  1. Hey, have some respect. 15 year old me thought Fix You was deep. :P But in regards to the song, I don't like "para-para-paradise", and sure the lyrics as a whole are a little weak, but I like it a whole lot better than ETIAW. The piano and the guitar and the bass and the harmonies are good. Just have patience and wait until the album comes out before judging. (Although I guess I'm being a hypocrite - I'm never gonna like ETIAW, haha.)
  2. No. No they don't. But Debs just said it may or may not be on LP5, right? So we still have hope? Haha.
  3. When I first read that, I thought R42 was going a bit crazy. But no. It's a good festival tune. Remember that because they're festival shows, there will be lots of people who aren't hardcore fans. From the crowds I've seen at festivals, I think the general festival population will really dig this song.
  4. In response to Debs, I'm gonna go ahead and say.. I'm entitled to my own opinion. Yes, I love this band. Yes, I have for a long time. But I don't have to love everything they release. This just so happened to be a song that, to me, sounds like everything else on the radio that I less than like, but I'm not going to say I hate Coldplay. If LP5 is full of songs like this, then no, I won't be buying it because I'm not "with the boys through thick and thin". I listen to music I like, not music released by bands I like. There is a clear and distinct difference, and while I'm all for musical evolution (loved VLVODAAHF), this is not the kind of musical evolution I was expecting. Coldply's entitled to make whatever kind of music they want, and if they're happy, I'm happy. I just won't listen to it. Lighten up, everyone. Very few of us are actually hating on Coldplay here.
  5. I'm going to go ahead and say I HOPE it's not on the album, but I feel like it will be.
  6. I disagree. I wasn't surprised when I heard it, because I feel like it fits the lyrics well. I was disappointed with the lyrics, and disappointed with the music.
  7. I gotta agree with you on the lyrics. I hadn't read them until just then because I don't like reading lyrics before hearing the song, but after reading your post I couldn't help but have a look at them. Apart from the line "I'd rather be a comma than a full-stop", those lyrics seem really shallow and uninteresting to me. Not a fan of the album artwork either. But it's Coldplay. I loved Viva, so I'm sure I'll love LP5 too.
  8. Oh hey, it's Debs! Literally the only Coldplay-related thing I've done in the past 6 months is check The Oracle every couple of days. Ha... bad fan.
  9. Sadly, this is true. But yeah, I bought it when it came out, and I don't really have the money to buy it again, especially when songs are so expensive on iTunes. Sorry, guys. :(
  10. I must say, I sympathise with the people who were a little disappointed. Yes, it was their decision, but to fly halfway across the world to not even get to meet Phil and Matt... I dunno, I'd be a little disappointed too. I was going to go before my parents said, "There is no way you're flying to London next week to go on some boat ride." I realise people are going to get annoyed at me or whatever for this, but I just had to give my two cents as a pretty hardcore Coldplay fan from Australia.
  11. Haha I can't believe you're still awake. Btw, this is my real account. For some reason I made another account two months after I made this one? Haha.
  12. Oh look at that. I have two accounts. I have a question.. why is there not an announcement on coldplay.com or anything? I feel like this is a bit of wind up, as you English would say. I'm not doubting Ian's legitness, but.. it just seems strange to me. :/
  13. I like Wedding Bells, but not for an album. Definitely EP, though. I've been intrigued by FOP since I heard the name, but yeah, not going to say I want it on an album. I just want to hear it someday.
  14. Death Cab for Cutie Mae We Shot the Moon John Mayer (not a band, does he count?) Switchfoot
  15. ^ Yes. I got mine off eBay.
  16. Yeah, exactly. Remember that podcast from way back when? Chris and Will talking about "if a song doesn't make the first album, there's absolutely no chance it'll make the second album." Or whatever. There's no way they're using Viva leftovers for LP5.
  17. a) Shame because of that annoying girl b) Yeah maybe it wasn't recorded in Australia. I really don't know. Haha c) Our venues have better acoustics? Cool.
  18. Now that I've actually listened to the album version recently, I have to say, I still absolutely adore the album version. The live version is still better though. That girl really annoyed me the first time I listened to it because it was the track I was most looking forward to. I think it was recorded in Australia too. *hides face in shame* But yeah, I agree that they should've picked another one.
  19. Hah. All the time. Just yesterday it happened to me. I was listening to old podcasts and ended up listening to all the albums in order, which rarely ever happens. Usually I'm just on giant Coldplay shuffle.
  20. Isn't that Chris?
  21. Everything's Not Lost Amsterdam Swallowed in the Sea Cemeteries of London
  22. Wow. High quality. Also thank yous on the back of Prospekt's March. :) I love how ginormous that photo of the studio in AROBTTH is on the vinyl packaging though. p.s. I really love that first picture on the second page of Prospekt's March. Everyone's just walking along with their instruments and Chris is dancing. :P
