  1. i don't have Sky...i'm just a poor student with Freeview. :shame: shall just have to be patient & see what BBC1's going to show on the week of 5 June...or the one following it. they will??? they are??? :stunned: didn't know that...... tho i don't think FB has ever done a video livestream before, so it'd be interesting to see how they intend to handle that...
  2. daym! that's a journalism/reporting fail right there!
  3. i'm going too... :wacky: ...tho i bet Elena's got better seats than me! hehe  anyway, i can't really remember how in the world i stumbled upon this review. i personally don't think it's that popular a website...but then, i generally don't read music reviews. tho i know that music reviewers get advanced promo copies of albums, but it's still odd since this review was done so soon (2mths ahead?) and remains the only review around so far. tho based on the About page, if the site's really run by someone who was the "media editor of The Times for five years", i'd assume they'd know better than to put out a bogus advance review. & i think it might've stuck in my otherwise goldfish memory partly because of the Beehive name too (so you're not the only one who's distracted there...heh ;) ). also noticed the bitching about the album tone...which kind of doesn't fit the 4/5 rating & seems confusing. tho the reference to Set Fire to the Third Bar as "that third bar on the fire song" seems to indicate that the writer isn't much of a SP fan, so there shouldn't be any pro-SP bias.
  4. managed to Google it up! :) here's the link (review score is 4/5!) : http://www.beehivecity.com/music/first-listen-the-place-we-ran-from-by-tired-pony085006/
  5. ah, ok...well back in Malaysia BBC's available on satelite TV & there's 2: BBC News & BBC Entertainment. but in England, it seems to be further broken down to BBC South West (where i am) & BBC London, etc. which i'm not entirely sure is an indication that different regions will get different shows, for whatever the reason it may be beyond the local news. oh well...guess i should know by tomorrow when the TV listing website i use covers up til next Sat's broadcast schedule too. *fingers & toes crossed*
  6. yeah! she DOES look a lot like Nelly Furtado......but yet it's not her? (am i even making sense here? if i'm not, then i apologise...i've had a few ciders at a post exam BBQ today) & thanks loads for all those videos from Rock in Rio! now that i'm done with my exams i can slowly watch & enjoy them...hehe :D btw, does anyone know if the Ward Park streaming is only for BBC N. Ireland or will it be available on BBC England or BBC International (i think i'm slowly converting my lil sis back in Malaysia into an SP fan...hehehehe :wink3: ) also? you'd think that me being in the UK i'd be a bit more clued in about whether BBC N. Ireland is the same as the BBC in England... :dozey: in which case i'd be in a bit of a dilemma. 1 of my coursemate's asked if i'd drop by a pub near my place where his band's playing on 5 June & they're the 1st band on...argh! :\
  7. ah, now i know what's the name of 1 of the songs that i liked in that intro video! :) i'm still wondering how that person on some online music blog (i think it was) got to review the entire album well before anyone else...i haven't seen any other reviews of it online aside from that 1 person's. hmmm..........
  8. nice!!! have fun!!! :D
  9. who's the girl who sang with them for Set Fire to the Third Bar? i think she did quite a good job there... :) yeah, i kinda can too...in the other way round. i tend to pull the doors. hahaha :dozey::embarrassed: Gary & his randomness = absolutely adorkable! :wacky:
  10. hmmm...nobody's mentioned Damien Rice yet? ;)
  11. thought i'd share this interview with you all here too, since i guess not all of us stalk TTB when bored like i do... :dozey: ...had a good laugh reading it. this has got to be 1 of the weirdest interviews i've read... *lol* Gary & jamming (" And by jamming I mean the potting of preserves.") being one of the loves of his life! he seems to have been in a mischievious mood when he did this interview... :laugh3: but i don't think my sis' little dachshund'd get along with him if he were around...naughty Gary! :P
  12. great to read/see that you girls all had a great time at your respective gigs! :D haha....Roos, i still can't get over how cute this photo is! :wacky::wacky::wacky: & "yay!" to you & your little sis getting Gary & Nathan's attention with your marriage proposal sign(s).
  13. he was asked how long he takes to get ready...he said 15mins for hair + make up. i think he's lying...heh :P pretty + skinny & only 21yo...
  14. haha...i'm not claiming i know any better. it's just an observation that he seemed to be really off & the look on his face seemed to indicate that he knew it. & yeah, i'm personally not a fan of that other band, but i thought that was pretty cruel too. especially when i was told that they didn't want the 2 drawings given to them. my sis & her colleagues didn't have the heart to return the drawings to the fan, so they kept the drawings & told her the band loved them so she'd not have her heart broken. :( ^^ this!!! :D & that comment about gremlins being responsible for the technical problems really cracked me up...along with imagining tall lanky Gary in a tiny car trying to sign the sun shade! :laugh3: @RoosAnne: looking forward to your review too, girl! (& i'll assume in advance you had a great time as well!)
  15. speaking of that jaw of his...is it just me or does he seem to twitch his jaw every once in a while now when he talks? & that Guinness news is a revelation to me! at least now i know why i'm seeing an increase of ppl in my FB "Like"-ing Guinness Ireland these days... :dozey: awww...that's really nice of him to keep the sign & all. :) my sis was just telling me about a band (not SP, of course) who were asked by the event organisers to sign a very well done drawing that a fan made of the band for her to keep & the band barely gave it a glance. just signed it & walked away. the band's manager even commented something along the lines of "parents should teach their children not to expect too much of people" (the kid had made 3 drawings, 2 of which were meant for the band to keep) :stunned: hearing that from my sis just makes me appreciate SP & gestures like this at the Berlin gig more... :P oyah...& saw this posted by someone in my FB today...nice to see a bit of the Reworked touch still there... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-BCwekszWE]Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars live in Berlin 2010 [/ame] (i love the guy & his singing, but Gary's voice sounds off when he does the chant-y bit here, imo... *runs for cover from the Gary fans*) me too... :\
  16. i wish! i was in the stalls, so was standing all the way in between all the moshing around... :dozey: tix to see Biffy Clyro at Colston was just under £19, so no complaints on the pricing in any case.
  17. it was Colston Hall, actually...smaller venue & definitely not somewhere i would've associated a Biffy Clyro gig with
  18. i'd plonk my vote with the iPhone i've had an iPod Touch & i'm now using an iPhone. i prefer the iPhone cos used with an unlimited data plan, it's REALLY handy to look up stuff like if you need to find directions to someplace or need to check movie times when you're out or you're expecting an urgent email, etc. with the iPod Touch, you're pretty much at the mercy of wherever there might be a free WiFi hotspot to use the many cool & mostly data-dependent apps. battery wise, the iPod Touch lasts longer, if only because it doesn't have the phone function (which is quite virtually the only thing key thing that distinguishes it from the iPhone). the iPhone fails there as batt runs out pretty fast if you're playing games or using the WiFi/3G a lot.
  19. i do! but i love web design more & whatever graphics i do tend to be for that purpose... big fan of Photoshop, but in my Web Tech unit in my uni course this semester i was forced to use GIMP as the lecturer wanted us PS-lovers to at least try out GIMP and then decide for ourselves which is better & also cos he figured it'd level the playing ground a bit more as not many ppl use GIMP compared to Photoshop. tho he did admit that Photoshop is the industry standard & ppl who are used to Photoshop are not likely to like using GIMP & vice versa. @Darlene_Ihnfsa it's probably GIMP. or Inkscape. i don't really know of any other Linux-specific graphics editing software.
  20. well if by "country tinged" he means it's closer in sound overall to SP's reworked tour's songs, i'm definitely fine with that. not a fan of country music like that one Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers or the general stereotypical country music type played at the senior citizens' line dancing classes they have in Singapore & Malaysia (yes, our elderly folk in Asia love doing them line dances in their spare time these days... ) but, as i have bitten the bullet & ended up with tix to their gig, i'll know for sure by then how their stuff sound live... awww...can you change your flight? delay it a day or 2? :( (i have a very good reason for asking this of you... :P )
  21. Biffy Clyro gig in Bristol...good times! :) [ame= ] [/ame] & 'Mountains' sounds infinitely less Foo Fighters-ish live (thankfully, imo)!
  22. awww....i was there! that one's from MTV World Stage! :D he & Serge had just only flown in on the day itself from their quarantine in Aussie...technically he was still ill/recovering, but Tom was all posey wosey still, bless him.
  23. i know someone in 1 of the major music labels whom i occasionally help out with summarising press releases & web stuff for...on a voluntary/unofficial basis only. but like i said, i can't remember if Lily Allen's confirmed or not. i think they're only looking at having 3 acts this yr anyway. downsizing... :\ & on another note, i saw some recent photos of that Adam Lambert lookalike lead singer of Tokio Hotel...OMG! he seriously looks girl pretty & skinny!!! :stunned: + his twin is like.................ermmm, how do i put it, if i didn't know the lead singer's a guy, i'd have thought they were a sister & brother twin.
  24. i quite like the booklet actually...particularly the 1st page with Gary's "commentary" about how he met each of the (current) band members & how the 'Snow Patrol' name came around. but the real reason i got it was that i was really trying to get 1 of the signed boxes...but i missed out. but then again, things played out such that i ended up meeting them anyway...well, other than Nathan...but 4/5 ain't bad. so maybe it was SP karma at work there. :)
  25. there were a couple of tunes that i liked, especially the last one. tho i'm still sitting on the fence about this supergroup's stuff...mainly cos country music has never really been my cup of tea & there were some really country sounding stuff in that vid.
