But looking at an overall worldly view of what their signature song would be, I'd say it's a toss-up between Clocks and Yellow. I think I'm leaning more toward Clocks though.

That's pretty much what the locksmith that we hired said. We had our doorknobs/locks changed when we first moved in, plus had dead bolts added on all the outside doors. And not all dead bolts are created equal, they need to go far enough into the door frame otherwise they are worthless. And just having them acts as a huge deterrent anyway; our neighbors still have their original crappy doorknobs/locks and never added deadbolts, so if a burglar came into our neighborhood they would go for those houses and not even bother messing with ours (they would waste too much time trying to get in).

Most of the old fogies leave shortly after the cake is served anyway, so your point is moot. Some of them might stay for the newlyweds' first dance, but that's about it.
