Coldplayers meet-up in London, Summer 2010 - UPDATED 4/7/2010!!
Despite all the occasional discrepancies that occurred in here, I really enjoyed myself reading this thread again. Five years ago... time flies. There's nothing like the first time. I've visited London four more times since the meet-up, and I have to say: that city is not finished with me. Even though I like to think of myself as quite the know-it-all about London (of course, depending on what people I'm there with), it still feels like I haven't seen everything yet. I probably haven't. Oh, look at me being all sentimental. All I'm trying to say really is that I don't think I would've appreciated my time being in London as much if it weren't for the people that had a chance to meet there. Carrie, Anna, Natascha, Pete, Vera, Peter, Sofia, Nancy: I miss you so much. :parachutes: Closeness has nothing to do with distance.

I agree completely! I really do not understand why people complain when they've got what they wanted all along. I love that the "old" Coldplay emerges now and then in their new stuff (like the second half of Magic), but I also love that they dare try new things and experiment with new sounds that wouldn't be Coldplay-esque otherwise. I was completely blown away with Midnight, for example, mainly because I love that kind of music and well, Coldplay makes everything a little bit better no matter what they do. I actually think the most annoying thing about the show was that it was way too short. I sat there in my bed in Sweden watching the show really flippin' early in the morning and just said out loud: "That's it?! 45 minutes?" Went up at 4 AM, got back to bed at 5 AM. I guess I expected a longer concert from a band that's released five albums and one on the way, but iTunes probably had limited time for each band, like they had at the Where The Action Is festival in 2011. Regarding the songs... well, I like them. I loved Always In My Head from the beginning, partly because of the beat and the guitar sound. Another's Arms was a little bit cheesy for me, but it has grown on me since. The cheesyness of the lyrics probably made me miss my ex-boyfriend which isn't that good so I was annoyed by that especially at four in the morning. I loved that they played Midnight in the end. I was so cynical before they played it, like "OK, they've played all their famous songs, which one will be the last" and then they played a new song (an amazing one) which really lightened me up. Got back to bed very satisfied after that.

Perf! And this is the thread we'll all be hanging at? Just making sure that there aren't any other "official" spam-about-Coldplay-concert-on-the-other-side-of-the-Atlantic thread ;)

Midnight
I actually think this song is beautiful. I like this kind of style and that Coldplay dare to experiment with their sound even further than they already have. I'm listening to Midnight as we speak for the tenth time today. Perfect bedtime song. Leave the light on... Let's just see if it'll be a part of LP6, but I'm sure that whether it does or not the new album will be something that we've never heard before and maybe even something that we never thought we'd hear from Coldplay. So excited!

I am so happy the forum is back...
Haven't been online here in forever but it feels sooo good that the forum is back  I think it may be time for me too to come back, make some new friends and make room for what was important three and a half years ago.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Earlier today my boyfriend and I were discussing buying tickets to a concert by a Swedish band. Him: You can always save the money and go see Coldplay instead. Me: But I have already bought my Coldplay tickets? Him: I meant with me. The thing is, that by the time we got together, about a year ago, he didn't even like Coldplay! Now I catch him singing along with songs I didn't even know he knew about, see him listening to Coldplay even when I'm not around... I think I'm facing conversion! :D Oh, and by the time he said that thing above...I cried of happiness.

It really sucks that closeness HAS something to do with distance in our case. We used to be so close. I'm sorry for moving.

Show Off "Your" Coldplay!
So, long ago, when I was browsing this thread, I saw something that I haven't found since then, but it got stuck in my mind and I couldn't wait to make one of my own. The years went by and on this very evening the dream came true: A mug full of (well, more like surrounded by) Coldplay songs!
