don't worry Corkus...i'm with you about TDCC. i've seen them play live & thought they were good. even my sis who's never heard/seen them at the time said they were good. & +1000 that BB King's gonna pop in for a song or 2...guessing When Love Comes To Town might just be on the setlist tonight.

The Snow Patrol Thread
i think somehow cos the SP guys had to work for a good 10yrs before they came anywhere near Coldplay's level of success with Parachutes/Yellow, they're a bit more genuinely appreciative of fans & know to put effort into making us feel like part of their "family". either that or Gary's PR savviness/skills are bloody top notch! :P & songs wise, i agree too. i personally feel that it's fairly obvious what Gary's singing about & you can relate to most of them. but with Coldplay's lyrics, aside from Fix You (& possibly Christmas Lights) which was quite obvious what it was about, the other songs are harder to work out what exactly Chris is singing about. oh, & Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall actually reminded me of when Snow Patrol went & did Just Say Yes (re: the clubby beats)...'cept i think SP does a better job of making a good clubby sounding tune. but then, i guess SP has the advantage there since at least 2 of them do a lot of DJing, especially with Tom being the old hand at mixing beats.

Biffy Clyro
i know!!! & i still wish you could come with me as my +1!!! :( there are actually ppl on the forum who were (or still) doubting that the London event is for real...whinging away about how suspect the email is, etc. some ppl need to have a bit more faith! jeez... :dozey: & imo, as a hard rock kinda band, Biffy Clyro are REALLY good at doing acoustic songs... :bomb:

Biffy Clyro
looks like someone managed to record 2 songs from the Berlin screening + acoustic session from up at the front! roll on 30 June!!! :D hope they allow recording, tho i somehow think it isn't...but will try my best to. :P edit: hang on...errr...how do i embed YouTube videos on here again? thought i did it right...

Game of Thrones ( A song of ice and fire HBO adaptation)
that book would be SUCH a pain to carry around & try to read on the tube...heh looks like i should probably occupy myself for the rest of the year til Season 2 reading the books now. :P felt that Dany's story was reminiscent of Mara of the Acoma's story from Raymond E. Feist's Empire trilogy. well, minus the dragons & horse lords anyway. but in essence i felt it was kinda similar.

that restriction only really applies to the contest winners...the +1 could be anyone regardless of whether they live in the UK or not. just wondering, anyone on here won any ticket at all yet? 1st gig's due to start in about a week's time... :\

The Snow Patrol Thread
i'd say pretty good odds it'll be out before Coldplay, especially with a release date already set but not announced yet. & agree with you that SP are better at making it all feel more intimate with fans in general (the blog, Tumblr updates, gig experience) than Coldplay. but different bands, different strengths/characters, i guess.

Game of Thrones ( A song of ice and fire HBO adaptation)
oooh...i *may* actually be right! checkout out the actor's profile in IMDB Jack Gleeson & his filmography includes Batman Begins...as "Little Boy".

Biffy Clyro
listening/watching party anyone? :) i'm still trying to figure out what they mean about the #biffylive Twitter hashtags in relation to a virtual crowd. cos it doesn't just sound like they just want you to get #biffylive trending. (see here for details of the "virtual gig crowd" idea they have) cool thing about this is i can plead work-related research! haha ;)

there'll (very) likely be ticket touts reselling tickets once they start getting allocated. but at as really high premium for acts like Coldplay...& imo, not worth it + too high a risk that it's a wind up. btw, there's another way to win tickets: check out Songkick...if you haven't already. (i'm KopiJunkie on there)

Jen, i think the loophole there is that if a person is incredibly lucky to be picked for multiple gigs that they applied in a round, since it's done on a multiple draw rounds basis, that's fine. & "in the event that such persons are identified blahblahblah" means that there is a chance they aren't identified by the computerised system.

Game of Thrones ( A song of ice and fire HBO adaptation)
was watching Batman Begins over the weekend...since it was on the telly...& at some point, there was a little boy in a scene (NOT the young Bruce Wayne) & i was like "hey, that's Joffrey!" :dozey:

X-Men: First Class
great movie overall, especially for a comic book franchise movie. & totally didn't expect the cameo...neither did the rest of the cinema from the incredibly loud cheers, woots, "oooh"s from the crowd.

Biffy Clyro
so..............is anyone here going for the screening + acoustic session + Q&A in London? :anxious:

Radiohead...& no, i'm not joking. i don't hate them or anything, i know a number of their songs. but the only Radiohead song i like & understand is Creep.

Every Teardrop is a Waterfall Meaning
this!!! ppl need to have a proper listen to (or understanding of) the lyrics before complaining that it's ridiculous. fairly sure there's a message in the song title too, tho that'll take a better understanding of the song's message to interpret. & Calvin Harris-ish club beats (which is where Coldplay are the most guilty of trying too hard to be "in", imo) aside, what about Jonny's guitar riffs in that song, eh?
