I have a few times (still need to really listen to "Rain", though). I couldn't really get into the songs themselves, but it was still really interesting for me to hear the "beginnings" of Muse.

You're right! I still find it pretty amazing at how young they were when they made Showbiz.

Ah, I noticed that too; I think it's the "live" he drags out. The beat/rhythm of his singing does seem thrown off to me compared to the Parachutes version, which sounds a little more clean. That's really nice of your friend to offer to make that!

I personally prefer the one from Parachutes, but there is something beautifully haunting about The Blue Room version. I like the "atmospheric" feel to it. How about you? :wacko:
