  1. yeah...i used to write plays. actually, i just love writing, in general. also did AV stuff for my secondary school's drama team. haven't done any of that in ages already...maybe it's just as well. save the world from having to put up with my nonsense. :laugh3: btw, rudy_o...you never heard anyone say "wah sei!" (or something like that) in Malaysia at all? :stunned:
  2. @ Space Cadet : i'm SO hungry............................ :P sorry, i just couldn't resist! :laugh3:
  3. you can try this method using Audacity...'cept where it says "Play your midi", play your wma instead.
  4. oh gawd! what've you done to me??? i keep bursting out laughing when i think of your song now... :laugh3: :uhoh:
  5. i've had it once here in UK...& i agree with the name! the grease level can compete with our Asian breakfasts... :laugh3: hi there! & welcome to the thread! :D btw the fact that you have listed 'Starfighter Pilot' as a fave = *bows to you* which reworked tour did you go to? :) i agree with you. my ticket reads "An Evening with SNOW PATROL" & i have to say it was a great evening with them for me, indeed! it only really came to mind cos we Asians love our rice (& food in general, really...) & i remember that my mum generally doesn't use a lot even for a family of 4. heh (figures that i'm thinking about food when i saw all that rice! ) i think it's a different one. there's a few of these "song of the decade" or "most played song of the decade" charts around now in the UK & a number of them have Chasing Cars as #1...or at least Chasing Cars is somewhere on the list. with Run sometimes appearing also.
  6. i'm fairly sure he was faking the accent...for whatever odd reason that compelled him to do it. i can only guess what Tom & Serge thought of his lame attempt at being all cool & tough like them. :P not sure if everyone can view them, but here's a couple of behind-the-scences videos posted on FB in Kasabian's page... Kasabian – November 2009 Tour – First Gig [HQ] Tom before the band’s first gig of the tour…it’s only the greatest show on earth! Kasabian – November 2009 Tour – Aftershow [HQ] This is what it’s like after backstage after a Kasabian show… i think the 2nd vid's from the Wembley Arena gig, but i'm not sure if it's the day i went. tho all those people singing the LSF chant after the gig is mighty familiar. everyone was singing it everywhere you looked/turned inside & outside Wembley Arena & all the way to the Tube station even! :D
  7. no worries.... "Goooooooooooooooooooood eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeveniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing, teeeeeeeeeeeacheeeeer!!!" :P i actually used this line for a play i wrote before... *lol*
  8. if Heikki & Janno can win (or just do well, i.e. not fighting for last place with Force India), they'll be hailed as honorary Malaysians... :P btw, any updates on the Schumi possible comeback?
  9. ooopsies.... :shame:
  10. Rudy...you're in the wrong country to enjoy undergrad life. :P & yeah...Engineering Maths is pretty tough too. also only glanced at a bit of it. since us CompSci ppl use the Engineering library. i SO wanna run away screaming at the mere mention of "maths" (& yet i'm doing CompSci... :dozey: ) from what i remember Form 4 Sejarah does touch a bit on the British Empire, the Middle Ages, etc. & WW2...but only briefly. British History on its own is already a lot & that's not including the WW2 British Occupation era. i had to study a bit of it cos i was tested on it for some of the UK school entrance exams for O-Levels/A-Levels studies...British History needing 4 yrs to cover is more justified, imo. & English Lit, if your English (written, reading & spoken) is very good, you shouldn't have much of a problem. especially if you find the standard Malaysian govt school's English syllabus a breeze. ;) i feel for you... btw, what are you studying?
  11. oh....you from St John's? hehe i'm from BBGS. :P when i was there (which was before the school had to make way for the Pavillion mall  ), they still had English Lit for SPM at least. i'm not sure about STPM since i didn't do Form 6 & i'm actually from Science stream. it's just that i still love the Arts, particularly English, very much. :D & yeah, i agree with you about Sejarah Tanah Melayu. tho History in itself is, truthfully, a biased subject since the writer/publisher/govt can control what passes for history. but i digress. anyway, how the hell is the teaching proportionate: 4yrs for Sejarah Tanah Melayu (just 1 place/region) vs 1yr for The Rest Of The World...WTF!!! :inquisitive: & no, i don't think you've mentioned before, but thanks! haha :D
  12. it's a USB thumbdrive... ;)
  13. an interview i stumbled on recently...while waiting for a pizza delivery... :dozey: [ame= ] [/ame] love the bit he's talking about playing football with Coldplay! "what we didn't realise is that they would arrive in their own kit & looking like Real Madrid to our real nightmare of a team..." :laugh3: ...& the comment about helping U2 in 2005.
