Favorite Basslines
For those of you who put "The National Anthem" by Radiohead...why? Honestly, that bassline annoys me to no end. :bigcry: OK, enough about that. Time for a song. [ame= ] [/ame] I've always had some sort of bizarre attachment to this one.

2011 Albums Worth Listening To
I don't see how you think that sounds indie. I get more of a pop vibe than anything else.

The 8th Mixtape Exchange (Links in first post)
I just reread the first page. Kelsie, did you mean to say that the date would be the 18th? If so, that's on a Monday, not a Saturday. I just thought I'd make you aware of that.

What is that even supposed to mean? :wtf: Well, to me, it sounds very chill, which is something (particularly right now) that I appreciate. :nice:

I totally voted before reading the post. OOPS. :uhoh: To make things clear, my top 3 out of that poll would be Muse, Elbow, and The National.

- Scared of the future?
Yeah, but for me, it's the one thing that I'm better at/love more than anything else, so not doing music was never an option for me. Just thinking about having to pick a Plan B in case Plan A doesn't work scares me something big time. That's how I think of it, haha. :wacky: I used to feel that way, but I've slowly taken steps to where I'm not so uncomfortable about things, and I'm very glad I did. It's helped me grow a lot as a human being. Take chances and be bold; you won't regret it. You know, sometimes that happens to people. My brother just now has decided to switch from sports science to Christian ministry. He feels like it's right for him, and he feels like he'll be much happier that way. I'm even going to help him on that by helping him get a head start in Greek. (It's required for his new major.) Even if you do find out that your first choice isn't for you (which I've seen happen to a lot of people), it's not the end of the world. You have plenty of time in your collegiate career to explore different alternatives. I had a friend who changed his major in his fourth year of college because he didn't feel his current major was right, and he's now happily teaching band in a small Texan town. So yeah. Don't fret. Either way, you'll be successful. I know you will.- 30 Day Song Challenge - DAY 01-DAY 30
YES. :cheesy: Ridiculous. :freak:- Scared of the future?
Dude. It's like you read my mind. :surprised:- Scared of the future?
I'm a music education major. When I get my degree, I hope to be a band director.- Scared of the future?
I'm actually more afraid of NOT getting a job at this point, given the cuts being made to fine arts programs. My friend's mom got fired due to this very thing. :anxious:- Vinyl Freaks and Geeks
I have a few vinyls that my parents bought for me, but I've never bought any myself, mainly because I don't have a working record player. I have a few vinyls of horn players that I should probably listen to (e.g. Barry Tuckwell...that guy was goooood), and not too long ago, my parents bought me two Mannheim Steamroller vinyls. ("Fresh Aire III" and "Fresh Aire VI"...I was really excited to get those. :cheesy:) There have been many times, though, when I wish I had money to buy a record player and vinyls. There was one particular visit to Hastings that reminded me of just that. Finding The National merch of any sort here is rare enough. Imagine my surprise, then, when I found a "Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers" vinyl. I freaked out hardcore. My mom was looking at me strangely and made a comment about how uncouth the album title was. Due to funds being low, I had to leave that poor little vinyl, and I'm afraid I'll never see it again. :bigcry:- What have you learned today?
Haha, thanks. I still need sugar, but that's because I'm not a fan of bitter things in general (which coffee tends to be). I'm the same way with tea. That sounds...AMAZING.- 30 Day Song Challenge - DAY 01-DAY 30
