I'm not a huge fan of Paradise, but ETIAW grew on me a lot and from what I've heard of the live stuff (CB, UATW, HLH, etc) i'm super excited. I think it'll be good. While it's fine to be like, uhhhhh i don't like, people have been pretty harsh at some points, imo

i agree with that. i suppose the next best thing would be to ignore those who are being rude about it, on either side. I can understand why the people who are not liking the new stuff are getting a bit defensive, because sometimes it seems like they're being criticized as "haters" and such, probably by a small number of people who like the new stuff. both sides need to chill a bit-not saying anyone in particular, but it just seems to be pervasive throughout the boards

for the love of pete, it's okay to dislike-hate, even-the new stuff. it's okay to love it. if you see a thread where CPer's are lauding and/or lambasting the new stuff, and you disagree, avoid it. end of issue.

this. i've been a fan since Parachutes, but it wasn't until 2009 that I joined, because i was FINALLY seeing them live (being a poor teenager/college student lol) that, and i didn't even know the forum existed until then. as for this thread in general, nice to see some rationality instead of blind panic. i'm not crazy about Paradise, but I'm sure, like ETIAW, it will grow on me. Despite those, after listening to a lot of the other stuff that has only been played live (ie CB, UATW, etc) i'm super excited for the album.
