The official Gorillaz Thread
I barely visit the G U forums. I think I have an account there. Gorillaz Unofficial, right? I think Stylo is a beautiful song. Fuck those who don't think so. The combination between highly melodious tune with dead-pan rap and an amazing singing verse, it's an amazing song. Why are they so pro-Jamie? I feel a little for Jamie, the visual aspect of Gorillaz has definitely decreased over the years, I wonder how does he feel about it. :\ But the artwork for Plastic Beach is awesome.

I love how Damon thinks. :wacky: Was he drunk at their reunion shows? I seriously don't know how he has so much energy. :dead: Actually, I love the alternate version, and I think I listened to the alternate version before the album one; I have not bought Plastic Beach, mainly because I'm so stubborn I want to get the better edition ones. Glitter Freeze is such a unique song. No one other than Damon could have thought of it. :cheesy:

The official Gorillaz Thread
I must watch Bananaz someday. Haha, it kind of proves that Damon cares more about the music than credits. I thought the Gorillaz concept was a parody of the music and bands that were featured on MTV?

Describe The Evolution Of Your Music Taste
Pre 13 : American mainstream, music played on the local radios here. Music from Akon, Timbaland, Avril Lavigne, those famous rap songs, famous rock songs, Fall Out Boy, All-American Rejects, Good Charlotte, Maroon 5, etc. I still like AAR though. There was a point where I relied Billboard to find out new songs more than the local radios here. :| I'm not sure when. 15 years old (Around erm, July?) : COLDPLAY COLDPLAY COLDPLAY. I slowly edged out of mainstream and went towards British music. 16 years old : Which is the age I'm in now. I totally went out of the music I listened to back then. I slowly edged out of Coldplay. I started listening to more bands, explored more genres than before and started to widen my music taste to not only music of the present but of the past too.

Is there a thread for this genre? Anyway, I'm interested in listening to music of this genre. So far, I've only known Damon Albarn's Mali Music of this genre, but I have not listened to it. Any recommendations?

The official Gorillaz Thread
I think to use recordings would be much easier and cut down cost? Because it's not exactly cheap to have a world tour being Gorillaz, they probably have the most live members than most bands. I agree, in Gorillaz, he's the mastermind, but the composing credits goes under the name Gorillaz, I'm not sure whether it's completely Damon or with help from contributors. Someone can clear me on this please? In Blur, I think those were the days where he's not so famous, so catchy tunes is important if they want to make it big. However, I think he's the mastermind behind the Britpop genre. And yeah, Graham influences the music a lot too. It's like having 2 main composers in a band, but quite a good combination. @tarareid : Hello there! Fellow Damon fangirl? :P Yeah, good point; they could have used one electronic drum set and an acoustic one. But perhaps someone else plays it? The whole Gorillaz live setting is huge, can't exactly pinpoint who plays what. I like Rhinestone Eyes a lot. I don't know about the live version though.
