  1. I dunno, I guess it's the fact that the music has been physically pressed onto the record, unlike CD which is just digital files... yeah, you'll understand when you hear a record yourself :P
  2. This is partly true. Most (but not all) albums have a digital master, which would make you think there's no point to listening to it on vinyl, but you'd be wrong. Records still sound incredible, even if they're the same as the mp3 files you would get on iTunes. For example, I pressed some records of my own recently. I had 4 wav files, all digitally recorded/mastered. I put them on a cd, sent them down to the record company and they pressed them on vinyl. The results were outstanding. The songs sound 100000 times better on the record than they did on my laptop. There's just a certain quality that records have and nothing else does.

  4. dp. The mix is cool though. Really like the Bok Bok/Roska remix.
  5. pretty cool, i guess
  6. I listened to Paradise again. It's actually really good up until 2:20ish, where chris starts singing higher and the OOHHHs come in. I also made the mistake of listening to Major Minus. This song is just really fucking bad!
  7. I LOVE COLDPLAY.......:)

  9. Arghhh, I can't handle this. "French hip-hop/dance producer DJ Mehdi, who began his career on the underground Parisian hip-hop scene, died on Tuesday (September 13). According to several reports, the DJ/producer (born Mehdi Favéris-Essadi) was fatally injured when the roof of his Paris home collapsed. He was 34 years old. After working his way up to premier producer status, Mehdi linked up with French electro-house DJ/producer Pedro Winter (a.k.a. Busy P), whose label, Ed Banger Records, rose to international prominence with acts like Mr. Oizo, and SebastiAn and Justice. Mehdi's 2007 single "I Am Somebody," featuring Chromeo, enjoyed Stateside success, including placement in a commercial for XM Radio. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1670636/dj-mehdi-dead.jhtml [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOyU_OzRXnM]DJ Mehdi - Signatune - YouTube[/ame] Terrible news. He was only 34 :( :( :( :( He was always my favourite of the Ed Banger Crew.Rghhhhhhhhdfhg
  10. Oh man, DJ Mehdi died :( :( :( He was always my favourite from the Ed Banger crew. R.I.P. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOyU_OzRXnM]DJ Mehdi - Signatune - YouTube[/ame]
  11. Parachutes sounds great, yeah. But X&Y?? really??? to me it's a very digital, cold, overproduced album. Can't imagine it sounding any better on vinyl. hmmm.
  12. what? I saw New Moon with my friends (as a joke, obvs. it was pretty hilarious) and the music choices actually worked extremely well. Yes, maybe the twilight fans will ruin your precious little band, but the song is actually being used well....
  13. well here's one idea listen to them
  14. i'd say it'll be top 20. Possibly top 10, if nothing amazing comes up...
  15. Elzhi - Elmatic cover album (tribute album?) of Nas - Illmatic, which is the best or one of the best hip hop albums of all time. Really cool. Samples all played with a real band!
  16. well, it's been great arguing with you, but I can't handle checking these threads every minute... i need to go outside or something gfdhsghfdhsfd
  17. what? Massive is the perfect word to describe the song. The synths/strings/etc give the song a huge, stadium feel. Whether you like it or not, it definitely sounds massive.
  18. For any band/label/album, the singles that are chosen are the ones with the biggest commercial appeal. Paradise is poppy, and has a reasonably catchy hook. I'm sure it'll do alright in the mainstream world.
  19. Yeah, I understand, but i don't think them doing it for creative reasons is completely out of the question... hmm, I really wanna meet them now, actually. I got a lot of questions to ask
  20. Okay, fair enough. dunno if it's me or you who's getting the meaning of regressing wrong...unless it means both? fuck
  21. You're saying that Coldplay are changing their sound to gain more record sales, yes? I disagree. I can definitely see them changing to this pop sound, for creative reasons. It doesn't seem out of the question, I mean, even I, the ultimate hipster on this forum has started to take an interest in pop music :P
