  1. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Tour DVD but Lp 5 would be nice, but not likely! :D
  2. looks like no awards :(
  3. Got to tell yah! I hate radio in the states; they play far too many people who can’t carry a tune so I listen to Absoluteradio in London all the time, so most of my music is from the UK. So that being the case I went through my computer to find some stuff that was not from the UK. I’m so sorry that a bunch of my songs didn’t work! And I understand about the baby situation! I have quite a few niece's and nephews ;) Hope your son is doing well! 1) I've heard this one played on the radio but no idea who it is. Quite a good opener to the mix from the piano tinkles. --1. In My Head—Until June—Sound of Defeat -This is a band from California, their songs are often used on TV shows in the states. I find them to have a different sound, which is unique and I too like the piano 2) Phoenix, can't remember the name of the song though. Mixtape, so far so good! --2. 1901—Phoenix—Wolgang Amadeus Phoenix - Yup indeed it’s Phoenix, thought it was a fun song so I put it on the mixtape 3) Its clear that this mix will feature many anthemic songs, here's another over 5 minutes long. Its ok, but not my favourite on the mix. --3. Actions Are Actions—Low vs Diamons—Low vs Diamond - This is also a band from California they are just getting started out there, so I thought I might share it with you, no worries about not liking it! ;) 4) Another one I've heard, fuck knows who it is. Very grizzly! --4. Monsters—Hurricane Bells—Tonight is the Ghost -Interesting you thought of Grizzly on this track cause that’s who I thought of when I heard it too. The singer in this band is Steve Schiltz who used to sing and play guitar in a band called Longwave. 5) Jack Johnson, Taylor, I'm sure I've seen him play this at Glastonbury - happy this one is in here! :) --5. Taylor—Jack Johnson—On &On - I love love love Jack Johnson. I have been following him since about 2001 when he released his first cd. I was able to get the radio DJ in CT to play some of his stuff when I lived there, so I take pride in his music! 6) I can't put my finger on this at all, but I like it! Reminded me of Enya when it came on...... but somehow I don't think this mixer will have much Enya in the CD collection!! --6. Can’t Take It In—Imogen Heap—The Chronicles of Narnia - Enya haha I do have some enya! But, this lady is from your neck of the woods! It’s Imogen Heap and if you were to watch the credits in the first Chronicles of Naria movie this song would play ;) 7) The Kooks, she moves in her own way. Nice! :) --7. She Moves In Her Own way—The Kooks—Inside In/ Inside Out - They have top music! 8) Florence and the Machine - Rabbit Heart acoustic After a male vocal dominated mixtape this song is almost like the pinnacle female voice of the album, much softer than the single version. Favourite track of the mixtape. I very much like this track as I have done since it was released. One of my most played on Spotify. --8. Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) [Acoustic]—Florence + The Machine—Drumming Song Ep - I have fallen head over heels for Florence’s music! I’m just trying to convice people over here of here greatness 9) Horchata by Vampire Weekend: I'm not that big a fan but this song is different enough than most on this mix so its a stand out track for me :) --9. Horchata—Vampire Weekend—Contra - It takes time to get used to Vampire Weekend; glad it stood out for you! 10) Don't know who this gentleman is I'm afraid, not my type of music so if I don't get to find out I'll not lose any sleep! --10. Moon—Benton Paul—Trois - This is a guy from my school, no worries about not liking it again! 11) Couldn't play this for some reason, either my computer or the fact I don't have iTunes installed?? :/ --11. Geraldine—Glassvegas—Geraldine - Sorry this track didn’t work for you, yeah it came from iTunes ☹ 12) Wouldn't download for me I'm afraid :( --12. 83—John Mayer—Room For Squares -Again sorry this one didn’t work for you either! It didn’t come from iTunes, but its all good, I threw this one on there because it brought back some awesome memories of seeing him live, and missing my lunch box :D 13) Another song I've heard but I have no clue as to who it is or what its called. note to self: must pay more attention to the artist when the song finishes on the DAB! Overall an OK song, not overly enamoured by it though. --13. She Needs Me—Fyfe Dangerfield—Fly Yellow Moon - Yeah, he is played a lot on absoluteradio 14) Lake Michigan by Rogue Wave, I recognise this from the radio only. Never heard any other stuff by them. A stand out track on the mix for me. --14. Lake Michigan—Rogue Wave—Asleep at Heaven’s Gate -Eh this is about the only track besides Eyes that I like from them, so your probably not missing a whole lot from them ;) 15) Couldn't get this to play, was it from iTunes? (Which I haven't got) --15. Lonelily—Damien Rice—B-Sides - I’m quite sad that this track didn’t work for you either, seeing as it’s one of my favorites from him. He writes incredible sons with fantastic lyrics. If you get a chance I would look him up on youtube and check out some of his stuff! 16) One Republic - Good Life. I know this song!! :P --16. Good Life—OneRepublic—Waking Up - Awesome band! Great lyrics! I choose it cause it talks about the UK haha not really, but its in there. It’s just got a great beat to it! 17) I might like this the more I play it. Like the beat of the song, and it is indeed good for driving to! --17. Full Moon—The Black Ghosts—Twilight - Keep listening it will grow on you! It did to me! 18) 3rd one I couldn't get to play.. :( --18. We Are—Vertical Horizon—Everything You Want - Blast! this one didn’t work also! I tried to throw in some early 2000 in! This is one of my favorite bands, I wish they were still making music! 19) Big fan of acoustic versions of songs, but not this. Reminded me of Boyzone! --19. Out Loud (Live)—Dispatch—Bang Bang (Remastered) - Haha, sorry you didn’t like it! They normally don’t do acoustic stuff, perhaps if you get time you should listen to their other stuff you might like then again you might not! ;) by the way I have no idea who Boyzone is but for some reason I’m picturing Backstreet Boys with British accents 20) Somewhere over the rainbow Reggae style??? Me likes! :pimp2: --20. Somewhere Over The Rainbow—Isreal Kamakawiwo’ole—Alone in IZ World - Kind of reggae indeed. The guy singing this song is known as Hawaii’s hero! Unfortunately he died, but he lives on in his fantastic music Sorry you couldn’t hear some of the songs, sorry you didn’t like some of the songs, glad you did like others! Oh and sorry it wasn’t in a .rar file, I have no idea how to make one on a mac! Cheers!

  9. 88 (he's an avid user of botox) ;) Who besides Chris made a cameo appearance in Shaun of the Dead?
  10. I've been listening to them since november! Love their unique sound! Although I wish that Itunes in the states would hurry up and put the entire album out and not just 3 songs. I had to import the album from the UK. I wish they were coming to play in the states or at least closer to me!
  11. HotStop! Is chris left handed or right handed?
  12. Before I begin I must confess that most of my mix tape were in a foreign languages ;) so my review will not be as in-depth as others. FL= Foreign Language Track 1: FL- To start off the mix was a live track from a concert, It is heavy with violin which makes it quite fun and the crowd in the background of the song are enjoying it! The lead singer also sounds like he is enjoying himself with what I presume are catchy lyrics? Fun track to begin with! Track 2: This track begins with a mellow guitar rhythm with addictive lyrics of don’t sell me. Love the instrumental bit in the middle of the song. It makes you want to joke around with friends. Great song. Track 3: FL- This song has a bit of a bjork feel in the beginning and then changes to a hard rock feel with heavy singing for the chorus, then switches back to the bjork’y’ sound, then back to the hard rock. Interesting song, not my favorite but it might help if I could understand the lyrics ;) Track 4: FL- I must say this song is a bit weird but addicting even though I have no idea what is being said. It reminds me a bit of Muse with the music. The singer is singing in short staccato words emphasizing each bit of the word. The song gives off a hypnotizing feel to it. Track 5: Every time I hear this song I think it should be in a James Bond Movie, It has this sultry feel to it and then it changes to rock part with heavy lyrics, all the while soft piano plays in the background. The singer has a melodic voice that works well with the song. Intriguing song! Track 6: FL: This track has this way cool intro and then it jumps right into a chorus of fun, with this chime sound in the background. I think it is a French song? I can understand some of the lyrics: Mr. President, bloody? Different song all around, ends with laughing ☺ Track 7: FL : Err I believe this is a traditional German song, It is heavy with bag pipes and drumming! Way fun to turn up loud on speakers and scare roommates with! Track 8: I’m guilty but when this song came up I shouted English! Hehe not that I’m not enjoying the FL songs but its nice to understand what is being said! This song has a mellow feel to it with a pleasant guitar and tambourine riff. The singer sounds so familiar! Track 9: I love this track It sounds like the Flaming Lips? I almost sure it is them, it is such a happy track that you can’t help but smile :D Track 10: FL-This reminds of a mix of Jack Johnson and an awesome blues guitar player. He has such a sultry voice that you can’t help bobbing your head along. I listened to this track three times before moving on to the next track on the mix tape. Track 11: Great guitar, I’m such a sucker for guitar. This song is a bit depressing but still has great lyrics that make you see past its downcast sound, it has a sound almost like my chemical romance that have great lyrics in their songs. Track 12: FL- My itunes says this Les Wriggles? The song is acoustic and the guys singing all have great voices and are in harmony with each other. Guitar is helping them along. I like this song, it was a peaceful song. Track 13: FL- Ah this is my kind of music! While I have no clue what is being said I still enjoy the drums and the guitar. The lead singer is kind of reminding me of the singer from The Offspring. Wonderful track! Track 14: The singer has such a cool voice! He has a little tweak to his voice that makes him unique; there is a girl in the chorus that helps sing with him. The song has a great beat that makes you want to clap along. Kind of reminds me a little bit of The kooks but much quieter! Track 15: FL-This mix tape began with a live track and ends with one as well! This song has crazy awesome acoustic guitar in the beginning and then a man sings with a somber tone that changes a bit in the middle turning into a yearning sound. Finishes with loud clapping from the crowd, obviously a well-liked singer. It was a nice song; I wish I could understand what was being said though! Overall I thought it was an interesting Mix, there were many songs that I liked and few that I didn’t like so much. I feel like I didn’t do the best with reviewing because 9/15 was in foreign languages so I had to comment on the music aspect more so than the lyrical part. But nonetheless this was a fun thing to do and I can’t wait until the next Mix tape exchange! Good Job to my mix tape maker! You gave me some different music and opened my ears even more!
