  1. Just one more month (minus a day) until the first summer festival!
  2. I read a TIME article about using other options besides physical torture. It said that most of the time, torture was most likely to make the person much less cooperative, and, like you guys have already said in this thread, the person could just fabricate a story. The other option is interrogation that relies more on psychological tricks, like playing with emotions or lying. Here's a little snippet from the article: The article is a bit long, but if you want to check it out, go here. These techniques may not be 100% effective, but I personally think they would be a much better, more humane option than torture. :\
  3. Nifty! Ahh. 20°C, Mostly Cloudy? It's like Yavin 4 out there. Hot, but with some cloud in the sky. Also bits of the Death Star might fall on your head. :uhoh:
  4. It's both of that. We briefed over John and Paul's childhood life; we start from the Quarrymen and move on from there. My teacher lectures on each album along with the important events going on during those albums (e.g., Shea Stadium). We're also learning very basic music theory, and analyzing the Beatles' individual styles. Other stuff we've been learning includes their films (I LOVED A Hard Day's Night and Help :wacky: ) and the important people who have worked with the Beatles or influenced them throughout the years. That's basically it . . .
  5. It's a pretty great class, especially for Beatle newbies. I'm really enjoying it. My teacher said whoever can get either Paul or Ringo to come to class and do a guest lecture would get 15 extra credit points. :P Haha, I know a bunch of you guys in WOM would definitely get 100%.
  6. I'm a Beatles noob, and I have my first Beatles music exam tomorrow. :awesome: I'm so unprepared.
  7. Really cool theories, you guys. They're interesting to read. I re-watched that Silence in the Library scene where River asks the Tenth Doctor if he knows who she is, and he replies, "Who are you?" :bigcry:
  8. source.
  9. Aw, really? That's a little strange.
  10. Thanks! I'm in Doctor Who mode. :D I noticed your previous Matt Smith avi. :wacky:
  11. :surprised: That's really cool! You and she will have a lot to talk about, whenever she gets back. :P
  12. Kinaykikayobamakaysha. Oh yeah.
  13. That ending. I . . . just . . . WHAT?! :dizzy: Rory. The poor fellow.
  14. Another Muser! :awesome: (Muse is one of my favorite bands too.) Welcome to CPing, Amanda! I hope you have a fantastic time at Lolla.
  15. I definitely didn't notice it; I'm not very observant. What's the clue?
  16. 98% of the music I hear at my workplace consists of Britney Spears/Katy Perry/Ke$ha/Bruno Mars/Enrique Iglesias (IF I HEAR THAT "TONIGHT" SONG ONE MORE TIME . . . ) etc. I mean, there's nothing wrong with that music, but when you have to listen to it for four hours straight at a blaring, loud volume, it gets really tiring and obnoxious. The other day, they played Viva la Vida. THANK YOU. But then it went back to the songs about "dancing like there's no tomorrow". :shifty:
  17. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rh3aZcc15ts]Muse - Map of the Problematique[/ame]
  18. Can't wait for tomorrow's episode. My heart was in my throat during the majority of last week's show.
  19. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDxDKhnxCXI]A*Teens - Upside Down (Bouncing Off the Ceiling)[/ame] :awesome:
  20. :D You and me, Violet! It looks so difficult, though. :dizzy: Difficult, but fun.
  21. I forgot! I've always wanted to learn how to play this one, one part or both. Then I need to find myself a piano buddy and then we can play it together. :wacky: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tq1rZXzjP-I]Mozart Sonata in D major for Two Pianos[/ame]
  22. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PZUSJMFd4w]Muse - Piano Thing[/ame] Yeah . . .
  23. Why exactly did you, the last person I would expect, send me that? For educational purposes? Maybe I'm just too much of a prude and don't have a sense of humor, but . . . WHY? T_____T
  24. Nice! I'm glad to hear you had an amazing time. :D So, I had to Google where exactly St. Maarten is located (yay, geography skills :blank: ), and I'm assuming you went to a Caribbean island . . . ? :wideeyed: Whoa, that's pretty cool! :awesome: If I saw a Muse-member-look-alike, I wouldn't be able to keep myself from staring.
  25. Welcome back, Christina! How was your trip? Nothing's really happening in the Muse world; I guess we're just waiting around until the gigs in Russia and Ukraine start (just a little less than a month left :wacky: ). An American Idol contestant covered Uprising on the show, so feel free to YouTube that if you wish. :blank:
