viva-la-coldplay

I do like her voice and I appreciate that she's trying to make it her own, but it's just *too* different. It has none of the WOW! and passion that CB should have - there's no point at which I feel like I want to dance and jump around like I do with the normal version. And whoever's getting the lyrics for the songs needs to sort themselves out, there were so many mistake!

I don't think it's horrendously bad but on the other hand I wouldn't ever say it was one of Coldplay's best. It's a nice enough little song but as most others have said, it's nothing spectacular - it's just a bit meh. Lyrically I suppose I'm in the minority by quite liking it, but in terms of the melody it is a bit generic and forgettable. But then, X&Y has never been my favourite album - I love some of the songs on it but I think it's definitely their weakest. But I agree that the LRLRL version is a lot better, and I love that they added on Postcards because I feel that the two blend so well together.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but does anyone know what sort of time we might be able to expect the film? Do we think it'll be late 2012 or into 2013?

^ I completely agree! This belongs in the 'You know you're addicted when' thread, but I think a sure sign of addiction is when a mere photo comparison can make you tear up like I just did! And my random thought wasn't random as such, it's just that although I obviously adore Coldplay each and every day of my life, there are some days when it hits me just how much I love them. Today was one of those days. It's like a recurring epiphany about the sheer scale of my love for them, of how much they really mean to me and how utterly, indescribably happy they make me.

When you're lying in bed reading R42's new blog and you watch the videos and start grinning insanely and have to stop yourself from making fangirly squeeing noises because *COLDPLAY*!!! And this state of complete love for them inspires you to basically write an essay on why you love them on Tumblr. And the same thing essentially happens when you listen to the vocals-only versions of Shiver and Clocks and you do end up making inhuman noises because you just can't stop yourself.

Things I Don't Understand (so long since I've been on :shocked2:)

When your dad and his wife have to tell you to stop singing at the table in a restaurant (which happened to me yesterday!) - but only because Strawberry Swing and Violet Hill started playing! I mean, really, can anyone blame me?! :P Also, when the videos of their GMA performance make you feel so happy you could burst - especially Chris' random noises and dancing :D :dance:

I thought I should just clarify at this point, since I don't think tones come across very well over t'internet (!) I'm not saying anyone's wrong, I just repost what I see! I mean, that Wiki site could very well be wrong: after all, everyone says you should never trust Wikipedia! :P I'd have said he was a leftie (yes, that's right, all awesome people are lefties, deal with it :laugh3:) from that video. Well, Guy's certainly picked himself a stunner but I'm just hoping that he doesn't go too far down the rock'n'roll lifestyle... We've all seen what that can do to incredible musicians. On the other hand, at least the nudes were done fairly tastefully. It's nothing Page-3-like, thank goodness! Well, we'll just have to see what comes of it - after all, nothing's officially been said and it could just as well be a quite casual affair.

On a different note, I really want to watch the South Bank Show episode now, haven't seen it in AGES! And it was so perfect as well - especially the end where Chris is in the park (maybe Hampstead Heath, though could be mistaken) :heart:
