  1. ah.......so much activity in here since Ward Park! haven't peeked in here since that weekend. been busy working on some other stuff...& pity about there not being a livestream, end of the day. (tho they did use Chasing Cars in Britain's Got Talent that evening... :P ) i think Bradley takes some incredibly awesome & epic shots as it is already...including this one. i'm not entirely sure why, but i really really really love this photo!!! :wacky: ......& it's not because of Gary wearing that jersey. i don't think so, anyway. as cool as the implication by someone that i seem to have a "telepathic connection" with him sounds thought he was acting like such a child when he yelled out to Jonny Evans (nonsensical fact of the day...he plays for Man United!!! ~ no prizes for guessing who i support btw... ;) ) about wearing the jersey first. & that smug look he had all through the song after that...BLOODY ADORKABLE!!! ...as always. :wacky: :laugh3: :wacky: if Big Broken is an indication of the direction their next album's taking, then i'm really looking forward to it! the song feels darker & moodier, kinda Final Straw-ish, but then i generally love songs that are dark & moody (sound & lyrics-wise)...so bring it on, guys!!! anyway, back to trying to find a way to watch that BBC N. Ireland show...2 emails today from the mailing list telling me about it. argh! SP, you mock me! :inquisitive:
  2. loved that episode!!! & that starry night scene was lovely!!! :wacky: & Bill Nighy's curator...haha...he never quite realised who it was he was talking about!!! :laugh3: but i thought what he said about Vincent Van Gogh was really nice & touching... *teary eyed*
  3. well, the way i see it is...unless you're standing or looking at a map of Ireland upside down...Dublin is in the East Coast of Ireland (South East, actually). while Galway is on the West Coast (South West) & i'm not very sure about Cork, but i think it's north of Galway (so, North West likely). so maybe the following conversation about that photo is right? :laugh3: Q: where in the country would you be when Dublin is north-west,galway is north-east and cork is north east?? A: when Dublin is in the north-west, galway in north-east and cork in north east .. you'd be drunk of your tits with guinness. :dozey::dozey::dozey:
  4. just to be sure...cos i'm starting to get confused with the very similar names (+ i just woke up)...your "beloved Paolo" is Paolo Nutini, right? or Paul 'Pablo' Wilson? in any case, the photos in question are here (re-posting for convenience's sake...& we can never get enough of pix of SP in here, right? :wink3: ) btw...can any Irish ppl (or anyone who's real good at Geography) confirm if my belief that the signs are all pointed in the wrong direction is sensible? / based on the sign's arrows: Dublin = North West / Cork & Galway = North East? :p
  5. well, that guy is Scottish & has an Italian-y name........................................................ but no. that's not Paul with them. it's Paolo Nutini. i was initially thinking if that might somehow be Paul/Pablo (see the name similarity? ;) ) too...as he's looking unusually perky/hyper there - must be that pint of Guinness he had. :laugh3: or..............Paul Wilson is really Paolo Nutini!!! :wink3: or i may just have gone a bit bonkers after all that work i've been doing on my dissertation today. :uhoh: :shame: :escaping:
  6. great (smiley-laden) review as always! & never too late for a review or 2! :) & it goes well with Bianca's live updates too...heh was reminded of your statement when i read this article in the Belfast Telegraph. & i suppose you'd already have read it already yourself by now, but for those who aren't on FB or just haven't seen it, it looks like there *might* be a new song debuting at Ward Park already even!
  7. oh dear...that's hardly the most flattering of preview images there on that YouTube window...haha :inquisitive: ...the song's great tho! & this is gonna be the 1st single too (good choice on the label's part)! :)
  8. haha...forgot about visitors! tho i wouldn't consider Guinness serve-able as food...unless he cooks with the Guinness too. & yeah, been there done that...only even realised it cos the house floor was flooded. i wasn't the one who had to drag the guy out (thankfully!), but i don't think the 3 guys who did were looking forward to finding their housemate naked & passed out on the shower room floor either. :dozey:
  9. i'm not sure if he completely doesn't drink anymore, actually. i think the interviewer interpreted him saying he doesn't miss drinking alcohol since the last one he had months ago as the same as saying he doesn't drink anymore. cos there's his answer of "The answer to both is Guinness" in another recent interview where he was asked "What food or drink is always in your fridge?" BUT it's great to see that Gary's acknowledged that you don't have to get hammered to have fun with friends! :D definitely an important point that he's highlighted since the band's now in a very public "relationship" with Guinness, imo... i personally have never seen the point of getting piss drunk when out with friends. the next day you'll be too hungover to even remember what was so fun about the night & the sober ones will make sure our drunk mates get home safely...or don't drown in their own shower at 4am, but it's not a fun thing to have to keep doing. :dozey:
  10. haha...their Arthur's Day performance can be your birthday gift from them then! :D ...& i bet they'll have a new song already by then. just a question of whether they'll "debut" it at Arthur's Day. maybe Gary's regretting not wearing sunnies...or wishing he's holding a Guinness rather than a sign for Galway with the sun in his face.
