  1. the emailer i got says that it'll be premiered on snowpatrol.com at 10AM (UK time) ...i hope i can control my laughter when i watch it at work! think it'll be hard tho from that 30sec clip.
  2. i do hope it's YouTube & not one of those MTV exclusive type of premieres...cos i don't get MTV & i don't intend to get it unless it's already part of my TV package. but seeing as they'd put up the YouTube link of Called Out In The Dark shortly after the radio premieres, i guess it's likely they'll do the same for the actual video. btw, i noticed that Amazon UK's expected release date for the EP's 2 Sep...2 days earlier than the official day & what's listed on iTunes! likely going to just get it from there. cheaper than iTunes (by a whole 30p! :P) + their tracks are in mp3 format.
  3. great song! but am i the only one who thinks Gary's singing sounds VERY different from usual? & if the new SP album's gonna have epic sounding songs like this, i really think the boys' new album could well be their Joshua Tree! :D  EDIT: @Mig-El it's on iTunes UK, but as a pre-order only & listed as "Album Only" right now. to be released at the end of the week.
  4. i go to quite a few gigs on my own...mainly cos i just can't find a gig buddy. it's quite alright, really. but it does get a bit awkward when i get free gig tickets, cos it's always given away as a pair & i need to go around looking for a +1 but sometimes can never find one (the spare makes it feel like the tickets are wasted on me :shame: ).
  5. can't help but notice...EvenTIM.de & on another note...they need to play a gig or 2 in London some times too. :P
  6. hmmm...2nd single... :sneaky: *cough*on 3 October pls*cough* :wink3: i like that Absolute Radio replayed the audio clip of Gary saying he'd like to play at the Old Trafford football ground...i do wonder if that DJ asking him that question & replaying that bit on another day means SP are likely to be the next band they arrange to do a gig at an unusual place. tho Old Trafford isn't really an "unusual place" to do a gig...the lads just need to get to stadium rockers level. simples. :P unless Absolute Radio arrange for the gig in the players' changing room. :bulb: ...then again, it's not likely to be so far out from London if it happens anyway, i think. anyone got any ideas to unusual locations the guys can play in? heh i thought the locations Biffy Clyro & Elbow played in respectively were already pretty unusual & hard to top! maybe the The Globe theatre? or the Temple Church?
  7. I personally still believe it's definitely an autumn release based on their album's release pattern, as you've said. it's just a matter of when exactly this time. did hear another interview Gary did for a Danish radio station on ying56's FB that also mentions November again. but also adds that there'll be a 2nd single released before the album.
  8. haha...yeah. it's so old that The Edge still had hair back then! & i did consider that it'd be great that SP's on that wall in Dublin, but then they don't qualify for it...3 N. Irishmen & 2 Scots anyway. definitely will be released before this year's over. :D Q magazine put it down as expected in autumn 2011. & Virginie, Aurelie, myself think that Gary seemed to have said it might be out sometime in Nov during 1 of the 3 radio interviews he did on the day each played the new song for the 1st time. 'cept we could've also sworn he said Sep in another. :inquisitive:
  9. you're almost there...it's called thethirdbar.com well, it's easier (to me anyway) that it's just 1 guide book for the entire island. even if politically it's 2 countries. this was what's written about SP in it (after about 1 & 1/2 pages' run down of the modern Irish music scene): & that wall sounds interesting...i imagine it's like Belfast's version of the Rock & Roll Wall Of Fame in Dublin? heh
  10. anyone on here going for Kasabian's iTunes Festival gig? i'm still hoping to get a ticket (i don't even need the extra if i do win a pair...as i am almost always stuck trying to find a nonexistent +1 these days)...
  11. *sigh* the ultimate in taking the piss...iTunes finally granted me a pair of tickets. for Mogwai on 23 July! >,< anyone into Mogwai who's in/near London & able to make it on Sat'day night? else i'm very likely to just sit this one out...
  12. i have a Lonely Planet guide book of Ireland (ROI + N. Ireland) that mentions U2 with full admiration (not that i'm complaining...i love U2 too) but totally slates Snow Patrol. :dozey:
  13. @coldplay_is_louve not sure if you listened to Gary's interview on Absolute Radio, but he just made my frigging month!!! his "special place he would like to perform at" (ala Elbow at the crypt in St Paul's Cathedral) is Old Trafford!!! :wacky: :wacky: :wacky: *starts singing "Gary Lightbody is a red, is a red, is a red"*
  14. wow! would've thought Chasing Cars is pretty "old" by now to still be overplayed on radio stations. but...them's the brakes. & as expected, SP has pulled of electronic-tinged music much better than Coldplay! it's a rather gloomy summer day here in London this evening & i was walking back in the drizzle when it came on...totally brightened up the evening for me! :wacky:
  15. that video's looking awesome! nicely done & fits with the edginess of the song! cheers for the link. :D
  16. yeah, i agree with you. it might be down to the fact that Gary & Tom occasionally do DJ sets when off SP duty. & it may also be that they listen to stuff by Phoenix & LCD Soundsystem who do clubby tunes. & i like ETIAW too, tho i also did think that it's quite a summery tune. will have to wait until longer down the line like when it's autumn or winter & see if i still feel the same about it.
  17. based on all the shows so far, Coldplay's set'll be around 9pm. Pierces'll come on around 7.45pm. i've seen some ppl say that at past iTunes Festivals, there were ppl who'd shown up at the door to queue to get in in the incredible likelihood that there might be spares/returns/no-shows. but you'd have to be there incredibly early on the day & may not be able to get in after all the waiting. personally, i'm not going to take up this possibility...the gig's on a Friday so i'm at work til 6pm. & it's not a surefire thing i'll get in so am not taking the day off just for it. but if you're really hard up to go & are free on the day, i guess you could try your luck.
  18. seriously? all i've been seeing on mine's iTunes Festival stuff...evidently mocking me at not getting any tickets at all so far. :dozey:
  19. haha...no worries. :) & yes, we must go for another gig together soon! :D  :D
  20. it was Kasabian i saw at Wembley Arena. ;) & for the record, i'm quite jealous you & Elena got to see SP do an almost 3hr set at the RAH...a once in a lifetime thing! :disappointed:
  21. awww...i wish you could've come over for it! btw, i didn't see them at Wembley tho (if that's what you're saying there?)...but i'd bought the tinset anyway. for one thing, it's cheaper than the SP boxset.
  22. oops! forgot you've got an older gen phone! ...i was also still in "work" mode, evidently! i quite liked Just Say Yes too. probably more than ETIAW, even after all this time. & i don't recall hating it when i first heard it anyway. but then i think SP can pull off dancey/clubby tunes better than CP. & i think SP & electronic music is a less abnormal link than CP & electronic music anyway.
  23. *lol* can't imagine Gary rapping!!! or being all screamy & angsty like Linkin Park's Chester!!! i'm with the others...whatever "inner dance monkey" sound is, i'm guessing it'll sound something like Just Say Yes. there was a section of the survey asking about what computer & mobile devices i own. & these days there's quite a number of Android owners, so maybe they'll expand beyond Apple mobile devices this time. it'd be a more sensible marketing move to include Android devices anyway, imo. & yeah, my fave sections on the website are those too. there's not much other interactivity otherwise, aside from the forum. but that feels like quite a closed community the few times i've gone on it. ...then again, i don't think there's been much work done on SP.com for aaaaages already. :dozey:
  24. they are...the bands/artists who've already performed have EPs available about 2-3 days after their show.
  25. well, admittedly i was looking at the photo on the actual magazine...it's harder to spot the Apple gadgets on the scan. on the mag's image, you can also see that Jonny's very likely Facebook-ing on his iPhone (not that many apps out there with a dark blue header & white body). ;) @a-chan i decided to do the survey the email mentioned...i don't really need another Up To Now boxset if i do somehow end up winning it. ...but i was curious what it's about. & from the questions, it sounds like they're looking into coming up with another iPhone app (yay! :D) & maybe improving on what we get to see/do on SP.com for when the new album is released.
