Good post Briggins! You already made your point pretty clear for me before but that was still interesting. It looks like you even were a bigger coldplay fan than I am :surprised: :P! It's a good thing that people like you stay in here actually. It would be so boring and annoying if everyone here were die hard Coldplay fans. Discussions and (respectful) arguments are what makes it interesting ! When I think about it, I would probably have had the same reaction as you toward Viva La Vida if I had discover Coldplay back in 2003. But VLV got me into Coldplay, it made me listen to their other stuff so I kinda discovered all at once. And even though I soon came to like their old stuff better too, VLV remains pretty special for me. Besides I first saw them for the Viva Tour (and enjoyed every minute of it). I also agree on the fact that it's not healthy to listen to one band only (or even just a few). You're right when you say that "people need to learn to respect other people’s opinions" and that it's pointless and stupid to try to convice people that Coldplay make the greatest music or are the biggest band. BUT, some people here also need to stop trying to convince people that Coldplay are shit ! Your advice must be taken by both sides. Actually I think I usually see more people insulting and being really harsh with Coldplay fangirls/boys than the contrary. Even if they have reasons to think those fangirls/boys say stupid things, there's no need to be that harsh. I mean what's the point? It's not going to change them anyway. PS : excuse my bad english :facepalm:

This thread just annoyed the crap out of me. Coldplaying sometimes makes me feel like there's either smart people who really are music lovers and have such great musical taste/knowledge but generally don't like Coldplay, or stupid Coldplay fanboys/girls who know nothing about music other than Coldplay (and make Coldplay fans look like tools :shame:). Are there people in here who really love Coldplay's music (including Viva stuff) AND who also listen to tones of other bands and are eager to discover new music all the time just cause it's their passion ?? If so, I'd like to meet them !!!
