  1. HOW ARE YOU PEOPLE GETTING THIS DONE SO QUICKLY? :freak: Seriously. I find that I have to take my sweet precious time to make sure it's exactly how I want it.
  2. Thank you so much, guys. This will mean so much to her and her family.
  3. I learned this morning that I don't need cream in my coffee. :awesome:
  4. WOOO, low brass! :awesome: I marched baritone for marching band in high school because my band director didn't believe in marching horns. I loved it. :D Yeah, I'm a horn major at my university. It's pretty damn awesome. :wacky: I play a lot of other instruments, though (including piano, which was my first instrument). He did the same thing for his piece "Sleep," and I have very good friends who were chosen for that Virtual Choir. :wacky: You're quite welcome. It sounds that way because Concordia are a much more professional ensemble. People were complaining on the link about the strength of the basses, but I don't really agree with that. Awww, thank you. ME TOO. :awesome: I personally didn't play it, but the Wind Ensemble at my university played it. Here, we play a lot of Ticheli. My ensemble (Wind Symphony) is playing Ticheli's 2nd symphony as the closer of our concert that we're playing April 19th. ... OK. Mixtapes. Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out artists to put on mine. :freak: This can't be good. :uhoh:

    ^^ WIN.
  6. Update: It was a rough night last night, and Nancy is currently in surgery. Keep praying hard for her, guys. I've just posted on her wall letting her know how much support she's getting from you guys.
  7. I don't willingly listen to the radio, but whenever my brother puts it on as he drives in his truck, this song tends to pop up quite a bit. [ame= ] [/ame]
  8. You were a brass player? That's cool! Which instrument did you play?
  9. "Lux Aurumque" is one piece of music that puts me in tears every time I listen to it. It's just chockful of emotion. It's extremely beautiful. If you liked the Virtual Choir version, go listen to Concordia sing it. It's fabulous. There's also a band arrangement for it; it doesn't sound as good (to me, anyway), but it's still Whitacre. Yeah, we did. Actually, I'm sure if I asked my band director for a copy, I could get it from him. I may just do that, actually. Thanks for the suggestions! I'll most certainly look into that.
  10. Yeah, I know. It's amazing how it all worked out. I know for sure Nancy will be more than happy to know that the boys are thinking of her. I'll try to post updates as I see themfor you guys.
  11. Actually, the family has received contact from Matt, and from what her brother says, he's been most gracious to them. The band plans on playing "Invincible," dedicating it to her, and they're sending a signed Bellamy Manson for her. That's the info I got from the last status update.
  12. Thanks, Christina. They need all the help they can get at this point.
  13. I have a request for the Muser community today. I have a lot of online friends. There's one in particular I have to mention. Her name is Nancy. She's a Muser like us and, like me, Chris is her favorite. Anyway, she's been in a "critical situation," and from the updates I'm getting, her percentage of survival is looking bleak. I don't have a lot of information, as her brother (who posts updates on Facebook) isn't really giving too much out at this time. I was wondering if you could please keep Nancy in your thought and pray for her to get through this time. I don't know her on an intimate basis, but I do know that her love for Muse is great and she's a pretty awesome person. Thanks, guys.

    Awww, Kelly.
  15. Erifc Whitacre! :cheesy: The man is a genius. My concert band played "Equus" last spring. That piece is deceptively hard. We used the choir parts and everything. Also, thanks for reminding me I should listen to more Ulrich Schnauss. I listened to a track of his and liked it rather much.
  16. WUT. The Middle East has an album out!? :surprised: Man. I really need to start visiting the Aussie thread more often. I'm clearly missing out on things I need to know. :bomb:
  17. ^ Yeah, Chopin! He's my favorite, too.
  18. Awwwww. It's OK. I myself go through multiple lists of multiple things as I go about making these mixtapes.
  19. You forgot the biggie: [ame= ] [/ame] It's all Wolsty, babeh! :charming: /fangirl.
  20. I can answer that for you. We always have people that, for some reason or another, cop out at the end of the exchange and never reveal themselves (or their tracklistings) to the person they made their mixtape for. It's customary to send the tracklisting for stuff like this as a precaution, so even if the mixtape maker doesn't reveal themselves, the recipient at least gets to know what was on their tape.
  21. The last time I even did anything like that was when I took Mathematics in Society my first semester of college. I remember nothing. :|
  22. Thank you, Lore, for reminding me. To my mixer: Please, whatever you do, do not put Oasis on my mixtape. In fact, Beady Eye is probably a bad idea, too. And Devendra Banhart. Thanks. :nice:
