yeah, you kinda think that he imagined some of the lyrics don't you? but then the other guys seem to know exactly what/who he's writing about...i've read/seen interviews where Jonny says he knows just which girl Gary's writing about in each album while Paul's said Gary's lyrics tend to be about his past relationships & how silly he was. :dozey: on another note, i brought around a group of schoolkids at a uni event today & their teacher looked EXACTLY like Mark McClelland! 'cept his name was James... it was still kinda surreal tho. :P

oooh...shall need to look it up on YouTube then. if it's out there... :D

agreed. tho for a moment there i was like "oh god! please don't tell me Gary's turned into some new age hippy type!" :stunned: ...good thing he followed up by writing that he hasn't become just that. i mean, can any of you really imagine Gary being all zen & healthy living like Moby or Jason Mraz? great post by him anyway...& pretty darn lengthy too. something tells me he hit the message board's word limit cos it looked to me like the ending's not quite finished. :P

still pretty winter-y here...but we've had the sun out & no rain this week. nice cold weather (for me). i love the cold weather! i think i'm naturally programmed to be fine with cold weather...haha :P & i don't have any sinus problems so far while i've been here. back in Malaysia & Singapore, every morning i wake up with varying degrees of sinus problems...my family said that they always know i'm up when they start hearing me sneeze in the mornings. :dozey:

^ have to agree with you there. :disappointed: btw, i'm fairly sure that Snow Patrol played at one of the SXSW (i.e. South By South West) festivals a few years back...i'm just not sure which year. but in any case, i found this site that's got (unofficial) torrents for all the SXSW Showcasing Artists since 2005 (we're talking about a whopping 5.43GB of mp3s here if you seriously want to d/l every thing! )

well, not really the whole UK...they didn't do any Reworked gig in Wales. then again, i don't think they are this round either...? & festivals count as "touring" too... :P oh well...i've seen them once already. i just need to learn to be more patient (not one of my better known traits) & wait for next time...like after i'm done with my course & get a job in the UK *fingers crossed i survive to graduate even* :dozey:

thanks for the feedback! :D did you make your cuppa at the start of the show? cos they were like the first act on, i think... :dozey:

in Malaysia, practically everyone knows who The All-American Rejects are & barely any know about Kasabian...& Kasabian were the headline act while The All-American Rejects were the 2nd billing at the MTV World Stage event back in August 09. *lol* i can imagine! i think the same might happen with me too! whereabouts is this anyway? GREAT STUFF!!! here's something i came up with for my assignment that's due on Sunday...& i should thank you girls for that great pic of Tom, which i've used for this make belief gig poster. :D Original Size (much bigger) Original Size (much bigger) i can't decide which one to go with...

haha...yeah. same thought! i think if i didn't already know who Tom Meighan is i might've mistaken him for Ewan (who is also a Star Wars fanboy). & i think you did miss it. cos they played Vlad complete with Noel Fielding onstage tossing goodies at the crowd as Vlad.

well, from what i know, if it does happen, it's gonna be year end. but nothing's confirmed as yet for Malaysia even anyway. wrong...i'm not going for Amsterdam or any of this European tour's gigs either. i don't think i am anyway...as tempting as Paris (nearest for me, i think) or Berlin (i've no idea why, but that city came to mind in particular) are. & they're touring every European/UK country except England! :dozey:

awww...it's not much better for me back in Malaysia. Coldplay's gone to Singapore about 3 times, but that's about 5hrs' drive away from my hometown. & Snow Patrol've so far never come to Malaysia or Singapore even. so i had to come to UK to see the guys... :dozey: well, ok...i didn't really plan it out that way...i just got lucky that they were even having a gig at the city i'm in now. but i hear that there might be a chance they're going to Malaysia this year...while i'm here in the UK. talk about irony...if it does happen. :P

gonna watch the replay(?) of the NME Awards later...just to see Kasabian. haha great new vids! & the ending on the Manchester one's cute! love Tom's house! hahaha so many cool posters around the room! & love that Tom's actually quite a scifi fanboy/geek! :wacky: just happens that i read an interview with him on StarWars.com too...apparently Tom reckons he looks like Obi-Wan Kenobi!

"Shutter Island" - WTF did Scorsese do there??
oh, looks like this one's a miss then...or wait for it to be out in DVD. it did looked interesting from the trailer. but i wouldn't use The Departed as a Scorsese reference or benchmark...cos he took the movie idea/story/concept/etc from the awesome Hong Kong movie, Infernal Affairs (which itself is better than The Departed, imo).

:laugh3: i was dead tired when i watched it, but i was laughing away still! it IS weird seeing Gary just sitting there not talking. he even looks a bit sulky at the start. & that thing with the paper signs is adorable...haha & darn that broken jaw! no "fuck off!" reaction from him... :P (but at least Nathan gets to speak!)

Hello Malaysia!
*lol* The Sims : Coldplay Edition! that's a very good job so far with the guys btw, Pai! :D

OMG!!! they beat U2 at something!!! :stunned: *imagines Gary doing his "fuck off..." reaction :laugh3: * i still have conflicting interests in the "Best Irish Band" thing, but i tought "Best Irish Live Performance" would've been between Snow Patrol or U2.........did not quite expect it to go to The Script. :P

not officially, but i can easily split it into 3 individual files for you if you want. :) heh...actually, i do agree with you that VERY few people outside of Europe/UK knowing Run. & i do sometimes get annoyed when people just judge Snow Patrol on Chasing Cars only. but i think it's a modern day classic cos of the mood in the crowd at Snow Patrol gigs whenever Run is played (even if i've only been to 1 gig & the rest is just videos i've seen). Run somehow has a bigger effect emotionally than Chasing Cars, especially live. & i haven't seen a lot of Snow Patrol's music videos, but i have to agree with you that Set Fire To The Third Bar is a great video...& that Gary looks great in it too in the suit & not too long & messy hair. heh hmmm...you do? tho that IS a weird message tho...telling someone they live in the wrong area!

well, i *try* to play it...tho i think i'm rather sloppy on my chords & my strumming needs (a lot) of work. but i'll look up the tabs for Delicate anyway & give it a try. :)

another (fanmade) video : [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0C6_nmnFpFQ]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0C6_nmnFpFQ[/ame] :wacky: :wacky: :wacky: btw, is it just me or does Nathan look like he's perpetually got a stoner look on just about all the photos? :P (& i still think he looks like Tobey Maguire) nice to see Snow Patrol getting some love from the US radio stations, Jen! :) i think Run's a (modern day) classic as it is already, but no harm re-releasing it, i suppose. especially since most ppl outside of the UK know Chasing Cars more than Run anyway. i can't find the video clip of it anymore cos Channel 4's blocked it, but when Snow Patrol where the "house band" on a (really hilarious) show called 'Sunday Night Project', one of the hosts made a tongue-in-cheek request for them to "play that Leona Lewis song"...which many do mistake Run for anyway, as the others were saying earlier. & i think so far it looks like a few of their older songs (the "oldies but goodies", i like to call them) are being re-released? maybe it's a marketing strategy on Universal/Fiction's part... *brain starts imagining a group of polar teddies throwing flying objects (namely rubber duckies)...* :laugh3: (i seem to have gone a bit loopy... :shame: )

oooh!!! you lucky lucky girl!!! frontage + Serge bootie (i'm talking about the maracas, mind you) :D @squareone13 : haha...well i usually get most of the British humour, but maybe i just wasn't in the mood for it that nite. i kinda was expecting Kasabian to do a Billie Jean or Thriller cover when he mentioned the MJ tribute thing........& to be honest, if they did, it'd be like the ULTIMATE surprise performance! haha :P tho i'm still wondering if Tom's slide was totally intentional or he'd slipped since he was running full pelt towards the stage then. cos he recovered from it pretty darn well, imo.