  11. i tend to make big jumps...i started with PS 7. then i move on to PS CS3. i *might* get CS5 with all these new nifty stuff & i do have student price for it (doesn't make it any cheaper tho...Web Design Premium (student price) = £200+!!! :stunned: )
  12. i do wonder why sites for alcohol brands even bother with the age question thing. it's not like the website can make an ID check on visitors... anyway, i don't really like Guinness much beyond 1 pint...& i did "like" Guinness Ireland (specifically) since the staff at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin were actually excited to find out that i'm from Malaysia :D ...even if only because Malaysia & Guinness go a loooooong way back historically. :dozey: i honestly couldn't tell either...i just thought it couldn't be Snow Patrol. some of the guesses/comments posted were hilarious to read anyway. someone mentioned "The Others" while another said "Saint Patrick" & then there was 1 who posted that it's The Beatles reforming. most kept assuming/guessing it was Snow Patrol, of course. :laugh3: found out what the weird cryptic hinting around was for finally. Guinness launched Arthur's Day 2010 in Dublin today & the guys (or rather, 3 of them...from the looks of it) are there for the launch! quite liked the pix posted on FB...& Jonny seems to be the only 1 consistently with a Guinness in hand + has a "cool guy" pose going there. haha
  13. does anyone know what in the world that Guinness Ireland FB page seem to be teasing/hinting about? cryptic messages about the time & photos around posh hotels & all...
  14. ah, crud...i can't seem to watch that video on Firefox/Linux without it crashing the browser. :disappointed:
  15. i do...& i see you're a budding designer too. nice. :)
  16. was at the CS5 roadshow in Bristol today & i must say that the new Photoshop has some really nifty new features added in...tho i'm comparing it to the CS3 version i'm using now. but that Context Aware + the Puppet Warp stuff is coolness! (provided i have the RAM to spare...took a few seconds to process on the speakers' Macbook Pros as it is each time they used these features & turning stuff into 3D form) :bomb: :bomb: :bomb:
  17. after seeing Gary's dancing, i can't help but laugh imagining...what more a whole group of Gary clones! :laugh3: ...tho having said that, i'm not that fantastic a dancer myself. so maybe i shouldn't be laughing too much. karma... :inquisitive:
  18. woooooo!!! front row + a touch of Meighan!!! you lucky girl!!!
  19. haha...i totally get where Gary & johkujii are coming from with barely watching TV. ads are annoying 99% of the time (especially the Go Compare ad & the LG phone ad in the UK now) & i hate waiting for new episodes, especially with nailbiters like 24...or Chuck, which i am rather annoyed with as i'm still twiddling my thumbs for the new/final episode(s). i did watch Lost, but then i lost interest it in w/i the 1st season... :P Anna, you beaut you!!! you shall be getting a BIG mug of coffee (or whatever drink you may fancy) when you're in Bristol next month!!! :D  :D *lol* "huge, skinny guys...dancing behind the stage to Foals' music"!!! that actually cracked me up good...
  20. indeed! his sound is definitely distinctly his, especially what he does with the delay effect, & imo that movie did a good job of telling the story of how he came to develop the sound of U2.
  21. oh dear...that was a very brilliantly touching interview indeed... :bigcry: ...it hit a bit too close to home for me, actually. funnily enough. aaaaanyway, love that website with the Paris gig photos. "Sound of Violence"...hahaha...what a name! & the photo preview vignette thing is too cool...shall need to investigate how it's done. :sneaky: + loving the reviews & fantastic vids from Paris, girls! great to see that you both had a great time at the gig! :D
  22. i loved his facial expression there when i first saw that bit on 'It Might Get Loud'...still do! haha not sure what Braddock's point is by posting that, but i happened to have watched that movie recently. if you haven't seen it, that's from the bit/"chapter" where he, Jimmy Page & Jack White were discussiong their signature techniques. for The Edge's case, i felt that particular scene showed why he uses effects pedal on the U2 albums very well. i definitely would have the same expression as him playing that Elevation riff sounding the way it did without effects. :dozey:
  23. i was told sometimes albums do get sent out well before the release date if the label wanted to build up the anticipation for it. tho seeing as this review is the only one around, i don't think that's the case here. guess we'll only know for sure how "accurate" this supposed preview is once more previews/reviews start cropping up, which i don't think will happen til much nearer to date.
  24. i have good memories of that area where that ugly bit is, so i shan't complain...hahaha & it makes for a great landmark "where's Colston Hall?" "you know that gold metallic structure thing? yeah, that's it..." :dozey: but the Biffy gig was definitely my best this year (not that i've gone to many so far)! @squareonefivesix: nice! cheers for that! :D (i note that Ben seems to be channelling a bit of Chris Martin's style there... ;) )
  25. i actually thought that was quite a poignant & touching gesture from The Doctor. he knew she was stuck on that world, he knew she loved him but they couldn't be together since he'd only end up outliving her as she aged faster than him...so he gave her a version of him that could be with her & grow old with her. *gets all teary eyed* & Rory...dear Rory...
