Wow what can I say. I'm a relative newcomer, having only started listening to Coldplay in June 2008. So I don't have any previous tours/eras to compare with. But I've seen a lot of concerts in my 45 years, and without a doubt these Viva shows have been right there at the top. Just the other night in Guadalajara, having those butterflies come down on me again... . it just choked me up like it did the very first time. It's been an amazing experience these past 2 years. All the same, I'm really looking forward to the next chapter of the Coldplay story. I can't wait to see what they come up with next. Having gone back into their discography, I can see how they've sort of reinvented themselves a little with each new album. These guys are just so talented, I'm sure they'll knock us out again with their next phase...

What is security like at this venue? Are there metal detectors, wands, patdowns etc? I'd like to try to get a largish camera in...

Extended forecast is calling for 74 degrees and partly cloudy both days... hope it stays that way!!! And oh yeah, we'll be looking like tourists too. I'm an Asian American female and my friend couldn't be more blond nor fair-skinned.

I was really hoping for the curved stage with the huge all-screen half oval backdrop... one of the reasons I was so desperate to get to Latin America to see it (couldn't make any of the European shows). Oh well, it'll still be awesome no matter what stage they're on. Could be a blank wall as far as I'm concerned! :)

Snowstorm here in Philadelphia...Twenty inches (51cm) so far with plenty more to come.... I can't wait for Mexico!!!! :cool:

Argghh... you won't believe what I just went through! I just used the services of a professional translator to call TM Mexico. The problem is that we will be arriving in Mexico City the day before the Foro Sol show, and in Guadalajara the day before THAT show. And the website kept saying that we had to pick up the tix *48hrs* in advance or they will be cancelled. So I spent a week setting up this conference call with a translator. (I don't speak a word of Spanish.) So we call them tonight, got put on hold for like half an hour... all the while I am paying the translator's fee AND long distance charges to Mexico... finally get connected to (fortunately) a very nice service rep. To make a long story short, they refused to mail us the tix ahead of time, or send them via email... BUT they arranged for us to be able to go to a TM outlet at the MC airport the day we arrive, show our ID and credit card and order #'s and then they will print out tickets for BOTH shows for us. MEXICO HERE WE COME!!! :dance:

I already purchased my Guadalajara tickets online. My understanding is that they have to be picked up at the venue box office 48 hrs in advance, not just any Ticketmaster in Mexico. Maybe I'm missing something.... I hope I'm wrong..??? If I hadn't bought the tix yet, I guess I could've just waited to get to get to Mexico to get them, but I'd be afraid that they'll have sold out of pit ("Golden Circle") by then.

Okay, I'm feeling a lot better about the whole thing. What do you all think about the possibility of a 2nd Foro Sol date on the 7th? The reason I'm asking is, we're supposed to fly to Guadalajara on the 8th, but if there's no Mexico City date on the 7th then I'm thinking we should fly the 7th so that we can pick up our tickets 48 hrs in advance.

Thank you for all the helpful info so far!! What do you think about riding the subway? We are staying at a hotel near the museums. I'm sure we'll be able to call a safe taxi from the hotel to get to the venue, but I'm concerned about getting back after the show. What do you think would be the best course of action? Note: we stick out like a sore thumb.. female Asian (speaks no Spanish) and male Caucasian (speaks a bit of Spanish) and it will be at night (after the concert).

I got tix for both MC and Guadalajara on Ticketmaster. However, it says that "all tickets not collected 48 hours before the event will be cancelled so please pick up your tickets before this time." Well, I'm not going to be in those cities 48 hrs before the events. I guess I have until March to work something out.

Okay, now they added the "will call" option for customers in the States.

WTF are we supposed to do??!!???

They have no shipping options for outside of Mexico.... and no print-at-home??!!!?????

Arrgghhh!! Okay, at least it's not only me. I'm in the States and can NOT get tix on TicketMaster no matter what I do. Guess I'll just have to try Saturday also. :angry:

Please forgive me, I don't speak Spanish... Ticketmaster has "Coldplay Disco" listed for March 7 at Foro Sol... cheap tickets... what is this??? Parking for March 6??
