. Will, you are my hero. :wacky:
  2. I know Ainsley got hers recently (like, yesterday? I'm not sure), and she seemed to be incredibly excited about it.
  3. That's true. Thinking about that, though, makes me scared that I'll definitely never see Muse live. :bigcry:
  4. I may just put them both up. God, I'm so nervous. :uhoh:
  5. You make an interesting point. Either way, I like making mixtapes, so if you guys are up for it, I am, too.
  6. How in the world do you manage all that, Michael? Geez.
  7. A mini one? Whatcha mean by that?
  8. ...Actually, yes. That'll work just fine. The only part I'd have a bit of a concern about is the big piano bit where I'm having to plane my hands as I'm singing, but I think I can work that out. In the meantime, I have other things. OK, so I tried singing, and I have a couple of things. I wasn't sure if I wanted to start straight off with Muse, so I initially tried "Grounds for Divorce" by Elbow. That really didn't work, because A. my voice shakes waaaaay too much in that recording, and B. I realized upon listening back to it that I was subconsciously trying way too hard to sound like Guy Garvey, which is bad. :| I went and sang to two tracks. You can either have a recording of "Soldier's Poem" where my voice and Matt's are blended to where I'm harder to hear, or you can have a recording of "Unintended" where my voice is a bit clearer, but I have to stop at the end because my CD skipped and got stuck. Your choice. :3
  9. Well, I mean, I can sing on pitch. It's the tone I'm worried about. :uhoh: At any rate, it's nice to know that you guys will still love me, even if I butcher it. :3
  10. Dude! I have the same problem! To be fair, I think part of my problem is the fact that I'm VERY self-conscious about my voice. Remember how I was worried about how I sounded when talking? Take that, multiply it by 10, and you have what I think of as I sing. Actually, if I were to sing anything, it'd be the first time I'd ever publically sang for a group of people. :freak: I actually was considering doing "Apocalypse Please," but because of what I said above about my voice issues, I'm not so sure if I should. I can play the piano part just fine. I'm just afraid of getting ridiculed due to how my singing sounds. DAMN YOU, LACK OF CONFIDENCE. WTF, Christina.
  11. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks! :nice:
  12. :cheesy: FANK YEW.
  13. Hmmm, maybe. If I were to do that, I'd probably have to make a multi-track. I can play the piano part, but it's pointless if you don't have the melody line with it, and truth be told, I'm not all that used to playing piano and singing at the same time. Also, doing the melody line with another instrument would require me to use another track, anyway, as I need both hands for the piano. Perhaps I should put more thought into these things before I blindly go, "Yeah, let's do this!"
  14. Awwwww, no you don't.
  15. Awww, Sara.
  16. BAHAHA. :D I'll just try again tomorrow, and if it doesn't work then, I'll put in a request for you to upload it. :nice: Awwwww. Fank yew. :wacky: :cheesy: OK, so since I'm basically getting "YES" from everyone, I might as well actually do something. I'd love to take song suggestions, as I'm having a bit of trouble deciding what to do. Yeah, Natt, cheers! This is fun. :D Yeah, Ines! You sound so adorable. Actually, at first, the Portuguese didn't register, and I for some reason felt like your accent was Russian or something. I wasn't thinking clearly. BAHA. :| But yeah. You're not boring. As an American, I don't typically hear people that sound like you. I think it's cool. :wacky:
  17. Awww, Ines. You're too sweet. Thank you, and g'night. :nice: Good, because I try to avoid that at all costs. Arrogance is one of two things that I find are a huge turn-off when it comes to other people, so I don't want to be like that. Awwwww, thank you. :laugh4: No, that didn't sound creepy at all. Kelly, I downloaded your thingy, and it messed up. I got like, half a second's worth of just noise. :wtf: I'll try again later. ... I've done a bit of thinking about this, and I wanted to ask you guys about it. How would you guys feel about hearing me do a full Muse cover? I wanna do it, but I don't wanna make a fool out of myself. Heh. If you like, it doesn't even have to be a Muse cover. I can do something else. It's just that I feel like doing more of that after the bundle of compliments I got just for the TIRO snippet.
  18. Well, I just didn't want to sound arrogant. I feel like I tend to sound that way a bit when I talk about my musical abilities. :disappointed: Actually, in general, I don't really care to talk about myself that much because other people are so much more interesting than I am. Who am I? I'm Violet, and I'm a 21-year-old music education major. BOOM. That pretty much covers my life. Other people have much more elaborate lives, y'know?
  19. I just used the voice recorder on my mp3 player. That's probably no help to you. :\ Please do. I started band in the 6th grade, so I've been playing it for about 10 years now. Horn and piano are the ones I've spent the most time on. I have a pretty good handle on any brass instrument; I marched baritone throughout high school, and I own a cornet (same thing as trumpet, basically) and trombone, both of which I play proficiently. Trombone is a bit of a challenge, given it uses a slide instead of valves, but it's OK. I also own a flute, clarinet, and saxophone. I love playing the flute, surprisingly enough. I've owned mine for a little over a year, and I think I do really well for a brass player. The same goes for clarinet. The saxophone is the newest addition to my collection; I got it this past Christmas. I'm still not very good at that one yet, but I'm getting better. It helps that one of my best friends is a saxophone major. I own a guitar, too, but I can't really play it. I haven't spent enough time with it. I can also play harmonica and recorder. Wow. That was way more lengthy than I intended it to be. I'm sorry. :embarrassed: :awesome: I'm trying to download Kelly's post now. Cecilia, I'll try to load your video promptly. It'll take time, as I'm at my house with the slow Internet. :shifty:

  22. Your musical compatibility with CPrules is SUPER. Music you have in common includes Jon Hopkins, Noah and the Whale, Gayngs, Bon Iver, and Mew. As an added bonus, I'm actually listening to Jon Hopkins right now. :awesome:
  23. Please do. We'd love to be able to understand what you're saying. You may very well be the only person in this thread who speaks Portuguese. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, as I found out, my accent's not nearly as bad as I thought it was. Perhaps it's the same way with you. :nice:
  24. "Baby"-Serj Tankian