  14. oooh, begitu...my method of playing the piano is 1-handed. haha cos i find it hard to coordinate both hands...& i'm playing by ear note-by-note anyway. yeah, classical guitar's difficult for small hands. your fingerpicking must be pretty good then. :) that's what i was learning when i was taking classes. but since i stopped, i haven't played on a classical guitar again. heh & that picture of Gary w/o his top on!!! :stunned: well, ok...i've actually seen it before, but i still have the same reaction every time. :P i do hope they had the sense to use fake rice (if there's such a thing) or at least recycled the rice used...the irony of the photos is that that's a LOT of rice to be dumping for a photoshoot. 2 shot glasses of rice can feed 2-3 persons with some sides.
  15. oh, yeah...that site's got some good shite. i got the rocking Julie & The Mothman track from there... :D & based on that quote you posted + what i read in Q magazine (the Artistes of the Decade issue), i'd say Tom seems to be the one who's into all the hip hop & dance music stuff while Serge is into the rock & roll music. nice balance...it's like a yin & yang of musical influences. here's an interview Tom & Serge did when they were in Malaysia... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNdSlmmJEWU]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNdSlmmJEWU[/ame] ...the interviewer's pretty annoying tho (imo). i felt like smacking him (if i could) & saying "stop embarassing us Malaysians with that sad excuse of a frigging Northern accent in front of Tom & Serge! you can't even pull it off to begin with!"...frigging embarrassing how he's trying SO hard with the accent. & Serge's joke seems to have flown right over his head too. :dozey:
  16. have you tried Discrete Mathematics? my brain instantly collapses on itself just looking at the concepts...thankfully i don't have any modules for that branch of maths on my course at Bristol. :P the Malaysian education system's standard English syllabus doesn't cover Shakespeare at all. even if you're doing English Literature, it's actually down to the school itself whether they want to cover Shakespeare or not alongside the modern classics (Dickens, Bronte, etc.)...& it's usually the convent schools like St John's, Victoria Inst., Convent Bkt Nanas, BBGS, that do it. btw, is the Sejarah still just going on & on about Sejarah Tanah Melayu for Form 1 - 5 & only covered Sejarah Dunia in Form 4? i always thought that was such a waste that we only had 1 yr to learn the history of the rest of the world... :inquisitive:
  17. yeah...undergrad was kinda more relaxed for me. i'm trying to juggle between 3 assignments for my MSc while looking into what i want to do my final project on. luckily for 1 assignment it's a group project & we're doing a buddy system for my group...& 2x luckily my buddy is daym smart (his grandpa taught Chemistry @ Princeton! :stunned: )...but the other 2 i'm on my own.... :bigcry:
  18. i thought just say the usual... "Seeeeeeeelaaaaaamaaaaaat seeeeeeejahteeeeeeraaaaaa, ciiiiiiiiiiikguuuuu..." :P
  19. haven't seen the Cutt Off video before...interesting retro-y feel to it. thanks for posting! :)
  20. yay!!! great that it worked for you, Meredith!!! yeah, i agree that's it's cool he posts there. tho i actually wish the others would too. oh, well...1 out of 5 of the guys ain't bad. :wacky: oh...i see...don't really remember about that ruling for Malaysia, but then, it sounds like something they might've gone & done & then changed their minds about anyway. :dozey: & i love the VW too! specifically the VW Golf...hehe :D do you play the guitar too? :) yeah, the chords are simple for their songs. well, some more than others. Chasing Cars being the easiest. but i find that my fingers need to do A LOT of stretching around cos the chord positions are very sparse for me & my small hands (especially for Grazed Knees). Gary and his frigging massive hands... :P
  21. oh, well......at least MTV got the "Best Live Act" one right. :P but otherwise, they need a lesson on proper use of the English language in news reporting... :dozey:
  22. Wonderful Night - Fatboy Slim One More Time - Daft Punk Song 2 - Blur Dirty Little Secret - The All-American Rejects Chelsea Dagger - The Fratellis I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor - Arctic Monkeys btw, may i just say that with a nick like "Gautama", it somehow strikes me as ironic that you're having a crazy party...just saying. HAVE A BLAST!!! :D
  23. oh, no...unfortunately, that was my full time job then. so definitely had to do something to earn my pay so that i can pay my rent & stuff. :\
  24. Firefox + Easy YouTube Downloader ---> has served me well all these years...& i have a choice of formats (FLV, 3GP (most normal mobile phones), MP3 (if i only want the song from a video), or MP4 (for iTunes -> iPod/iPhone) :D
  25. awww...you should've just left him to do that adorkable dance with his beloved Tom... :P & +1 to the call for Crests to check out Kasabian ASAP!!! heh :D
